Kamawaru is a Japanese tonkatsu counter on Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 295beon-gil 49, ground floor, up the Millak-dong alleys from Gwangalli Beach. You order at a kiosk by the door and sit at one four-top or along the counter facing an open kitchen where the owner fries alone. Tenderloin is 15,000 won, loin 14,000, premium loin and the mixed plate 16,000, shoulder cut 18,500, served with rice, miso soup, kimchi and cabbage. We read 30 posts dated 2 March to 24 September 2026: 3 were about other places, 5 were introductions, lists or takeout, and 22 describe eating there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Seating is one four-person table and a long counter. Twelve of the thirteen posts that describe seating say exactly that, several counting 15 counter seats; one September post mentions only the counter, about 12 seats.
- Ten posts mention the open kitchen: from the counter you watch the raw pork breaded, fried and sliced. Four say each order is fried only when it comes in, and one notes the owner runs the place alone, so cooking takes 15 minutes or more.
- Food is slow. Four posts say so, citing 15 to 20 minutes; one more gives the 15-minute figure without calling it slow.
- Waiting is split. Five posts walked straight in (first customer at 5 pm, Saturday lunch, a weekday at 1:30, first in at opening, no queue); three waited, all at lunch: people were already there ten minutes before a Sunday opening in May, a July Sunday visitor at 11:20 was second in line, and an August group got nearly the last seats around 12:15. That August post says you join the waitlist on the kiosk and the owner phones you when a seat frees up.
4 more
- Thirteen posts call the coating thin and crisp and seven mention juiciness. On greasiness, one post found the loin heavy while three said it was not.
- Six posts got a fried shrimp for leaving a receipt review; one says it is one per person, another one per dish, and two received two pieces.
- Seven posts say rice, soup and kimchi are refilled on request. That the rice is Andong Baekjinju is the house's own claim, but several posts single out the glossy rice.
- Two posts note that the table water is cold green tea, one praising it on a hot day.

There is no parking at the shop, as five posts say. The two who drove used the Daedong lot next door (3,000 won an hour) and the Millak public lot an 11-minute walk away (1,800 won an hour).

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

We don't know about floors or steps: the address says ground floor, but no post describes going in.
No post says whether the entrance has a step or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in; we only know there is a single four-person table besides the counter.
Two posts disagree on the toilet: a March post puts a unisex one at the end of the counter, a September post says you go out the back to a toilet outside. Only the March post addresses gender, calling it unisex.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One post came by bus, from a Haeundae hotel. Two others recommend the bus because the subway is far but don't say they took it; the line about buses 41 and 83 stopping out front and a 20-minute walk from Gwangan or Suyeong station is copied text that recurs across posts.
- Thirteen posts give the same hours, 11:30 to 20:30, and twelve say closed Mondays (one April post says open daily). The afternoon break depends on when: the seven posts up to May list no break, only last order at 20:00, while all six posts from 22 July list a 15:00-17:00 break, four of them with a 14:30 lunch last order. A break seems to have been added in between, though we found no announcement.
- Prices held from March to September: loin at 14,000 won in both March and September, tenderloin at 15,000 in five posts. No post calls a meal expensive; one calls the prices reasonable.
- Reservations are unclear. The number 0507-1487-3077 appears in seven posts, but none reports booking by phone; one August post had a friend book and wasn't sure it went through.
- Some posts share near-identical wording: the YBD pork 'only 0.3% of supply', Andong rice and kimchi, the Hahoe name story, the directions past Sealand fish market. We treat these as the house's own messaging, not evidence. One March post says it ate the tenderloin and then ends 'next time I'll try the tenderloin'. No post discloses sponsorship. A June post summarizing Naver review counts, a multi-stop itinerary and a takeout-at-home post were not counted as visits.
