A three-day coffee street festival in Seongnam-dong, central Ulsan (not Seongnam city near Seoul), from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, 10:00–20:00. Entry is free and you do not need to book to browse. Roasters and cafés line the street with tasting stalls, there are free brewing workshops, barista competitions and busking. Alongside the official listing, we read 66 blog posts from past years and picked 20 written by people who actually went.

Official sources: the Korea Tourism Organization listing (updated 23 June 2026) and the festival website. For blogs we searched each year separately: 6 posts for 2023, 30 for 2024 and 30 for 2025. Of these, 16 (2024) and 10 (2025) described a real visit; we picked the 10 most concrete each year, so 20 of 66 overall. We found no first-hand posts for 2023. Some picked posts were self-funded; for others sponsorship is unclear.

Visiting from abroad

Every post we read was in Korean and none described foreign tourists. Foreign mentions were exhibitors: a café from Osaka, an Ethiopian coffee stall, and foreign staff at one booth. Neither the festival website nor the KTO listing has English information, and we could not confirm English help on site. You do not need to book anything to browse. In past years workshops ran on paper vouchers handed out at the information booth, explained in Korean, so a translation app helps.

Weather and crowds

Late autumn. Past visitors had mild, sunny days in 2025, but in 2024 rain on the final Sunday made some booths pack up early. It is an open street with little cover, so check the forecast (not yet available for these dates when we checked). Even the Friday was busy from the afternoon; around 11:00 was calmer. Note that in 2025 many booths were still setting up at the 10:00 opening, events began around 13:00, and some stalls shut after 19:00. For a quieter visit, aim for Friday between 11:00 and noon.

Getting there and access

The festival fills the whole of Culture Street (Munhwa-ui Geori) in Jung-gu, Ulsan. From KTX Ulsan Station it is about 20 km, roughly 40 minutes by taxi; from Taehwagang Station (Donghae Line) about 17 minutes, Ulsan Airport about 20 minutes, the intercity bus terminal about 15 minutes. Local buses stop at Okgyo-dong, Seongnam-dong and Old Ulsan Elementary School stops. By taxi, show the driver the Korean landmark below; roads inside the festival are closed, so expect to be dropped at the edge on a main road. Past visitors found nearby car parks full early, even the free temporary lot on a Friday afternoon. No shuttle bus has been announced.

No post mentioned wheelchairs, pushchairs or toilets, and the official sources say nothing on step-free access, so we could not confirm either. What past visitors do tell us: booths were packed closely and moving sideways was awkward, the street is block-paved, and there were chairs and tables by the main stage. In 2025 pregnant visitors with proof could skip workshop queues. Weekend afternoons are the hardest time to get around.

Year by year

Autumn 2024

2024 ran Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October. Visitors counted over 60 exhibitors, a 'black-and-white barista' knockout and a latte-art contest. Workshop vouchers came from a lucky dip at the entrance or a social-media post, and crowds led to a one-session limit. Macaron making cost 1,000 won. It rained on the last day.

Autumn 2025

2025 ran Friday 31 October to Sunday 2 November. The organisers report 40,000 visitors, 70 booths and 64 competitors that year. There were latte-art and brewing throwdowns, a mint-colour dress code that earned a free coffee, a weekend stamp tour, Americano vouchers for local shop receipts, and a national-team barista pouring free lattes. It fell on Halloween, so face-painted children were everywhere. Some complained many booths were not ready at opening on the first day.

Tips from people who went

  • Collect a workshop voucher at the information booth first; past visitors queued without one and were turned away.
  • In 2025 wearing mint and bringing a tumbler earned perks. This year's dress code is not yet announced; check the official Instagram or website.
  • Last time, spending 5,000 won at a booth got you a lucky-draw ticket, drawn at 6pm.
  • Taste before you buy beans or drip bags; some years sold only small bags.
  • Bring your own cup and a small container for rinse water.
  • Buy desserts you like when you see them; some stalls shut after 7pm.
  • Jungang Market's food alley is nearby for a cheap lunch.
