Odaeyang Hoetjip

오대양횟집 Odaeyang means 'the five oceans', and hoetjip is a raw-fish restaurant.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

Odaeyang Hoetjip is a raw-fish restaurant on the third floor of the Marine Rich building, right across from Millak Waterside Park in Gwangalli, Busan. In the evening people order the Odaeyang Hansang A course at 40,000 won a head (B at 50,000 and C at 60,000 add one refill of fish), which brings a seafood platter, mulhoe, kimchi pancake, three kinds of sliced fish, tempura, roe rice and spicy stew in turn. At lunch, mulhoe at 20,000 won or hoedeopbap at 15,000 won come with side dishes and stew. We read 30 posts dated June 29 to September 19, 2026; 29 describe an actual meal. Ten ate the A course, 14 ordered mulhoe and 6 ordered hoedeopbap.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The most common remark is about quantity: 28 of the 29 meal posts said the food was plentiful. One said a course for two could have fed three, another that there was no room left on the table, and several described fish piled high in the mulhoe and hoedeopbap. One post found the extra 2,000-won bowl of rice sadly small.
  2. Twelve posts described floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto Gwangan Bridge and the sea. Writers said the view opens up as soon as you step in from the third-floor lift; one called the window tables the most sought-after, and another noted that the Saturday-night Gwangalli drone show is visible from them.
  3. Twenty-five posts said the room is large and 20 called it clean. One saw tables being laid out for a group booking on a weekday evening, another wrote that it seats up to 100, and 4 mentioned private rooms. Five posts said the place had recently been remodeled, though none described what it looked like before.
  4. Five posts pointed out a sink outside the restrooms for washing hands before eating. Two said the restrooms are inside the restaurant, and two that they are separated by gender.

  1. Eleven posts called it good value, and one said you should bring a fair amount of cash. Many pointed out that a single mulhoe or hoedeopbap comes with stew, so lunch runs 15,000 to 20,000 won; one couple paid 82,000 won for the A course for two plus an extra bowl of rice.

The most ordered dish is Maeuntang (매운탕) — 28 of 29 posts.

Parking

10 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park10 of 29 posts

There is no lot of its own; diners use the public lot across the street at the waterside park or the newer Millak-dong public lot nearby. Ten posts said they drove and parked. One arrived at 6:30 pm to find the front lot full with cars queuing; another found only two spaces left at 2:30 on a weekday. Parking support is inconsistent: several posts said ordering a course gets you help (2,000 won in cash, or one car per table), three said lunch orders get none, and one couple who ate the A course wrote that there was no support.

No one wrote about steps at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; that means we don't know, not that it can't be done. Eight posts said they took the lift up to the third floor. One post includes a line saying the entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it was copied from the listing, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The lunch-special set was listed at 20,000 won in one post from July 8, 2026 and at 30,000 won in two September posts. We cannot tell whether the price went up or one of them copied it wrong.
  • No post said it arrived by subway or bus. One gave directions from Gwangan or Millak station on Line 2 by bus or taxi without saying the writer went that way. Ten posts came by car.
  • Waiting barely comes up. One post ate without a wait around 3 pm on a weekday; no one said whether there is a line in the evening or at weekends. Two posts booked ahead, one ten days in advance and one through Naver.
  • Twenty-four posts gave opening hours and all agree it opens at 11:30. Twenty-three say it closes at 22:00 and one says 22:30. Closing days disagree: most say open daily and two say no regular day off, but two say closed Mondays, one says closed every Tuesday and one lists Tuesday to Sunday. Most of these lines are copied from the listing, so check before going.
  • Sixteen posts gave the same phone number, 0507-1370-5781. Posts mention booking through Naver and CatchTable, and some advise booking if you want a window table.
  • These posts repeat each other. More than twenty mention that the owner runs his own live-fish truck, and most go through the bridge view, group seating and suitability for company dinners in much the same order. Two disclose sponsorship and the rest say nothing either way. Seven mention a receipt-review promotion that rewards writers with free soju or a soft drink. We treated the fish-truck line as the restaurant's own claim and did not count it as evidence.
