Haewon Hongge Muhan Ripil
해원 홍게 무한리필 Haewon (海園) means 'sea garden', the hanja the shop uses on its own Instagram; hongge is red snow crab and muhan ripil means all-you-can-eat refills.

A red snow crab and live squid house at Cheongho-ro 88-1, Sokcho, about a 15-minute walk along the shore from Sokcho Beach and down an alley. All-you-can-eat steamed crab is 35,000 won for adults; live squid is sold by the animal at market price, either as hoe or flat-sliced po — recorded anywhere from 6,000 won (25 Aug 2026) to 18,000 won (late September). Hand your crab shells and innards to the kitchen and they make fried rice with them. We read 11 posts from 18 Aug to 20 Oct 2026; 9 describe a visit (one was about a hotel and was set aside, one is a duplicate cross-post by the same author).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- On busy days the crab runs out first. One post arrived just after 7 pm on a Saturday to a full room with groups waiting; that evening the crab refills had closed and the squid was sold out — they only got a table because they had phoned ahead. An October post found just one other party there. Those are the only two posts on waiting, one each way.
- Many take the squid away. Two posts packed up hoe and po to eat at their lodging. One couple took three squid as hoe and one as po for 24,000 won, after staff told them five or six squid would fill two people; the other came after the nearby open-air squid stalls had no catch that day.
- Children have their own prices: 20,000 won for primary-school age, 5,000 won for ages 5–7. Both posts that brought children say they ate well — one watched them pick up the crab legs themselves; the other was three families, twelve people.
- One post got 5,000 won off one drink through a review event; an Instagram story counts instead of a receipt review. The same post notes everything is self-service, including fetching your own drinks.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
No post says which floor the shop is on or whether there are stairs; the '1st floor' in the address is only the registered address.
No post mentions a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that there's a problem.
No post says whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 8 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Posts disagree on side dishes: one says you get only the squid with gochujang and soy sauce; another mentions a self-serve banchan bar. One each; nothing in the dates explains the difference.
- Squid prices change daily; one post says the shop posts the day's rate on Instagram, and the post that paid 17,000 won on 5 Sep called it expensive. Three posts agree on 35,000 won for adult crab refills, but only one gives a whole-meal total (24,000 won, takeaway).
- Late-August squid prices (6,000 and 11,000 won) and September prices (17,000 and 18,000 won) are from different points in the season; we have not averaged them. Nothing suggests a move or change of owner.
- Three posts give the same hours — daily 10:00–21:00, last order 20:30, closing early once the day's catch is gone — but all three copied them from the listing. No post mentions a closing day. One post arrived after 9:30 am and was glad it was open in the morning.
- Three posts give the phone number 0507-1317-4335. One post actually booked — phoning ahead secured them a table in the evening. Another advises calling first to check whether the crab season is closed.
- No post describes getting there by bus or train. Two walked: about 15 minutes from Sokcho Beach, about 25 from the open-air squid stalls.
- Two posts went as a couple, one with a friend, one as three families together; none went alone. One post found plenty of seating inside.
- One author posted the same 13-restaurant Sokcho list on both Naver and Tistory, with Coupang affiliate links; we counted it once. An October post found the crab bodies poorly filled, and a September post put the meat yield around 60% while the crabs were still filling out — crab quality likely varies with the season.
