The Cheonan flagship of 1984 Hanwoo Classic sits in unit 104 on the ground floor of a block in Buldang-dong. It serves tenderloin and sirloin as something close to a course — and you do not grill it yourself. A member of staff works the table from the vegetables through to the scallops. Not charcoal but a cast-iron plate over induction, which several writers credit for the lack of smoke and smell. A beef-and-radish soup arrives free, and the meal ends with milk ice cream and a coffee to take away. The same owners run a booking-only private-room restaurant, 1984 Hanwoo Classic Privé, in unit 101 of the same building — a different door. The posts we read run from February to September 2026.

What sets it apart
- You do not cook here. Eight posts say so, and all eight describe the same order: vegetables first, then tenderloin, then sirloin, then the scallop and shiitake at the end. Three were asked how they wanted it done; five note that the grilling is paced to how fast you eat. What is ready is cut and set on your plate or on the rack. Four make the same point — that somebody always ends up tending the grill, and here nobody has to. Two who brought children say the beef was cut to child-sized pieces without being asked. One writer admits to leaving a tip.
- Nobody records queueing. Two record the opposite: a quiet lunch table, and a Lunar New Year holiday when there was hardly anyone else in the room. Two booked; one of them rang the day before, found a table, sent her order by text and got a confirmation back. But almost none of the nine went at a busy dinner hour — they went at lunch, early evening or on opening — so we cannot tell you what it is like when it fills up.
- The origin board is large and on the wall, and four writers read it: Korean beef, Korean vegetables. Two also mention beef hanging in a dry-ager in view. We did not count the other claims — the top one per cent, the 720 hours of wet ageing, the two per cent of the animal, the scallops sent up from Jangheung. Four or more posts carry them in nearly identical words, and the writers themselves say they were told. We have not verified any of it.
- You pick up a coffee on the way out. Four mention the machine by the door and two took one; hot or iced, in a cup one writer liked enough to say so. Two make the same argument — that not having to find a café afterwards makes the bill easier to swallow, which is its own comment on the prices. One notes other drinks by the door, and one that you can take a branded lighter if you want.

Parking
7 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Parking is hard in this part of town, and this building has a basement car park. Seven posts raise it and five of those describe actually parking. Four put it at three basement levels; one praises an entrance wide enough for a large car and notes you can also pull up on the street outside. One says that quoting your plate after the meal buys up to three hours free; three mention a voucher for the municipal car park when it is full. They do not agree on how much room there is, though: one writer found it emptier than expected, while another arrived twenty minutes before opening to find it already full.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
The address puts it on the ground floor, unit 104, and not one writer says so in their own words. Nobody mentions stairs or describes walking in off the street. Three do say the sign is large and easy to find, which reads like something visible from the road, and one came up in the lift from the basement car park and saw the restaurant's sign as she stepped out. The car park runs three levels down. No post places the restaurant itself below ground or upstairs.
Not one writer says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. The words for step, threshold and ramp appear nowhere in the nine posts. One mentions high chairs and two brought children, and none of those three brought a pushchair through the door. One rides a lift up from the basement car park, so there is evidently a way in without stairs — but nobody describes what lies between the lift and the door. Four call the tables widely spaced and the room generous, which sounds promising once you are inside. That is a guess too. We will not say it works and we will not say it does not.
Nobody mentions the toilets. Whether they are inside the restaurant or out in the building, whether they are split by sex, whether they are clean — not one line in nine posts. It is unit 104 on the ground floor of a commercial block and one writer rides a lift up from the basement, so they may well be shared with the building, but that is our guess. One of the excluded posts does list separate men's and women's — that is the listing information for the other branch across town, and we have not carried it over. The same name does not mean the same building.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 10 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- There are four restaurants of this name in Cheonan, and twenty-one of the thirty posts were about the wrong one. There is the High-End branch by the lake, the Wolfgang branch inside the lakeside park, the Privé in unit 101 of this very building, and this one, unit 104. Ten posts were about the first two and seven about the Privé. The street address is identical down to the building number, so only the unit number separates them. One writer happens to describe the layout exactly: two doors into one building, the left one the open dining room, the right one — with a ribbon on it — the private rooms. Another booked this restaurant, arrived, and was walked next door to the Privé, where she ate. Unit 101 takes bookings only, serves set courses only, and prices differently. The remaining three were a bakery review, an automatically generated neighbourhood list, and a post published with its template still showing — it ends with the words 'opening hours: (enter hours and closing days)'. Check which branch you are looking at when you search, too.
- Only one of the nine posts names a price. In February 2026 a family of four paid ₩266,000 for the VIP set plus fried rice and a soybean stew, with nothing to drink; the writer notes it took his holiday bonus. The other eight give the name of what they ate — a lunch set, lunch course A, a VIP set, a premium set — and no figure at all. Nor could we establish whether those are four names for one menu or four menus. The twenty posts we excluded are full of prices — ₩98,000 a head, ₩168,000 for two, ₩190,000 a head — but those belong to the High-End and the Privé and we have not carried them over. Nobody calls this restaurant expensive; the two who call it good value are talking about the single-bowl lunches and the free coffee.
- Nobody writes down the opening hours. Not one of the nine posts gives a time the doors open or close. Three came at lunch, two in the evening, and one arrived twenty minutes before opening without saying when that was. Two mention a lunch special, so it is certainly open in the daytime. Two give the phone number and they agree: 041-414-1984, as of February 2026. The posts we excluded do carry hours — but those are the High-End's and the Privé's, and we have not borrowed them. Ring before you go.
- Nobody writes about getting here without a car. No bus, no taxi, nobody on foot, in any of the nine posts. Four describe where it stands — the eating lane in Buldang-dong, between the flats and the sports park, the middle of the commercial strip — but that is where it is, not how you reach it. Three call it easy to get to and all three go straight on to talk about parking: they mean easy to drive to. Five came by car.
- We cannot promise that nine posts mean nine people. Four fall within eight days in June 2026 and two on a single day in August, and the same sentences recur through them almost word for word — the two per cent of the animal, the 720 hours of wet ageing, the sign being large and easy to find. There is firmer evidence than that: one writer filed a post on this branch and another on the High-End; a second writer filed one here and another on the Wolfgang. They read as accounts covering a chain between them. Not one of them discloses payment. We kept all nine, because each does record what was eaten and in what order it was grilled — but we counted none of the marketing lines they share. Four carry something nobody else says: a pregnant writer glad of the lack of smoke, a family bill written out, a lunch of spicy beef soup and raw-beef bibimbap, and a holiday meal in an empty room.
