Manjak

만작 The name is read by one diner as meaning fullness — 'you leave full, heart included'; the posts give no fuller explanation.

A Korean-beef charcoal grill on the ground floor of Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 27-3 in Namcheon-dong, Busan, beneath the jazz bar Jazzpresso. Its draw is beef tongue, rare in Korea: five of the six visit posts ordered it. Assorted beef and tongue cost 19,900 won per 100 g (December 2024 post), and meals end with soybean stew or jjapaghetti noodles. One post says the owner runs it alone. We read 10 posts dated January 2025 to July 2026; we set aside 2 as about something else, and 6 describe actual visits.

What sets it apart

  1. No post called it expensive. All three that weighed the price said it was fair — 'good value too', 'reasonable for premium hanwoo', 'this much for this price?'. A December 2025 post put the assorted spread at 70,000 won and 200 g of tongue at about 40,000 won, in line with 19,900 won per 100 g in December 2024. One post notes the assortment and single cuts cost the same per weight.
  2. All four posts that mentioned the owner called him kind. One got steamed egg and a plate of brisket on the house ('first place I've seen give brisket free'); another says the owner helped with the grilling. A third was handed a rare cut from the base of the tongue.
  3. Both posts that talked about quantity said it was generous — 'the portions are enormous', with the tofu and fresh kimchi sides left over every time. One family of three that usually stops at three or four portions ordered three more.
  4. All four posts that said who they went with went as a family. One mentions the children loving the complimentary steamed egg; another, a middle-schooler trying tongue for the first time. One family booked ahead for an early Christmas lunch after Mass.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 5 posts read)

One post places it 'on the ground floor below Jazzpresso' — street level, not a basement. Whether there is a step at the door, nobody said.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that it's impossible.

No post said where the restroom is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 7 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Three of the six visit posts are by one blogger (December 2024, January 2025, February 2026). Another post repeats that blogger's details almost verbatim, so we did not count the overlapping parts. The sample is small.
  • No visitor described getting there by subway or bus; '10 minutes' walk from Namcheon Station exit 3' is copied venue info. Visitors say it's in an alley opposite the Ilgijang cafe and within walking distance of Gwangalli beach.
  • No post mentions waiting. One found it empty at an early lunch; another was once turned away because ingredients had run out. We don't know what peak evenings are like.
  • No post describes going with friends or a group; one only noticed a young couple sharing a grill at the counter seats.
  • Only one post gave opening hours (noon to 10 pm, break 3 to 5 pm). No one stated the closing day; a post copying venue info said only that some weekdays are closed. Check before going.
  • Three posts gave prices, and none priced the pork skirt, tendon braise or noodles. No post gave a total bill for a meal.
  • No post listed a phone number. One family booked ahead, so reservations seem possible, but how to make one isn't stated.
