BakeryCafe

Avenir

아브니르 Abeunireu Avenir is French for 'future' (one post notes a friend's acquaintance explained it so); Jardin de Rose, 'rose garden', is the perfume brand with a corner inside the building.

A bakery cafe occupying a whole building on the hillside road above Jwacheon-dong in Dong-gu, Busan. You pick bread and order on the ground floor, then carry your tray up to the second or third floor or the rooftop. An americano is the cheapest drink at 5,500 won, and one post said most drinks sit around 8,000. Floor-to-ceiling windows look over Busan Harbor Bridge and the packed hillside houses, and many posts describe the 'lights-out' at 7, 8 and 9 pm, when the room goes dark for ten minutes (7 pm is skipped April–September). It first appeared in new-opening lists in April 2025. We read 22 posts from April 2025 to October 2026; 17 describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Getting there on foot is hard work. Four posts recommend driving over public transport: one walked up from the station drenched in sweat and says to take a taxi, another notes the nearby buses run infrequently. The '663 m from Jwacheon Station Exit 1' directions are copied listing information.
  2. Five posts note the rule of one drink per person, bread not counting; a family gathering ordered more than ten drinks to comply. Several also copied the notice that all drinks ordered after 8 pm come in take-away cups, and one says outside food is not allowed.
  3. Of eight posts that discussed price, five call it expensive — one called it 'wicked', another said the coffee doesn't always justify the price. For a real bill: three people paid 24,800 won for two iced americanos, a yuja-lemon and a mocha bun. Two posts paid with Dongbaekjeon, Busan's local currency.
  4. Eleven posts call it spacious, mostly meaning the gaps between tables — you barely notice the next table even when it's busy. Nine mention the near-continuous window walls. The window seats go first, though, as some posts found.
3 more
  1. Three posts say only the rooftop is off-limits to children; the indoor floors are open to kids, but one post warns there are no high chairs and no nursing room.
  2. Drinks read sweet, bread not: three posts found the drinks sweet (two on the Lombardi, one on the green-tea latte), while two said the bread is not very sweet.
  3. Both posts that praise friendliness are talking about the parking attendants. One post, on a very busy day, found the counter staff curt and inattentive.

The most ordered dish is amerikano (아메리카노) — 8 of 17 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Posts saying you can park14 of 17 posts

This is a drive-to place. Fourteen posts say you can park, and seven describe the valet: an attendant takes your key and puts the car in a mechanical parking tower. Of six posts that sized the lot, three counted only a handful of surface spots out front (about six, five, a few), one said it isn't large, and two called it roomy. Posts warn that the tower is slow to return cars and that the narrow hill road, also a bus route, jams on busy weekends.

No post describes going down to a basement. That bread is baked in the basement comes only from a copied floor sign and hearsay. Customer seating is on the second and third floors and the roof.

Ten posts mention the lift. Since you carry your own tray between floors, several noticed a small shelf at the lift door and another inside to rest it on. Empty dishes go back to the counter on the ground floor. The second floor can also be reached by stairs.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance. One post said it's easy with a stroller; nobody wrote about a wheelchair or the doorway — not that there is a problem, just that no one said.

Two posts say the men's toilet is on the second floor and the women's on the third. One counted three stalls in the women's; another found it clean but the stalls narrow.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2025-04-282 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Three posts from weekday visits in October 2026 found the second floor closed — for inspection, not in use, or apparently under works. We don't know whether that is temporary.
  • Posts disagree on which floor the rooftop is. The lift sign says the rooftop is the fifth floor and one post says the fourth isn't for customers, yet others call the rooftop the fourth floor and one sat on the fourth. The rooftop has a pool-like water feature or fountain.
  • No post mentions waiting in line. Some found the window seats taken or the place busy at weekends, but nobody described a queue, and nobody mentioned reservations.
  • Ten posts list opening hours as 10 am–10 pm daily, nearly all copied from the listing. One says 10 am–8 pm, and one from December 2025 says 10 am–9:50 pm with last orders at 9:20. No post mentions a closing day. Six posts give the phone number 0507-1382-5500; one gives 051-464-5500.
  • Some posts were set aside: one is padded with outside statistics and architecture jargon and cites a video as its source, another is a bare introduction carrying affiliate links. That the K-pop group Stray Kids visited is hearsay, apart from posts that saw the display of their orders by the counter.
