Morigui

모리구이 음식점 Charcoal skewer grill on the Cheongsapo seafront, with sea-view window seats

Data as of · Published ·

Morigui is a skewer-and-barbecue grill house on the seafront at Cheongsapo in Haeundae, within walking distance of the Cheongsapo stop on the beach train. The registered name is just the two syllables 'Mori'; the sign and the customers say 'Morigui'. The city register files it as a raw-fish restaurant, and not one post mentions raw fish — what comes out is skewers of pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, octopus, scallop and clam, part-grilled, which you finish over a small charcoal brazier at your table. Prices are per platter, S through XL, with a per-person lunch set at ₩19,000. There are two floors, and the window seats look out to sea. Cheongsapo is lined with clam-grill houses, and six of the ten writers say they came in looking for something other than grilled clams. The posts we read run from August 2025 to July 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. Where you sit matters here — five writers say they got a window table. One calls the second-floor window seats the best in the house; another was glad of a good one; a third got lucky and watched the sunset from it. Two did not: one settled beside the fish tank and was happy enough. The writer who recommends the place hedges it explicitly — 'strongly recommended, if you can get a window seat'. The same writer notes the one drawback of sitting there: 'there were a few insects.'
  2. Five writers record the free side dishes, and all five single out the lettuce salad. 'Sharp and sour — it resets your mouth between skewers.' 'It cuts the fat, which made it better.' 'A whole basket of it.' 'I don't like the spring-onion version, but this is lettuce and I loved it.' Alongside it they list bean-sprout soup (four), braised konjac (two), pickled radish and chilli, pickles, acorn jelly, chilled bean-sprout soup, and three dips — soy, chilli paste and ssamjang. The line-up differs a little from post to post, and we cannot tell which is the current one.
  3. Three writers note the skewers arrive part-grilled — which makes the table work easier, one says, while another puts it as 'it takes a moment longer to arrive, but our own grilling time goes down'. Even so, two found the brazier slow, and three were told by staff to slide the food off the skewers to cook it through; one adds that the vegetables burn easily, so she grilled them on foil. Two mention the brazier is small enough that you cannot fit everything on at once.
  4. Two writers could not finish even the smallest platter. 'The S, and I was completely full.' 'The set is closer to three portions than two — it was an enormous amount for two of us, and this is what we left, not counting what we had already grilled and couldn't eat.' Two others deliberately sized down: one had ordered the L for four the time before and found it generous, so took the M; the other saw that most reviewers order the S and went for the XS instead.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 8 posts

The weight of it says there is no car park, but the posts disagree. One writer lists 'no parking' among the things to know; another says she did not drive this time, but on an earlier visit parked on the roadside nearby without trouble; a third writes 'parking: the public kerbside lot out front, or wherever'. Two others say there is parking in front — but both put that in an information box and both arrived by subway and beach train, so we have not counted it. One recommends the Cheongsapo public car park. Nobody who says there is a dedicated lot also says they parked in it.

Getting there

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 8 posts
Toilet inside1 of 8 posts

Not one writer says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. In ten posts there is nothing about a step at the door, a ramp, or the width of the doorway. The place has two floors and the best seats are said to be upstairs — and nobody records whether you get up there by stairs or by lift. This is not a claim about access. It is a gap in what we know.

Only one writer mentions the toilet at all — an April 2026 post lists 'indoor toilet' among the things she saw for herself. She does not say whether it is separated by sex. One other post does say the toilets are separated, but that writer marked the whole line 'check Naver', meaning it is not something he saw, so we have not counted it. How many stalls, how clean, whether there is one on each floor — nobody wrote any of it down.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 9 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Getting here by public transport is easy; getting away is not — and only one writer says so. Three walked from the Cheongsapo beach-train stop and all three found the way in simple. But one wrote up the way out: 'We finished about twenty to nine and tried for a taxi to go on somewhere — nothing at all. In the end we took the Haeundae-gu 2 village bus from the Cheongsapo stop to Jangsan station. Worth knowing that bus runs every twenty to twenty-five minutes.' That is the only post about leaving at night — the place is open to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and nobody records getting home at that hour.
  • Two writers say the opposite of each other about the size of the room. February 2026: 'plenty of space — it looked good for a family gathering or a group.' December 2025: 'the room is not large. Snug, exactly.' Both had been; both were writing what they saw. The place has two floors, and one post records a night when only the upstairs was open — so the same room can read differently depending on the day. We are not picking a winner.
  • One writer in four queued — and that one came on a public holiday. Three record no wait at all: 'early evening, plenty of tables' (October 2025); 'a weekend evening, and to my surprise we sat straight down' (October 2025); 'arrived at five, walked right in' (August 2025). The one who waited: 'half past six on a holiday, every table full, about thirty minutes.' There is no booking and no remote queue — the same writer explains that with no Catch Table or Tabling app you write your name on a sheet in the shop, walk a loop of Cheongsapo and wait on the ground floor. Even one of the writers who sat straight down adds that the place used to be full on weekend evenings.
  • These are not per-person prices. The one main course is the mixed skewer platter, sold by the platter from ₩53,000 (S) to ₩89,000 (XL), built for two to four people — and two writers ordered the S for two and could not finish it. So the price range on this page is not what one person pays. The only per-person figure anyone records is the lunch set: ₩19,000 a head, minimum two. No post gives the dinner set price, and none gives a drinks price either — three writers order soju or beer without saying what it cost.
  • No post declares sponsorship, and three state that they paid (August, October and December 2025). The other seven say nothing either way, which means they did not say. One thing worth flagging: the blog behind the June 2026 post belongs to a curtain and blind shop — its closing hashtags are for window furnishings in Busan. The post itself records what they ordered and what arrived, in their own photographs, so we counted it as a visit.
  • Why we count ten and not twenty-six. The register has this place down as just 'Mori', two syllables, and a great deal else came in with it. Fifteen posts are out altogether: five are about Mori, the Michelin one-star kaiseki restaurant elsewhere in Haeundae (₩250,000 dinner), and ten are about things that merely contain the syllables — mori-soba, the noodle dish, at two buckwheat restaurants; Mori Coffee in Pohang and in Ho Chi Minh City; a Mori-Mori rice-bowl shop; three names in a list of 429 newly licensed restaurants nationwide; two people (Moritz Flick; the NBA executive Daryl Morey); and two bloggers' pen names. Of the eleven left, one is a guide to 'eight restaurants near Blue Line Park' — its paragraph about this shop is accurate, but it records no meal and no price, so it is out of the denominator. Of the ten that remain, two are diaries covering many restaurants; for those we read only the passage about this shop, and counted only that.
