Madam Eppokkeu

마담에뽀끄 The name borrows French: madame plus époque, 'era' — the posts give no story behind it.

Compiled from 16 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Western-style restaurant on the second floor of a building on Gwangalli's beachfront road (Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 239), where you eat pasta, pizza and steak looking through full-height windows at Gwangan Bridge. Two posts from August 2026 say the restaurant would trade here only until the end of August and reopen in September at Fusionable, about 640 m away; no post yet describes the new place, so everything below is about the old address. Copied menus put pasta at 15,000–28,000 won, pizza at 16,000–19,000 and the pomegranate pork steak at 26,000; most visitors went as a pair and shared two or three plates. Five posts say you order on a tablet at the table. We read 30 posts dated June 2025 to September 2026: 17 actual visits, 12 introductions, listicles or promotional pieces, and 1 about a different shop in the same building, which we set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. People come for the window seats. Ten posts describe the big windows or sitting by them. One counted four window tables and arrived at opening time to get one; another chose 3 pm on a Saturday, after the lunch rush, for the same reason. Even on a rainy Sunday evening with no wait, one visitor found the window tables all taken.
  2. The wait depends on when you go. Four posts walked straight in: a rainy Sunday evening, a weekend, first customer at 11:30 on a Monday, and a December evening. One post saw a queue build during lunch, with a CatchTable waiting kiosk inside and people waiting seated. Several posts say they had heard the waits are long; we did not count hearsay.
  3. Five posts ordered and paid on the tablet at their table. Four mention the receipt-review promotion that gets you free fries or cheese balls; on one visit the cheese balls had run out.
  4. Both posts that discussed portions found them large: one meant to order three dishes and was full on two, the other ordered three and regretted it.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 16 posts
Lift to the floor5 of 16 posts

Five posts say the restaurant is on the second floor and has a lift; two of them took the stairs anyway, and one noted separate stair and lift entrances, suggesting the lift for strollers.

No post mentions a step at the entrance or arriving in a wheelchair. We only know there is a lift; that is not the same as step-free access.

No post says whether the toilets are inside the restaurant or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 12 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-04-212 posts in one day
2025-06-232 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two August 2026 posts say the restaurant was moving in September to a spot about 640 m away. Seating, lift, windows and hours on this page all describe the old Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 239 address; we have no post about the new one yet.
  • No visitor describes arriving by subway or bus. The '11 minutes from Gwangan Station exit 3' and '771 m' figures are copied listings, so we did not rely on them.
  • Heat depends on the dish. Two posts found it spicy (the rosé pasta very, the risotto mildly), three found nothing spicy (the cream pasta, and the shrimp pizza twice), and one ordered the hot gambas and called it manageable.
  • All opening hours are copied from listings. Nine posts say 11:30–22:00 and seven give last orders at 21:00. The 16:00–17:00 break is weekdays only in four posts and daily in three. Three templated promotional posts say 10:00 opening, which we discount. No post names a closing day, and hours at the new site are unknown.
  • No one states what the whole meal cost. Adding up two pairs' orders gives 46,500 won (pork steak, rosé pasta, cola) and 64,500 won (aglio olio, pizza, pork steak, cola). Some prices disagree: aglio olio is 18,000 on two copied menus but 17,000 in two August 2026 orders, and the gorgonzola pizza is 16,000 in three posts but 18,000 in one December 2025 visit.
  • Seven posts give the phone number 0507-1402-5040 and one gives 051-761-5040; nobody describes booking by phone. One post says Naver reservations start at six people, and four mention CatchTable for waiting.
  • Several of the 12 posts we did not count as visits are promotional pieces from shared templates: three from March 2026 repeat the same keyword and the same four dishes in the same order, and two from 23 June 2025 share one script. 'Natural cooking' and 'ingredients from the farm and the sea' are the restaurant's own slogans, repeated by these posts, so we did not use them as evidence.
