Bar

Nirvana

니르바나 Nireubana Nirvana is the Buddhist word for the state in which all craving and anguish fall away; the owner told bloggers she chose it because she wanted a place of rest, hence the Buddhist objects, incense and shelves of books.

Nirvana is a whisky and cocktail bar in the Seohui Star Hills Centum Primo arcade at 311 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, Millak-dong, at the quiet end of Gwangalli. A woman runs it on her own and has filled it with Buddhist objects, incense and bookshelves, pitching it as a place of rest; one post says it opened in early June 2025. Several posts say that if you can't choose, she asks what you like and recommends something. Only two posts give prices: a September 2025 post puts cocktails at 12,000 to 18,000 won, and a February 2026 post lists a gin and tonic at 12,000, Hibiki Harmony at 23,000 and a cheese platter at 20,000. We read 21 posts dated April 2025 to February 2026; 20 of them record an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. It is quiet. Twelve of the 20 visit posts say so, mentioning music kept low and no rowdiness, and several writers say they came here precisely to escape the noise of the Gwangalli strip. No one called it loud.
  2. You can read here. Twelve posts mention the books, monks' writings and humanities titles shelved between the bottles, and several writers simply pulled one down. One notes separate reading lights over the bar; a June 2025 visitor came alone with a book she had just bought.
  3. A complimentary snack comes with your drink and it changes. Six posts describe one and no two match: a ripe persimmon, sugar-caramelised tomato, egg confit on bread, crackers with cream cheese, biscuits. Posts also mention a scented hand towel on arrival, warm in two accounts and chilled in one.
  4. Posts lean toward good value: six of the seven that discuss price call it reasonable, one adding 'for Gwangalli prices'. Two note that a whisky pour is 45 ml. No one called it expensive, though only one post, from February 2026, gives actual whisky prices.
2 more
  1. The owner comes up constantly. Eight posts call her kind, and several describe her quizzing them on sweetness, acidity and fizz before suggesting a drink. One liked that she is low-key rather than chatty; a regular says she brought out his kept bottle unprompted. Two posts mention a guestbook she asks customers to sign.
  2. Three posts are from regulars: a self-paid writer who went repeatedly from May to September 2025, one who drank the Dalmore 12 he keeps behind the bar, and one who notes the whisky shelf grows every visit.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 20 posts

One post describes parking in the arcade's basement garage. Another says parking validation is 'reportedly' available, and two more only copy 'parking available' from the listing. How long you can stay and whether it costs anything is unknown.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 20 posts read)

No one says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in; that means unknown, not absent. On floor level, one post says you park in the building's basement garage and come up to the ground floor, where the bar sits next to a Compose Coffee.

The toilet is mentioned once, only as a corridor with a lotus LED sign leading to it. Whether it is inside the bar or shared, and whether it is split by gender, is unknown.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of the seating disagree. Posts from June 2025 and February 2026 describe bar seats only around a U-shaped counter; one November 2025 post mentions a few tables plus bar seats. It is two to one, the dates don't line up into a change, and we can't tell which is right.
  • Draft beer was new as of a September 2025 post and someone started with one in October; earlier posts don't mention it. Two posts also say the whisky range was small at opening and has grown since.
  • The two posts describing year-end decorations (fairy lights, candles, winter props) are both from November 2025; we don't know whether the decor changes with the season.
  • Only one post mentions corkage: bringing your own bottle is allowed but there is a charge, amount not given.
  • Most of these posts follow one template: 11 end with the same nine hashtags in the same order, and none of those 11 gives a price. One post discloses a writing fee, one says it was self-paid, and the rest say nothing. The cluster from October and November 2025 looks commissioned, so weigh the counts above accordingly.
  • No one describes getting there by subway or bus. One post puts it five minutes' walk from the Millak raw-fish town and shellfish market; two say it sits in a lane at the far end of Millak-dong that you have to seek out.
  • No one mentions waiting. Bookings appear only in one post's copied listing info, not from anyone's experience.
  • Seven posts give the same hours: Monday to Saturday, 7 pm to 2 am, last order 1:30, closed Sundays. All of them copy the listing; none reports testing those hours.
  • Prices appear in only two posts, so we can't say what a typical whisky costs; the February 2026 post (Hibiki Harmony 23,000 won, Balvenie 15 sherry cask 63,000) is all we have on whisky prices.
  • Six posts give the phone number 0507-1357-4530, all copied from the listing; nobody reports calling to book.
