Japanese

Seusibasiku

스시바시쿠 Sushi bar Shiku: one diner was told that 'Shiku' joins the first syllables of the Japanese words shirasu (whitebait) and kujira (whale), and whale figures sit around the counter.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Sushibar Shiku is a counter sushi bar on a side street one block back from Gwangalli Beach in Millak-dong (Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 255beon-gil 45, ground floor). At lunch (12:00 to 15:00) it serves a 30,000-won set of 12 pieces of sushi with chawanmushi, a shrimp fritter, miso soup and dessert. At dinner the chef serves 10, 12 or 15 pieces one at a time across the counter. Three posts from 16 and 17 September give 45,000 won for the 12-piece set, while earlier posts say 40,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 30 June to 6 October 2026. In 25 of them the writer ate there, 3 only describe the place, and we set aside 2 that were really about other restaurants (one with the same name, one upstairs in the same building). The posts agree on the phone number 0507-1384-6223.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All the seating is at the counter. Eleven posts describe sitting at a bar, and two say every seat is a counter seat. No post mentions a table. Six describe an open kitchen where you can watch the fish being prepared; one writer watched the chef portion aged fish for the six diners booked that sitting.
  2. This is a place you book. Ten posts say they reserved or that you can, mostly through CatchTable. One family booked for 5:30 and saw every seat filled by just after six; another writer found it full early in the evening. Nobody wrote of queuing, and one couple found no wait on a Friday evening.
  3. Ten posts call it good value and none call it expensive. Every post that prices the lunch set says 30,000 won. Two posts disclose sponsorship, though, and many more follow the same template, so read this tally with that in mind.
  4. Eight posts say the chefs and staff were kind, and many mention that each piece came with an explanation of how the fish was aged and topped. One diner, uneasy being served piece by piece, asked for the remaining ten on one plate, and the chef plated them on the spot.
3 more
  1. Seven posts describe a date, four a family meal and three a meal with friends. Three writers brought a child, and three saw high chairs, one counting two.
  2. Four posts say it is walkable from exit 1 of Gwangan Station on Line 2; one gives the distance as 770 m. Three writers said the shop has no proper sign and was hard to find.
  3. Three posts say it filled them up more than expected. One writer was full past the tenth of twelve pieces, and another watched the chef shrink the rice, or switch to sashimi, when other diners asked mid-course.

Parking

11 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park11 of 25 posts

Parking depends on the time of day. Eleven posts cover it: around noon to 2 pm you can park in front of the shop (two writers did), and in the evening the shop covers one hour at Dongbang Sky car park (165-18 Millak-dong). One writer says you must register your plate when paying and it is 1,500 won per 30 minutes after that; a June diner stayed 68 minutes and paid 1,500 won. The walk from the car park is two to three minutes.

Where it is

Map showing where Seusibasiku is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Four posts say it is walkable from exit 1 of Gwangan Station on Line 2; one gives the distance as 770 m. Three writers said the shop has no proper sign and was hard to find.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, but no writer described the floor from their own visit.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or about getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. That means we don't know, not that it is fine. Counter seating may mean tall stools, but no one said so either.

No one said whether the toilet is inside the shop. Two posts list separate men's and women's toilets, but only in copied listing blocks, so we have not counted it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The chef's-choice prices seem to have gone up in mid-September 2026. Posts up to 14 September give 40,000 won for 12 pieces, while three from 16 and 17 September give 45,000 won (10 pieces from 35,000 to 40,000; 15 pieces from 50,000 to 55,000). Two posts from those same days still say 40,000 won, possibly copied from an old menu, so check before you go.
  • Eighteen posts give the hours as 12:00 to 01:00 daily, with a 15:00 to 17:00 break and last orders at 00:30; one gives 12:00 to 22:00 with last orders at 21:30. Nearly all of these are copied from the listing.
  • The late-July lunch posts and the mid-September dinner posts share the same info block, place link and hashtags. Only two disclose sponsorship (one review program, one paid ad), but the whole batch may be promotional copy.
