Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts call it clean, and they say what they saw: a spotless grill plate already set when they arrived, entrance glass wiped clear, and a tidy room of about eight four-person tables.
  2. Four posts say the owner was friendly. One was told to flip the rib meat once, three seconds a side; another found side-dish refills handled warmly. One post says the pork belly was fetched straight from the butcher next door when ordered.
  3. Three posts came with family — a nephew on leave from the army, children, a family meal — and two came as a couple. The family with children had the kids share one bowl of beef and radish soup. Several posts stopped in on army visits or discharge trips.
  4. Three posts describe the seating and all mention four-person tables — about eight of them, by one count. One post notes there are no private rooms, just an open hall.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 6 posts read)

Nobody mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — we don't know, which is not the same as there being none. One post says the shop is on the ground floor.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender — worth checking, since this is a market building.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 8 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts split one to one on size: a February 2025 post expected a cramped market shop and found plenty of tables, while an August 2026 post says the restaurant is not large.
  • Four posts give opening hours, all copied from a listing rather than observed. The two February 2025 posts say 10:00–22:00 (last order 21:00 in one); the two 2026 posts say 10:00–21:00 (last order 20:30 in one), so closing seems to have moved an hour earlier in between. All four give a 14:30–16:30 break. Only one post mentions closing days, copying "no days off".
  • Prices are given dish by dish, but no post says what a whole meal for two came to. One post said it is on the pricey side, as you would expect for hanu.
  • The 20% refund for soldiers is copied from the shop's own notice. No post says it received it; one that paid with Hwacheon local vouchers says no soldier discount was applied.
  • Nobody describes getting there by bus or public transport; one post only says its spot inside the market makes it easy to reach.
  • No post mentions waiting for a table — which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a queue. One post booked ahead and found the table already set.
  • Two posts give the phone number as 0507-1352-9237; one gives 033-442-9237 and one has 0507-1352-9231, likely a typo. For booking, the number ending 9237 is the safer bet.
  • Of the seven visit posts, one (February 2025) was written by an invited reviewer, and a December 2024 post reads like promotion though it discloses nothing. The claim that every ingredient is domestic is the shop's own line, copied by two posts, so we don't count it.
