Tongnamujip Dakgalbi
통나무집닭갈비 Tongnamujip means 'log cabin' — the main house is built of big logs like a mountain lodge — and dakgalbi is chili-marinated chicken stir-fried on an iron plate.

The original iron-plate dakgalbi house at 763 Sinsaembat-ro, Sinbuk-eup, on the road to Soyang Dam in Chuncheon. Chicken thigh, neck or innards cost 16,000 won per 250 g portion; the meat arrives on a large iron plate with cabbage, rice cake and sweet potato, and staff circulate to stir-fry it at your table. Udon noodles (3,000 won) go in, fried rice (3,000 won) finishes it, and three posts ordered the house pork cutlet (10,000 won) for children. We read 30 posts dated 15 August to 21 October 2026. Seven were about other branches (Namchuncheon, No. 3, the charcoal branch) or nearby cafés and a festival booth, and we set them aside; eight were listicles or write-ups without a visit. Fifteen describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Waits are common but depend heavily on timing. Fourteen visit posts discussed waiting and nine waited: 10 minutes at 11:30 on a weekday (ticket no. 2), 40 minutes after arriving at 12:30 on a Sunday, about 40 minutes, and an hour from 12:15 to 13:20 on a Sunday (ticket no. 110). One family found a long line 30 minutes before opening; another got a ticket in the 80s at 7 p.m. on a Sunday and gave up for another branch. Three posts walked straight in — weekday or Friday lunch and dinner, and once around 7 p.m. on a Sunday. Two posts describe the system: take a ticket at the counter, wait in the waiting room for your number to be announced, numbers run to 100 and restart at 1, and the announcements can't be heard inside the dining room.
- There is a dedicated place to wait. Seven posts mention it: an indoor waiting room in the next building and chairs under a shade awning out front. One post found it air-conditioned and comfortable; another, in early October, said it was stuffy until a fan came on after about 40 minutes and that there were some insects.
- Staff handle the iron plate. Seven posts say staff come round to stir-fry the chicken and later the rice. One added that you still need to keep turning it so it doesn't burn, and another, on a busy Sunday evening, cooked it themselves for a while before staff came over.
- The restaurant is large. Eight posts called it spacious; it is split into a main hall and an annex, and the counter assigns your seat. Three posts sat on an upper floor — one had sat on the first, second and annex floors over several visits, another was sent to the third-floor annex.
2 more
- Nine posts mention the self-serve bar for extra lettuce, perilla, garlic, young-radish kimchi and water kimchi. Two missed pickled radish wraps. The kimchi is also sold to take home.
- Five posts mention a Naver receipt-review promotion: post a review and get a drink, or a discount, at the Ediya café next door.

Parking
6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

There is parking, but it fills. Six posts parked; one only said you have to grab what you can. Two describe cars queuing on the road to get into the lot, and two advise letting a passenger out first to take a waiting ticket. One managed to park after seven or eight minutes; another said it is always full but a space opens up.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 3 of 15 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 15 posts read) |
It is not in a basement: two posts sat in the ground-floor main hall, and there are second- and third-floor annex rooms. No one said whether the upper floors are reached by stairs or a lift.
No one described the entrance step or arriving with a wheelchair or stroller. One post's 'wheelchair-accessible entrance' line is copied from the listing, so we don't rely on it. That means unknown, not absent.
We don't know whether the toilets are inside the restaurant or separated by gender. One post only said they were fine; the gender-separated note is copied from the listing.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 23 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-10-20 | 3 posts in one day |

| 2026-10-18 | 2 posts in one day |
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on seasoning split: three posts found it well balanced and not salty, one found it fairly salty. Two called it sweet and one not; a repeat visitor felt it had become sweeter than before. One found the sauce too mild.
- Perilla-oil makguksu is a recent addition: a post from a 27 September 2026 visit called it a new item, and two October posts ordered it (11,000 won). We don't know exactly when it appeared. The restaurant has not moved or changed its name.
- Not one post arrived by bus or train; every visit was by car. Whether it is reachable by public transport is unknown.
- Sixteen posts give the same hours — daily 10:30 to 21:30, last order 20:30, no regular closing day — but all copy the official listing; none confirmed them in person.
- Prices mostly agree, but one listicle put dakgalbi and innards at 15,000 won, and the tray noodles appear as 16,000 won (listicle) and 17,000 won (October receipt). Receipt totals: 46,000 won for two; 80,000 won for four adults and a child; 127,000 won for four adults and five children.
- Several posts list the phone number, 033-241-5999, but no one tried to book, and a listicle noted that remote queueing was not confirmed either.
- Four listicles posted between 17 and 20 October 2026 repeat the official website and tourism-portal text (hours, parking, Blue Ribbon awards) almost word for word, and one more still contains its writing instructions. None of these count as visits.
