Tarakosoba

타라코소바 Tarako is Japanese for salted pollock roe and soba means noodles — every bowl here is built around pollock roe on the house's own black-rice noodles.

A pollock-roe noodle shop in a side street near Jung-dong Station in Haeundae. The mainstays are a cream soba with roe on house-made black-rice noodles (11,500 won) and a tsukemen dipped in roe soup (12,500 won); since summer 2026 there is also a seasonal perilla-oil soba (11,500 won). You order at a kiosk by the door and sit at a counter of about eight seats or the one four-person table at the back. We read 30 posts dated 7 September to 25 October 2026; three were about other restaurants, and 25 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to wait at lunch and on weekends: 12 posts mention a queue. The waits people timed were 10, 10, 15, 20 and 50 minutes — the 50 was a weekend lunch, sixth or seventh in line. One couple got the last seats at 11:30 on a weekday; another arrived at opening and found a line outside when they left. Two posts dodged the queue by arriving at 4 p.m., when the afternoon break ends.
  2. You pay first and then wait: 6 posts ordered at the kiosk by the entrance, and because the order goes in while you queue, food arrives soon after you sit. Two posts note there is no remote waitlist app, so you wait on the spot; one says the receipt carries no number and the host simply remembers the order of the line.
  3. There is somewhere to sit while you wait: 6 posts mention it — five waiting seats out front, chairs by the door, and a waiting area in the arcade corridor next door.
  4. Most seats are at a counter wrapped around the kitchen. Eight posts note there is also a table — always the single four-seater at the back. Eleven posts call the room small, and one found seats so close there was nowhere to put a bag. It is often called easy to visit alone, and one post was a solo meal.

  1. Ten posts mention the open kitchen in front of the counter; one noticed the stone bowls for the tsukemen soup being heated on the burners in advance.

Where it is

Map showing where Tarakosoba is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

2 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor from experience; only the address says ground floor.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — we simply do not know. Most seating is at a counter.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Saltiness splits the posts: one found the tsukemen sauce saltier than expected, three said it was not salty. One post notes you can ask for broth to thin it.
  • The queue is fairly new: a post about a winter visit says there was no wait then, a September 2026 post says it became nationally known this year and now always has a line, and a regular notes the staff has grown from the original two.
  • That it is a short walk from Jung-dong Station exit 7 is mostly copied listing text; only two posts say so from their own trip. No one mentions coming by bus.
  • Seventeen posts give the same hours: 11:00–18:30, break 15:10–16:00, last order 18:10, closed Sundays — mostly copied from the listing. One post alone says 11:30–20:30 with no day off, which matches nobody else. One visitor complains it closes early in the evening.
  • Prices are from September–October 2026 posts. Only one gives a bill — 28,700 won for spicy tsukemen, a cola and two small rice bowls, without saying how many bowls of noodles. Two posts call the prices reasonable; none call them high.
  • No post gives a phone number (one says none is listed). One post says there are no reservations — you pay and wait on site.
  • The menu turns with the seasons: winter posts mention an oyster cream soba and a shrimp-wonton soba (11,000 won), while summer–autumn 2026 posts feature the seasonal perilla-oil soba, with one warning it may end any time.
