Raw fish

OUYA!

오우야 Ouya Ouya is an exclamation of delight, something like 'oh wow' — one blogger wrote that the sound comes out on its own at the first bite.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

Ouya is an aged-sashimi house tucked down an alley off the bar street near Dongnae Station exits 2 and 4, next to Daebaktong. We read 21 posts from July 18 to October 20, 2026, and all 21 ate there. You pick one seasonal aged-sashimi platter in small, medium or large, and it comes on a single tray with thick-cut fish, steamed egg, acorn-jelly soup, roe rice, sushi rice, laver, greens and a row of sauces. The small was 49,000 won in posts from August on; the July post had it at 45,000. The July set included cold soba, and from August that slot goes to acorn-jelly soup. Four posts say they paid their own way, one discloses sponsorship, and the other 16 say nothing.

Rows without a count: 10 of 20 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The fish is cut thick. Seventeen posts mention it; one compared the pieces to cubed radish kimchi, another said each slice could have been two. The fish changes with the season: the two July posts got salmon, sea bass and amberjack, while September and October posts list three or four of gizzard shad, flatfish, salmon, amberjack and red sea bream.
  2. When you sit down you get a pouch of pear and bellflower-root juice; 18 posts mention it. Almost every post also notes the spoons arriving in a cup of hot water, a torched-sugar potato salad before the fish, and a box of candy to pick from on the way out.
  3. Fifteen posts call the spread generous: the tray fills the table, and two people on a small platter left full. One post landed differently, saying it would rather have had fewer sides and more fish. Many posts were also given extra dishes on the house, such as grilled or braised fish or fried shrimp heads, but what came out differs from post to post.
  4. Fifteen posts say the owner or staff were friendly. It is mostly the same scene: whoever brings the tray walks you through the fish and how to use each sauce, and tells you the house soy is blended to be mild so you can dip generously.
2 more
  1. Twelve posts walked from Dongnae Station. You cannot see the place from the main road; you turn into the alley by the CU or Daepae Gajoa and go past Daebaktong, and most posts say the blue 'This way to OUYA!' banners along the way kept them from getting lost.
  2. Ten posts call the room clean, and five mention the open kitchen where you can watch the fish being cut. Blue tiles and blue drum-barrel tables come up in nearly every post. One post singled out the restroom as spotless.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 21 posts

Only one post checked parking itself and found no lot of its own; another drove and used the Dongnae Station public lot. The 'no parking, use the public lot' lines elsewhere are copied-in info.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no other floor.

No one wrote about a step at the door, stairs, or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. The posts only say the approach is down a narrow alley.

No post says from experience whether the restroom is inside or split by gender. One info block lists it as indoors, but that is copied-in; another post only says it was clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of speed differ. Three posts say food came quickly; one, visiting at 10 p.m. the night before the Chuseok holiday, waited over 40 minutes and wished they had been told.
  • On size, it is one against two: one post found the room roomier than expected, while two describe about ten or eleven tables, set a little close together, in a compact space.
  • No post says it actually queued. One arrived at 10 p.m. to no wait; another saw the room fill at the 5 p.m. weekday opening and guessed weekends would mean a line. Reservations appear only in copied-in info blocks.
  • Company: three posts went with friends, one with a sibling, one as a married couple; the rest just say 'two of us'. No post went with children, alone, or in a large group.
  • Twenty posts give the same hours, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.; last order is midnight in 12 posts and 1 a.m. in one. Nearly all of this is copied from info blocks. Only one post names Tuesday as a closing day, while four mention irregular closures, such as one day a week or days off when short-staffed. Check before you go.
  • Prices depend on when. The small was 45,000 won in July 2026 and 49,000 from August. The September menu shows 69,000 for medium and 89,000 for large; one October 1 post lists 45,000, 65,000 and 89,000, which doesn't match the others. Two people sharing a small with a bottle or two of soju lands in the high 50,000s. Two posts called it good value; none called it expensive.
  • Twelve posts list the phone as 010-9810-5990; one gives 010-2311-9843 for private-event inquiries. No post says it booked ahead.
  • The posts arrive in bursts: four on October 1 and three on October 5, all following the same sequence from welcome juice through hot-water spoons, potato brulee, the tray, freebies and candy, and two share whole phrases. Only one discloses sponsorship, but some of the 16 silent posts may be sponsored visits. Claims that the sauces are house-made or the fish is prepped and sold out the same day are the shop's own words, repeated, and we did not count them.
