Ido Bonga

이도본가 Bonga (本家) means 'the main house' or 'the original family house'; the posts do not say what Ido refers to.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

A short-rib restaurant on the second floor of the Sky Palace building right beside Seodaejeon Station plaza. Galbitang is 16,000 won, the seokgalbi set and the scallion beef bulgogi are 18,000 won a head (two minimum), and braised short ribs run 45,000-69,000 won; every order comes with 12 to 16 banchan, and diners pull a free americano afterwards. We read 30 posts, from September 20 to October 22, 2026, all from people who ate there: 10 ordered the seokgalbi set, 8 the spicy braised ribs, 7 the galbitang.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The after-meal americano is free: 20 posts say so, and several explain the routine — pull an espresso at the machine by the entrance and top it up in an ice cup kept in the fridge. One notes the cups have lids so you can take it out.
  2. Posts that counted the banchan reached 12, 12, 12, 13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 14 and 16 dishes — quail eggs in soy, acorn jelly, lotus root, pumpkin salad, jellyfish salad — each in a small black dish. Twelve posts say you top up kimchi and radish kimchi yourself at the self bar. One post notes a lone galbitang gets just kimchi and kkakdugi; two say bibimbap comes with chilled cucumber soup.
  3. There is no grill at the table. Seokgalbi is grilled in the kitchen, sliced and brought on a hot plate over onions, and the braised ribs arrive fully cooked — five posts say you never cook it yourself, one parent fed it straight to the kids, another liked not smelling of smoke. Only the scallion bulgogi is simmered and stirred at the table.
  4. One wall is floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking the station plaza and the road; 18 posts mention the window seats — sunlight by day, city lights at night.

  1. Ten posts say the banchan or the meat dishes are not salty, and none says otherwise; several give that as the reason it suits older parents.

Parking

Posts saying you can park18 of 29 posts

Parking is in the building's basement-level retail lot. Eighteen posts parked there and nine found plenty of space. Ten give three free hours, one says two and one says four. Two say you must give your plate number at the counter for it to be free, and one found the bays so narrow it was hard to get out of the car. Several advise turning in right past the ground-floor shop Attimong.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 18 (of 29 posts read)
Lift to the floor6 of 29 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 29 posts

It is on the second floor, not underground: 18 posts went up to it. Four took the escalator from the main entrance and six the elevator; one got lost finding it on the second floor.

No one wrote from experience about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post copies a listing line saying the entrance is wheelchair-friendly; we did not count it. All we know is that there is an elevator.

No post says whether the toilets are inside the restaurant or out in the building corridor; one says only that they are separate for men and women.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opinions split three to three on whether the spicy braised ribs are hot. Those who found it mild had picked the lowest or middle level and described it as sweetish.
  • These 30 posts cluster in the first month or so after opening, and nearly all use the same keyword hashtags and the same running order (hours, parking, review event, free coffee). One discloses sponsorship, one says it got 30% off, the rest say nothing. Treat the praise with caution and lean on the numbers. The '48-hour aging', '72-hour low-temperature aging' and '20 natural ingredients' lines are the restaurant's own claims, copied — and the posts can't even agree on the aging time.
  • Nearly every post says it is next to Seodaejeon Station, but only three describe getting there by public transport: two say you can walk from Exit 2 of Oryong subway station (two copied the distance as 722 m), one mentions a bus stop out front.
  • Only one post mentions waiting: it walked straight in around 11:30. Another arrived before noon to a near-empty room, and one at 2 p.m. had the place to itself. Whether there is a line at the height of lunch or on weekend evenings, we don't know.
  • Five posts went with family, three with friends, three with a partner. Two mention a 'solo diners welcome' sign at the entrance, but no post was written by someone who ate alone. Four went with children, and five noted high chairs.
  • Opening hours: 21 posts agree on 11:00-21:00 daily with a 15:00-17:00 break, and 17 give last orders at 20:30. One copied info block says 17:30, which looks like a typo. One post says there is no closing day.
  • A meal costs 11,000-14,000 won for bibimbap, 16,000 for galbitang, 18,000 a head for seokgalbi or bulgogi (two minimum); two sharing a small spicy braise with two bowls of rice pay 47,000. Four posts called it good value; two said it isn't cheap or seemed pricey at first. All 30 posts fall within one month, so we can't tell whether prices have moved.
  • Eleven posts give the phone number 042-533-2120. Posts say reservations are possible, but none describes actually booking by phone.
