Busanhang Meoktae Keulleop

부산항 먹태클럽 Busanhang means Busan Port and meoktae is half-dried pollack — the bar borrows the port as its theme, though it sits at the Millak alley-market entrance by Gwangalli, and grills whole meoktae over coal briquettes.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

A street-side drinking spot at the entrance to Millak alley market in Suyeong-gu, a three-to-five-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. The owner grills whole meoktae (half-dried pollack, 16,000 won) over coal briquettes; you tear it by hand, dip it in two sauces and drink bottled beer, highballs or whisky. It opens at 7 p.m. and runs to 2 or 3 a.m., so most posts came here as a second stop after dinner. We read 30 posts from July 2025 to October 2026; 27 describe an actual visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The seating is outdoors. Nine posts said so, one stating there are no indoor seats at all, only street tables. Three mentioned plastic sheeting going up in rain or cold, and several warned that the place is at the mercy of the weather, warm in midsummer.
  2. Twelve posts described where they sat; nine said there are both bar seats and tables. One counted six bar seats, another noted four-tops and group tables on the opposite side. Those at the bar liked being right next to the grill.
  3. The meoktae is grilled over briquettes beside the bar. Eleven posts watched it being grilled from their seats, and four said it goes on the fire when you order. It arrives whole; several posts said the owner showed them to pull the head off and tear along the grain.
  4. Seventeen posts got a free snack with their drinks — sixteen say it was a mini bag of Saeukkang shrimp crackers, one (July 2026) says Ottang. The menu's 2,000-won charge for extra snacks is copied, not observed.
3 more
  1. Five posts called the staff kind and said why: a blanket for a cold friend, bottled water with an ice cup on request, chili refills for the sauce at the next table, and a free melon after extra whiskies.
  2. Ten posts went with friends and six with a partner or spouse. One family brought two small children, and one writer brought a dog in a pet stroller. Two posts noticed people drinking alone.
  3. Five posts were repeat visits — one claimed five-plus visits, another called it a place they keep going back to, and one had found the meoktae sold out the first time.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 5 (of 27 posts read)

Nobody mentioned floors. Posts place the seats at street level by the market entrance, but none says whether there is a basement or upper floor; the only source is the address's 'ground floor'.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or wheelchair access. One post brought a dog in a pet stroller and one had a baby asleep in a pram, but neither said anything about steps. That is an absence of reports, not evidence either way.

There is no toilet inside. Five posts said you use a shared toilet outside — out and to the left with a door code (August 2025), or in the building outside with a key you have to take (October 2026). One found the trips to wash meoktae-greasy hands a bit of a hassle. Nobody said whether it is separated by sex.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Heat is a split verdict. Two August 2026 posts disagree: one sat under plastic sheeting with the air-conditioning blasting, the other, at 10 p.m. and 27°C, found only fans in the guest area and felt warm.
  • Two posts pointed to buses — a five-minute walk from the Millak-dong Alley Market stop. One said Gwangan subway station is a fair walk away. Most simply said it is three to five minutes on foot from Gwangalli Beach.
  • Few posts talk about waiting. Two had none (a group of four walked straight in; another couple were the first customers at 7 p.m.), and one guessed weekends would mean a wait, run by a sign-up list and a phone call. No post gives a waiting time. The two-hour limit when there is a queue is copied from the menu.
  • Opening hours have changed. Posts from July to November 2025 give Tuesday–Sunday 7 p.m.–3 a.m., closed Mondays; from April 2026 posts give a 2 a.m. close Sunday to Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Two October 2026 posts list 'Sunday–Thursday' with no closing day, so we cannot tell whether the Monday closure has ended — posts up to August 2026 still had it. Most of this is copied listing data.
  • The menu has changed too. Posts from July–August 2025 list a spicy kimchi udon at 12,000 won; from November 2025 a tofu cup ramyeon and a Set 2 built around it take its place, and the udon is missing from 2026 menus.
  • The meoktae is 16,000 won in five posts from July 2025 to August 2026. The tofu cup ramyeon is 6,000 won in one (a copied menu) and 8,000 in another. No post gives a total bill. Two said prices felt reasonable. The 20,000-won minimum per table, drinks excluded, is copied from the menu.
  • Ten posts list the phone number 0507-1351-7940. 'Reservations' appears only as copied listing data; no one wrote of booking ahead. Several posts relay that the meoktae can be taken away.
  • Six posts from September–October 2025 end with the same hashtag set (#부먹클, #광안리위스키 and so on), two of them identical in all eight tags and their order. None discloses sponsorship, and each describes different orders and companions, so we counted them all.
