Yugyeong Tangsuyuk is a fusion sweet-and-sour pork shop in a residential alley on Gwandae-gil in Naegok-dong, Gangneung, across from Catholic Kwandong University. Its signature is the potato cream tangsuyuk: fried pork and wedge potatoes in a sweet, savory cream sauce, 23,000 won for a small, with half-and-half at the same price. What sets it apart
- This is an order-ahead-and-collect place. Of 21 posts, 14 say they booked a pickup time by Naver or phone. How long it took varies: four found it faster than expected (20, 20 and 27 minutes, and 30 minutes against a quoted 50), three found it slow — ordered at 8:40 on a Friday night and collected at 10:40, quoted an hour but waited an hour and 20 minutes, and during the October holiday found online ordering shut from before 4 pm until after 9 pm.
- There are tables, but it does not work as a sit-down restaurant. Three posts saw two to four tables; three say you cannot eat in — one was told so on arrival, another says the dining area has become a waiting area. No post saw anyone eating inside, and one says outright that nobody was.
- Sweetness leads. Twelve posts call the potato cream sweet, and several liken the sauce to cream-shrimp sauce or mayonnaise mixed with condensed milk. Whether it gets cloying is split two to two, which is why many order it half-and-half with the kimchi-cheese version.
- Six posts say even the small is generous: two people ate their fill from the 23,000 won small, and some thought three could share it.

What we do not know
- Not everyone was won over. Two posts found it ordinary — like any neighborhood Chinese takeout — or could not see why it is famous; one felt the meat was low quality, and one says the shop reeked of frying oil.
- Prices in 2026 posts are 23,000 won small, 28,000 medium, 33,000 large and 38,000 extra-large (two posts). One post remembers a small half-and-half at 15,000 won in 2017; we do not know when the prices rose.
- No post describes queuing outside. All the waiting is cooking time after ordering ahead; three posts waited another 10 to 20 minutes at the counter.
- Fifteen posts give the hours as 3 pm to 1 am and thirteen say closed Thursdays, but all of these are copied from the listing. In practice ordering can close on busy days.
