ONC is a three-storey building of its own, standing on the shore road at Gyoam beach in Goseong. Two writers read the menu board and report the name is short for Ocean & Coffee. Nothing is built in front of it, so the harbour is on your right and the beach on your left. The ground floor holds the counter, some seats, the toilet and a door out to a small terrace. To reach the first floor you go back outside and up an external stair — several writers note there are no stairs inside. That floor is the one with the full-height window and a mirrored wall facing it; above it is a roof terrace with no shade at all. Four signature lattes carry the menu, and one writer copied down that they come iced only, on a double shot. Drinks arrive in a reusable PP cup printed with the logo: one writer took hers home to use again, another was unhappy to be handed plastic. The dessert case has changed — four kinds of scone in late 2024, dacquoise and terrine cake since. We read thirty posts and counted all thirty; none were set aside. Eight of them are whole-trip write-ups of the Goseong coast, with anywhere from two to five places checked in, and in those we read only the ONC passages. The posts run from November 2024 to September 2026.

  **The drink most people here actually drank** — ten posts. Two note it can be made decaf, and one had two iced decafs. One asked for it weak

  ₩5,500 in four posts — November 2024, and March, May and August 2026: **unchanged across the two years we read.** Opinions split: three call it low-acid and nutty, easy to like; one says ordinary; one finds it as strong as espresso but short on aroma. One writer, used to paying ₩8,000 for a coffee with a sea view, liked the place better for the price

  **The signature dessert:** ten posts mention it, six ate one, and they picked different flavours — two chocolate, one matcha, one salt. The matcha one is filled with matcha cream and red-bean paste. One writer notes there are dummies in the display case so you can choose by eye

  **Not one post gives the price.** Four of the six who ate one liked it — hard to find elsewhere and good here; the thing to order; enjoyed even by someone who does not go in for dessert. But one, drinking a cream latte alongside, left part of it because the latte was sweet enough; and one who ordered cake as well reports that her friends called both bad

One writer says it comes hot or cold — which contradicts another's note that the four house drinks are iced only

  ₩7,500, and all five who drank it use the same word — nutty. Rich sesame under soft cream, sweet but not too sweet; good hot, for one; simply delicious for another. One writer ordered two of them; another wonders why every cream latte in Gangwon tastes this good

  **The price went up:** ₩6,500 in a May 2025 post, ₩7,000 in every post from March 2026 on. Of the three who drank it, one found the glass a little small and the taste unobjectionable; another calls it the coffee of her life

  A sweet latte with **whole cane-sugar grains you crunch through** — the Korean name is the sound of the crunch. Four posts copy the same menu line

  ₩7,000, drunk by two: one likens the grains to popping candy and points out you get your sugar and your coffee in the same glass; the other just says it was good. A third had it **on an earlier visit** and had not met the drink anywhere else — that post did not order it this time, so it is not in the count

  A **dense, fudgy baked cheesecake.** One writer passes on what she was told at the counter: the name means an earthenware dish, it is made with cream cheese and Belgian chocolate, and it eats like a pavé chocolate or a New York cheesecake. Matcha is one of the flavours

  ₩7,000, in one post. Both who ate it chose matcha: sweeter for being dense, and somehow more expensive-feeling than ordinary cake. **One post calls what looks like the same thing a matcha cheesecake**, and we could not confirm it is — so that post is not counted here

Parking

8 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

There is no car park of its own. The writers who say where they actually left the car name the verge along the shore road, a two- or three-car space beside the building, the lanes behind, and the beach car park. One notes it is tight but nobody is enforcing anything, so you park where you are not in the way. The phrase "beside the concrete wall opposite the cafe" appears word for word in the information block at the top of four posts, none of which says the writer parked — we read that as copied and did not count it. Whether that verge fills up on a summer weekend, nobody wrote.

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

In thirty posts, not one says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. No one looked at the threshold, a ramp, or a step; no one mentions a lift, either to say there is one or that there is not. Yet the seats that look at the sea are upstairs, and several writers state that the only way up is the stair outside the building. People do say you can see water from the ground floor, so sitting down there is possible — but whether there is a step at that door, we do not know. The toilet is described as being on the ground floor; an accessible toilet is described by nobody.

When the posts appeared

What we do not know

• Nobody arrived by bus or train. One post does lay out the route — the 1 or 1-1 from either Sokcho bus terminal, off at Gyoam 2-ri, right at the GS25, left at the fork and straight on — but it never says the writer rode it. Everyone else came by car, and one walked along the beach from where she was staying. How often the bus runs, and how long the walk is from the stop, nobody wrote down.
• Not one customer says they queued here. Waiting comes up again and again across the thirty posts, but always at Baekchon Makguksu or Nogwon Sikdang; this is the room where you wait for those. Several writers found the place empty, or were the first in. One post says it gets fairly busy at the height of summer, and even that is written as something she was told rather than saw. So we cannot answer when you should come to get a seat — least of all the three at the window, which two writers already missed out on.
• Two writers actually went in. One calls it a shared toilet and thought the owner keeps an eye on it through the day; the other was struck by the absence of a single limescale mark. A third post lists it as having separate men's and women's — but in the exact wording of Naver's facilities list, so we did not count it. The person who went in called it shared. What a post says and what its writer saw are not the same thing.
• The price went up, and opinion splits on it. The house latte is written as ₩6,500 in a May 2025 post and ₩7,000 in every post after. One writer was surprised how cheap it was for a cafe with this view; another calls it standard for a tourist spot; two say you get little for the money; one shrugs that expensive and good go together. Not one post gives the price of a dacquoise — you could back it out of somebody's total, but that would be our arithmetic, not theirs, so we left it out.
• One post's information block is probably not about this cafe. A post from August 2026 gives the phone as 0507-1375-6385, the hours as 10:00–21:00 daily, the Instagram as @onc_coffee, and says there is a dedicated car park beside the building. All four contradict the rest — thirteen other posts give 0507-1398-2341, every other post closes between five and seven in the evening, the Instagram is @onc.cafe, and there is no car park. We take it as another cafe of the same name, copied in. The visit itself reads as real — the overcast day, the sunset ade and the black-sesame cream latte, the floor upstairs — so we kept the post in the count, but took no figure from that block, the opening hours included.
• Opening splits between nine and ten, and the closing day looks as though it moved. Thirteen posts say nine, spread across the whole span from November 2024 to September 2026; four say ten. It does not sort by date — one writer watched the door open at nine in August 2026 and another wrote ten that same month, and a September 2026 post splits it: ten on weekdays, nine at the weekend. On the closing day, nine posts say Wednesday and four say Tuesday, and all three posts after August 2026 say Tuesday. Not one post mentions an afternoon break — which is not the same as saying there is none.
• No post declares a sponsorship. Eleven say they paid their own way; the other nineteen say nothing either way. We read the bodies and the hashtag blocks at the end and found no line about anything being provided, and no disclosure tag. That is not the same as saying none was sponsored — all we know is that nobody said so.
