Cafe Haeuri
카페해우리 A one-woman cafe by exit 6 at Bexco station in Busan, built around red beans she boils herself — shaved ice, sweet bean porridge and winter bungeoppang.
Data as of · Published ·
Cafe Haeuri is a small cafe in U2-dong, Haeundae, Busan — you see it as you come out of exit 6 at Bexco station, right at the mouth of the U2-dong market. One thing holds the menu together: the owner boils her own red beans. From them come three kinds of shaved ice, a sweet bean porridge, a bean latte, and in winter the fish-shaped bungeoppang. The coffee is a separate matter, made with specialty beans, and an americano is ₩3,500. Half past ten in the morning until eight at night. We read twenty-six posts, from December 2024 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- Everything baked here is baked after you order it — eleven posts say so, and they mean all three: the bungeoppang, the croffle and the coffee-bean buns. Four watched from beside the counter; one remarks that the area around the bungeoppang iron was clean. Two describe the pleasure of something hot from the iron against the cold ice. It does mean waiting: one says the croffle took a while, another waited about ten minutes for bungeoppang.
- A lot of it leaves the shop. Thirteen posts mention takeaway and six bought nothing to eat in. One watched a steady stream of people coming in only for bungeoppang. Even the shaved ice travels: one writer's did not melt at all in its foam box, and another was sent home with an ice pack and extra ice on top. One warns that the ice container's lid does not seal, so carry it upright. Three record a ₩500 discount on coffee taken away.
- Nine posts call it cheap. Of the ten that talk about price at all, nine land there, and two make the same point — that this is Haeundae, at today's prices. One writer ordered four things and did not reach ₩20,000. One post calls it expensive, and hedges: bungeoppang from inside a cafe costs more than street bungeoppang, but you can trust it and it is packed full.
- Six posts are partly about the owner, who bakes, serves and takes the money by herself. The incidents repeat in kind: one was left in peace at a table until closing; one was handed a bungeoppang for nothing, on the grounds that it is best straight off the iron; one had extra ice piled on a takeaway bowl. One records a phone call afterwards, to say the rice cake had been left out of her order.
- Four posts call it quiet — not boisterous, softly lit, low music. One was glad of it for the conversation. It is not always so: one writer, arriving after lunch on a weekday, was startled by how full it was.
- The front is glass. Five posts say so — the sun coming straight in, the window seat and the people going past, the room looking bigger than it is. One ate there on a rainy winter day watching the Centum side of the city through it.

Parking
2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 2 of 26 posts |

The shop has no car park; people use the public one for the U-dong market next door. But only two writers actually parked — one found it easy and walked straight over, one looked up from the car and saw the sign. The other twelve have it only as a line in a header block. The rate is quoted two ways: three say ₩300 per ten minutes, one says ₩1,000 for thirty and ₩1,500 for an hour, and adds that the car park itself closes at eight. One notes the cafe does not validate.

Getting there

Getting inside
No post says which floor it is on, or whether there are steps at the door. In twenty-six posts the words for floor and stairs do not appear. One describes the building as a red two-storey brick one — but that is the building, not the shop's place in it. Three writers walked in off the street after seeing the pavement sign, so it clearly opens onto the pavement; whether there is a lip at the door, we do not know.
No post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Across all twenty-six, the words for wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, threshold and step never appear once — scanned by machine, checked by hand. Three writers brought a child, and not even those three mention a pushchair. One header block says there are no high chairs; that line was copied from the shop's listing, so we did not count it.
Not one post writes about the toilet — whether it is inside the shop or shared with the building. In twenty-six posts, nothing.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Something to hold in mind while reading about this place: the shop gives things away for receipt reviews. Five posts describe the offer — buy five or more bungeoppang, post a Naver receipt review, take a keyring or a hand towel. One writer was asked for a review at her table and given a bungeoppang keyring. Two more posts disclose sponsorship (one a meal voucher, one a #sponsored tag in the body). Exactly one states that she paid her own way; the other eighteen say nothing. Because the offer is tied to bungeoppang, the unusual weight of praise for the bungeoppang is not something to take at face value.
- The posts do not agree on how big it is. Seven call it small, two call it roomy. Two writers counted the tables and both say six — which would settle it for the small side, except that one post says there are plenty of tables and room for a group, and another calls the tables fairly numerous. Two remarks may bridge the gap: that the glass front makes it look bigger, and that pushing tables together seats about six. One notes that most tables are for two, with a single four-seater.
- Two writers say they came by subway — one states it flatly, the other came down off Jangsan mountain to Bexco station and stopped in. The rest repeat the same line — 44 metres from exit 6, one minute on foot — without an account of getting here; fourteen posts carry it. Even those disagree slightly: one minute, one to two, three. One writer lives nearby and walks.
- Nobody queued. But four posts found it full: one walked in to a full room and got the last table; one was startled by the crowd after lunch on a weekday; one watched a room with plenty of tables fill up within minutes; one saw a weekend of walk-ins and app orders. With about six tables there may well be no seat free — though one writer notes that people eat and go quickly.
- The posts disagree about when bungeoppang is sold. The pavement sign says all year round, and one writer got some in March. But a June visitor was told it is not made in summer, and two others call it a winter item. Of the twelve posts that ate it, eleven fall between December and March and the twelfth is late March. If you are going for bungeoppang in summer, ask first. The shaved ice goes the other way — it is sold in winter too, and three posts ate it in January and February.
- Prices have gone up. A December 2024 post paid ₩4,500 each for the bean porridge and the bean latte; from January 2025 both are ₩5,000. The teas and ades rose again in 2026 — the lemon, grapefruit and flower teas from ₩4,000 to ₩4,300, the ades and the tangerine juice from ₩4,500 to ₩4,800, according to a September 2026 photo of the board. Only the three shaved ices held: ₩5,000, ₩5,500 and ₩6,500 in March 2025 and the same in September 2026.
- The posts disagree about Sundays. Twelve say it is closed every Sunday. But one from July 2025 gives Sunday hours of 12:00–18:00, and one from September 2026 gives 11:00–18:00 — while a May 2026 post between them says closed again. The opening time splits too: sixteen say half past ten, the two 2026 posts say ten, and one from July 2025 says, alone, eleven to nine daily. We cannot tell which is current — for a Sunday visit, ring ahead.
- Three of the twenty-nine confirmed posts were dropped, leaving twenty-six. Two were about an entirely different business: one is a tour of fifteen lunch places in Yeouido, Seoul, where 'Haeuri' is a Korean restaurant in a tower basement; the other is a Busan travel diary in which 'Haeuri' is not a shop at all but the nickname of the friends she travelled with. The third is the shop's Naver listing pasted whole — its options still in programme-list form, its visitor-review tallies copied line by line, and not one word about eating anything. And the twenty-six posts are twenty-five people: one blogger wrote twice, in March and July 2025.
