Bongpo Meogurijip
봉포머구리집 Bongpo is a small port on the Goseong–Sokcho coast and meoguri is an old word for a helmet diver; the house story on the wall says the founder was a diver whose catch was turned into mulhoe.

A large mulhoe (cold raw-fish soup) restaurant facing Deungdae Beach in Yeongnang-dong, Sokcho. The most-ordered dishes are mixed mulhoe at 20,000 won, abalone mulhoe at 25,000 won and stuffed squid at 17,000 won. The ground floor is a lobby with dried-seafood and takeaway counters; diners go up to the second floor, order on a table tablet, and several posts say a robot brings the food. We read 30 posts dated 20 September to 28 October 2026; 16 describe eating here, 11 are list or info posts written without visiting, and 3 were about other places and set aside.

Rows without a count: 4 of 7 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The sea view is the draw: eight posts mention a window or floor-to-ceiling glass seat. Five say the window seats are two-tops — one notes that groups of three or more will struggle to get one, while a solo diner was shown straight to a window two-top. One weekday-evening visitor saw nothing of the sea after dark.
- No post describes actually waiting. The four that say there was no queue all went at quiet times: right at the 10:00 opening, an early lunch during a holiday, a late lunch after the peak, and an off-hour afternoon. Two posts mention three Tabling queue kiosks at the entrance, and one saw rows of waiting chairs on the second floor too. One weekday-evening visitor found it empty but had heard weekends mean lines. Nobody reports how long a weekend lunch wait runs.
- Four posts call it pricey — one compared it unfavourably with Tongyeong, another balked at 25,000 won a bowl. Squid mulhoe is market-priced and was 37,000 won on one summer 2026 visit. On the other side, five posts say the portions or the amount of fish were generous, and one notes two bundles of noodles per person.
- Three posts mention the corn-and-sweet-red-bean side dish, and two asked for refills — one had three bowls, another refilled twice.

Parking
4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Four posts found parking easy, three of them describing the lot as large. Five say they arrived by car. The figure of 250 spaces comes from listing information copied into one post, not from anyone's own observation.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 5 of 15 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | 2 of 15 posts |
Five posts say they ate on the second floor. Of the ground floor, one post describes a dried-seafood counter and another a café. Two posts mention an elevator.
The registered address reads 'basement 1 to floor 4', but no post mentions going below ground or seating there; posts describe entering a ground-floor lobby and eating upstairs. We don't know how the basement is used.
No post describes the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; 'wheelchair accessible' appears only in listing information copied into one post. Two posts mention an elevator, and the one family with a baby didn't describe the way in. This means nobody wrote about it, not that access is lacking.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 11 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes reaching the restaurant by bus or train. Five came by car and one walked from nearby lodging.
- Opening hours appear in seven of the posts that visited. All say it opens at 10:00, and four give closing as 21:00 on weekdays and 21:30 on weekends. Last order is split: three posts say 20:10 on weekdays and one says 20:15. Most of these were copied from the listing.
- Two phone numbers appear in the posts: 0507-1404-2026 and 033-631-2021. No post mentions calling ahead or booking. Instructions for Tabling's remote queue appear only in info posts written without visiting.
- Eleven of the posts naming this restaurant are list or round-up posts written without visiting; they repeat the same template (signature dishes, address, phone, 'check before you go') with no record of a meal, so we didn't count them. Claims such as master-chef titles, TV appearances, Blue Ribbon awards and a patented broth are the restaurant's own promotion, repeated by bloggers, and we don't rely on them. The Goseong branch at Cheonjin Beach is a separate location.
