DIMTAO

딤타오 Dimtao The name puts 'dim' from dim sum in front of 'tao'; none of the posts explains the second syllable.

Compiled from 23 blog posts read in fullSources →

Dimtao is a Hong Kong-style dim sum house on Haeridan-gil in Haeundae, Busan (25 Udong 1-ro). The most-ordered dishes were xiaolongbao and fried stuffed eggplant (11 posts each) and har gow (9). In October 2026 a plate of dim sum ran 8,300-10,300 won, wonton noodles 10,800 won and Cantonese pork noodles 14,000 won; one pair spent 60,000 won on six dishes. We read 30 posts dated June 14 to October 20, 2026; 23 describe an actual visit. We set aside four that were about other places (the Seomyeon and Samjeong Tower branches, the sister brand TAOFAN, and a post where the writer found it closed and ate elsewhere), and three only introduce or list the restaurant.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Waits are mixed: 7 posts queued, 11 walked straight in. Three gave times: a party of six who joined the Tabling app queue at 11:09 on a Sunday and got in around 12:10, a pair who waited an hour and a half via the remote queue, and one who got in after 10 minutes behind two groups. The walk-ins went at the 11:30 weekday opening, after 1 pm on a Sunday, right at the 5 pm end of the Saturday break, or on a rainy late evening. A third-time visitor felt the lines had shortened, perhaps because more branches have opened.
  2. Three posts mention somewhere to wait: space both outside and inside, a separate air-conditioned waiting room, and a small bench out front. One post noted that a Tabling remote-queue spot is only confirmed once you are within about 50 metres of the shop.
  3. Three posts noticed the kitchen through a window from the dining room, with staff folding dumplings; one described watching from across a glass wall in a separate building.
  4. Eleven of the 23 visits ordered the fried stuffed eggplant. Four called the coating crisp; two said it soaks up a lot of oil and gets heavy after the first piece.
6 more
  1. Five posts found something spicy (four the spicy wonton noodles, one the fried rice); two said otherwise (one about the spicy wonton noodles, one about the pork noodles). The heat in the spicy wonton noodles reads as mala-style spice, which one writer struggled with.
  2. Three posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table; one noted every dish on the menu has a photo.
  3. Four posts sat by the windows, which look out on bamboo and a small garden; one wished the garden were better kept.
  4. Posts split two to two on price: two called it not cheap or pricey, two found 60,000 won for two people reasonable or good value for treating someone. Several pointed out that extra pickles and tea cost extra.
  5. Companions: friends in 6 posts, family in 3 (a mother, a son, a sister), a partner or spouse in 3, and one party of six, who noted there is one six-seat table but ended up split across a two-top and a four-top.
  6. One post said travellers can leave suitcases by the counter.

Parking

2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 23 posts

There is no restaurant parking. Two posts that drove used the paid Haeridan-gil public lot, one waiting five minutes for a space; other posts saying parking is unavailable were copying listing info.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 23 posts

No post describes the floor or any stairs from experience. The '1st floor' in the address is just the listing; one post says the building is a converted old house.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a stroller or wheelchair. That does not mean there is a problem, only that no one mentioned it. A high chair appears only in one post's copied info block.

Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is indoors and clean. Nobody said whether it is separated by gender or how large it is.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post describes getting there by subway: close to Exit 4 of Haeundae Station, near the start of Haeridan-gil. Others citing a five-minute walk copied that from listings, and one of them actually took a taxi.
  • Fifteen posts list the hours as 11:30-20:30 with a 15:00-17:00 break, last orders at 14:30 and 20:00, closed Tuesdays, mostly copied from listings. One wrote 'daily' and one gave last order as 19:50. One diner said staff announced last orders at 8 pm.
  • Most posts give the phone number as 051-741-3638 (one lists 0507-1426-3638). Nobody says whether phone reservations are taken; people queue through the Tabling app or in person.
  • Three posts, built from an info block and generic praise with little about what was ordered, look like templated promotion, though none discloses sponsorship. One of them mentions chicken feet and braised short ribs, which no other visitor saw on the menu.
