Seokhwachon
석화촌 Seokhwa is an oyster in its shell and chon means village, so the name reads 'Oyster Village' — and the house is best known for its winter oyster bossam.
Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →
A bossam house in the lane behind Gwangalli Beach, near Millak alley market. The pork comes buried in garlic sauce and is wrapped with raw oysters in winter, or spicy stir-fried octopus or boiled octopus the rest of the year. Oyster, nakji and octopus bossam all cost 38,000 won (medium) or 48,000 won (large); one couple paid 50,000 won for a medium oyster bossam plus a chive pancake. Around October 2025 the floor seating in the back was replaced with tables and chairs. We read 30 posts from July 2025 to September 2026; 25 record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The back room changed. Six posts from August to September 2025 describe floor seating, one sitting there because the chair tables were full. Three posts from October 2025 to January 2026 say it all became chairs and tables. Four posts say you still take your shoes off to step up into that area — with chairs, not cushions, as one put it.
- Expect to wait in the evening. Eight posts waited, two walked straight in. They report about 30 minutes, two parties ahead with stools out front to sit on, third in line on a Monday evening, and one party ahead. One regular was surprised to find a queue at 3:30 when doors open at 3. The line runs through CatchTable, and three posts note a two-hour limit when others are waiting.
- The free seaweed soup drew more praise than anything else: sixteen visit posts mention eating it, and six say they got more soup, greens, seaweed or garlic sauce. One noted the refill came at no charge; another was told bean sprouts had run short that day.
- Seven posts found portions generous, two did not: a couple who added a pancake to a medium oyster bossam, and a family of two adults and a child for whom a large octopus bossam fell short. One of these said the pork came lukewarm and dry; another post also wished it were warmer.
2 more
- Whether the nakji bossam is hot splits two to two: two posts found it very spicy, two rated it mild — one at 1.5 out of 5, another noting a spice-shy boyfriend managed fine. The mayonnaise and bean sprouts served with it are there to cool it down.
- Three posts came with children. One with a 19-month-old found a high chair, child cutlery and a separate bowl of soup for the baby; two posts saw high chairs. That parent also admitted hesitating because the place feels a little like a pub.

Parking

Fifteen posts mention parking, nearly all repeating the shop's note about one free hour at the beach car park. Only one says they actually parked there and got the stamp at the shop. One post adds the lot costs 1,000 won per 30 minutes and the shop covers one car per table. Another warns the beach road can add 20 minutes in traffic.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 25 posts |
|---|
No post says what floor it is on or mentions stairs. The '1st floor' in the address was copied, not observed. That does not mean otherwise — nobody wrote it down.
No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller got in; even the family with a toddler did not mention one. Four posts say the back area is a raised platform you step onto after removing shoes, which may not suit a wheelchair.
Only one post mentions the toilet: inside, tucked to the left past the kitchen. Nobody said whether it is separated by gender or how big it is.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Only one post covers public transport, saying Gwangan subway station is a long walk and the bus is easier — though it does not say they took one. Another post walked over from Daeyeon-dong.
- Fifteen posts list opening hours and fourteen agree on 3pm to 11pm, last order 10pm, closed Sundays — all copied from listings rather than observed. One April 2026 post gives 5pm to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and a September 2026 roundup also says 5pm. We do not know whether opening time has changed. A few posts also garble the days (weekdays only, Tuesday to Saturday, or 'every day').
- The phone number 0507-1427-4577 appears in more than ten posts; one has it as ...4277 and an AI-written summary gave 051-757-4577. Most posts describe queueing via CatchTable rather than booking; those that say 'reservation' seem to mean the remote waitlist, so we did not count bookings.
- Prices read the same in every post from August 2025 to August 2026: 38,000 won medium, 48,000 won large. Four posts called it good value; one regular said prices go up every year, without giving figures.
- Seven posts from August to September 2025 share the same layout and 'local favourite' phrasing, two with the same map link. None disclose sponsorship, but they may be commissioned. A July 2025 post lists another shop's address, phone and hours, so we did not count it as a visit.
