Millennium Andong Jjimdak

밀레니엄안동찜닭 "Millennium" is the English loanword; Andong jjimdak is chicken braised in soy sauce with potatoes and glass noodles, the dish named after Andong.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

Millennium Andong Jjimdak sits in the middle of the jjimdak alley inside Andong's Old Market (Beonyeong-gil 9). It serves soy-braised Andong jjimdak in small (₩32,000), medium (₩48,000) and large (₩63,000), with a choice of mild, medium or hot. Jjorimdak, boneless jjimdak, neungi-mushroom jjimdak, fried and garlic chicken are also on the menu. Pickled radish is the standard side, and one post noted rice is ordered separately. We read 30 posts dated July 3 to October 23, 2026; 26 of them describe actually eating there.

Rows without a count: 11 of 14 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The kitchen faces the street at the entrance. Seven posts say you can watch the jjimdak being stir-braised in a row of large woks as you walk in; one counted four or five woks lined up, and several remarked that the cooking area looked clean.
  2. Eight posts came with children, and the same story keeps coming up: the kitchen adjusts the heat for them. One family had the dish made mild, a portion set aside for the kids, then the rest finished at medium heat; another had a pepper-free portion set aside for a baby; a third ordered mild and asked for chili flakes on the side for the adults.
  3. Many shops in the alley have long lines, but five posts walked straight in here. Two came after giving up on the line next door, and one put it down to the size of the place. On the other hand, one post said every shop had a queue over the Chuseok holiday, and another found only one free table at 1:30 pm with takeout customers lining up. Two posts said the food took 20 minutes or more; two said it came fast.
  4. Nine posts found the medium heat spicy and three did not. Four were told medium is about as hot as Shin Ramyun, and one warned that the green chilies and garlic in the regular version may be too much for children. Others said the medium was not hot at all or not hot enough. On seasoning, six posts found it mild rather than salty, while two found it salty and sweet.

Getting inside

Second floor7 of 24 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 24 posts read)

There are two floors. Seven posts mention the second floor, and three say they sat on the ground floor. Posts describe the upstairs as floor seating, including rooms where you take your shoes off; a family of 13 was seated in one of those rooms on Chuseok day. One post noted a long bar counter downstairs.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access, and no post mentions how you get upstairs (stairs or elevator). Three posts say the upstairs has floor seating.

We don't know about the toilets. One post carries a line saying they are inside and separated by gender, but it is a copied info block, and no post describes actually using them.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions differ on size: eight posts called it spacious, two said it was small (one counted about seven tables). The figures of 40 seats downstairs and 120 upstairs are copied from the shop's signboard, and one post wrote 140, so we do not count them.
  • No post describes getting there by bus or train; posts mention only a five-minute taxi ride from a hotel or walking over from the mask-dance festival. That means nobody wrote about it, not that it can't be done.
  • Opening hours appear in 14 posts, all copied info blocks. Eleven agree on 10:00–21:00 on weekdays and 09:00–21:00 on weekends, and seven give last orders at 20:00. No post mentions a closing day — which means nobody wrote one, not that there isn't one.
  • Three phone numbers circulate: 0507-1407-5414 in five posts, 054-855-5413 in two, 054-855-5414 in one. One post booked ahead through Naver's reservation system.
  • Prices are consistent across posts: ₩32,000 small, ₩48,000 medium, ₩63,000 large. A small serves two or three, so a person's share comes to roughly ₩10,000–20,000 with rice. Two posts said it is cheaper than at home; one said prices have risen a lot since 'the old days', without saying when.
  • Nine posts with 'nationwide delivery available' in the title repeat the same points in nearly the same order: a locals' favorite, 40 seats downstairs and 120 upstairs, a visit by the singer Young Tak, all-domestic ingredients, nationwide delivery. Only one discloses sponsorship. From these we counted only what the writers experienced, and we did not use the TV-appearance frames or hearsay as evidence.
