Sisitori
시시토리 The house explains the name as a chicken rice bowl eaten with four sauces in four ways — shi is Japanese for four and tori for chicken.
Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →
A Japanese-style detached house a short climb up an alley from the Millak end of Gwangalli Beach, serving a single set: charcoal-grilled chicken thigh over rice, a chicken take on hitsumabushi. Salt (shio) is 13,900 won and soy tare 14,400 won for a regular; the bowl comes on one tray with a poached egg, chicken broth and four sauces, to be eaten plain, with the sauces, mixed into the egg, and finally with broth poured over. The ground floor is a long bar counter; upstairs has four-person tables. We read 30 posts from May 2025 to September 2026, 27 of them from people who went. Two posts about other restaurants were dropped and one that only introduced the place was not counted.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You can watch the chicken being grilled. Eight posts saw it over charcoal from their seat or while waiting. One noted the grill is behind glass so the smoke stays out of the dining area; another noted there is no grill at the table — everything is cooked in the kitchen.
- Waits depend on when you go. Seven posts walked straight in and three waited. The no-wait visits were at weekday lunch, around 2:30 pm on weekends, at opening, and early evening. The waits were about 30 minutes on a summer evening, two groups ahead after 6:30 pm on a Saturday, and one group ahead half an hour after opening. Four posts mentioned chairs or benches to wait on in the yard or inside. Many posts repeated that the queue runs through CatchTable.
- It is reachable by subway. Two posts gave 10 and 12 minutes on foot from Gwangan Station exit 1; one came by bus and one walked down to Gwangan Station afterwards. Two posts mentioned an uphill walk from the beach.
- Writing a Naver or Google review gets you a tsukune or an ade. Four posts actually received one — two the tsukune, two the yuzu ade.
1 more
- Five posts found the tare sweet. One recommended shio instead because the rice is already seasoned and the tare tips it further. Saltiness is split: one post found the rice quite salty, two said it was not.

Parking
2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

There is no parking of its own. Two posts said you cannot park there and four drove and parked elsewhere: one paid 4,500 won for 1 hour 10 minutes at Dongbang Sky lot, one found the Shine lot across the street closer than the Jeil lot the restaurant suggests, and one gave up on the alley and parked at a friend's house. That parking fees are not covered is repeated from the listing.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
It is reachable by subway. Two posts gave 10 and 12 minutes on foot from Gwangan Station exit 1; one came by bus and one walked down to Gwangan Station afterwards. Two posts mentioned an uphill walk from the beach.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 8 of 25 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 2 of 25 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 25 posts |
Seating splits by floor. Eight posts mentioned the upstairs. Downstairs is a long bar where you sit side by side, which many found easy for eating alone; a group of three wrote that sitting in a row felt odd for three or more. Upstairs has four-person tables and several posts sent groups there; one counted three such tables. One post found the upstairs closed at weekend lunch, and one described a room off the ground floor with a single large table for four or more.
Posts only describe a ground floor and an upper floor; nobody mentioned a basement. One post said the upstairs is reached by stairs; nobody mentioned a lift.
Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means we don't know, not that there is none. Two posts mentioned an uphill walk from the beach, one described entering through a Japanese garden and stone path, and one said the upstairs is up a flight of stairs.
The toilets are inside. Two posts mentioned them: one said the women's is upstairs and the men's downstairs; the other said the toilet is upstairs with a hand-washing sink on the ground floor.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The restaurant warns that grilling to order takes about 20 minutes. Two posts said it took about that long; two said food came in roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
- It closes early when ingredients run out. One post arrived at 8 pm to find it closed for the day; another queued after 6:30 pm on a Saturday and became the last table served. A February 2026 post said they ate less than usual because supplies were short.
- The four sauces changed. A July 2025 post listed wasabi, radish purée, shiitake miso and yuzu kosho; a November 2025 post said the miso, yuzu kosho and cabbage had been replaced by yuzu pickled radish and Gyeongsang-style kimchi. Later posts mostly describe the new set; one May 2026 post still lists the old one. Around the same time the side dish changed from a tortilla to grilled rice cake and tsukune.
- Seventeen posts copied the opening hours and all agree: 11:30 am to 9 pm, break 3:30 to 5 pm, last order 8 pm. Posts up to November 2025 said open daily; from January 2026 they list Wednesdays as closed.
- Regular sizes held at 13,900 won (shio) and 14,400 won (tare) from July 2025 to September 2026. The large upcharge was 2,000 won in July 2025 (tare large 16,400) and 3,000 won by September 2026 (shio 16,900, tare 17,400). Six posts said it was not expensive; one first called it a bit pricey and then good value for the quality. One couple paid in the 20,000s for two sets.
- Even the regular is ample. Two posts called the portions large: one put a regular at about 1.2 servings, another ordered large and said regular would do next time. One post copied the house's description: regular is 200 g of chicken, large 1.5 times, extra-large double.
- One post noticed chipped broth bottles and bowls and a menu patched with tape. No other post mentioned this.
- Many posts say it suits solo diners, but only one actually went alone. Three went with friends, two as a couple, two with family and one as a group of three; one family brought children.
- Six posts copied the same phone number, 0507-1407-2467. Nobody said whether you can book by phone; one post recommended reserving through CatchTable for weekend evenings.
