Seokhwayeon
석화연 No post explains the name; 석화 can mean 'oyster' or 'stone flower' in Korean, but this is an aged-pork grill house that serves no oysters.

Seokhwayeon is an aged-pork charcoal grill on the second floor of 199 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, right on Gwangalli Beach. Staff grill everything at the table, and window seats face the Gwangan Bridge. Posts put a 500 g belly, neck or half-and-half set at 57,000 won, bone-in loin or neck at 35,000 won for 330 g, and single 130 g portions at 14,900; several say a stew or haejang sulbap comes free between noon and 5 pm. We read 30 posts dated 2 March to 7 October 2026; 24 are first-hand meals, the other 6 are multi-restaurant lists.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- 22 of the 24 first-hand posts say staff grilled the meat; the two that don't are one-line diary entries. Many describe the server then assembling a first bite — fish sauce, aged kimchi, pollock roe, bracken, wasabi — in almost the same order.
- Ten posts ate at a window seat with the sea in view, but there are few of them: one counts '4–5 window seats', one found them full right after the afternoon break, one waited longer to get one, and one missed out. One diner watched the Saturday 8 pm drone show from the window.
- Five posts waited, three walked straight in, two are unclear. The two that timed it both say about 20 minutes — one at 8 pm with one party ahead on CatchTable, one on a weekend via Tabling. The walk-ins came at the noon opening, 'a bit early', or 6 pm on a weekday. One post noticed a small separate waiting area.
- Eighteen posts used the self-serve bar for extra greens and side dishes; one notes the pollock roe is not on it, another that extra acorn jelly costs more.
3 more
- Twelve posts mention the after-meal slush (papaya or apple-mango); three say outright it is free, and two found it too sweet to finish.
- Two posts state that the first order must be a set or at least four single portions; couples mostly ordered the 500 g or 660 g sets.
- Three posts brought children. Three note high chairs (one counts about three), one got child cutlery and seaweed for the rice, and one says the griller watched for spatter near the child.

Many posts copy the line about one free hour at the Beach Bikini or Gwangan Tower lots behind the building (there is no own lot). Only two speak from experience: one complains the extra fee adds up after the first hour; another left the car at their lodging.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 9 of 24 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 24 posts |
Nine posts note it is upstairs on the second floor; three mention climbing stairs, one calling the stairway rather dark. One says Yeokjeon Halmaek is directly below.
No post mentions a lift, an entrance step, or getting in with a wheelchair or pram; three only say they took the stairs. That is silence, not evidence there is no lift.
Nobody says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant; one post notes separate men's and women's rooms, two mention mouthwash there.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No one describes arriving by subway or bus; the '10 minutes from Geumnyeonsan Station exit 1' line in two posts is copied from the shop's directions. One diner walked from their lodging.
- Prices mostly agree, with three splits: kimchi and crab soybean stew are 6,000 won in one September 2026 post and 7,000 in two others; bone-in loin is 35,000 in three posts and 33,000 in one list; one post's 73,000-won 'lunch B set' doesn't match the 57,000-won B set elsewhere, and it doesn't say what was added. One post calls the price reasonable; none calls it expensive.
- Two posts say there is an outdoor terrace, but both only hope to use it next time; no one ate there, and both come from the same template.
- Opening hours: all 15 first-hand posts that list them give noon to midnight daily with a 3–4 pm break, and nine give a last order at 11 pm. All are copied info blocks; no post mentions a closing day or holiday hours.
- Eight posts give the phone number 0507-1335-3397. One diner booked ahead (for noon); the rest joined a remote queue on Tabling or CatchTable. The private room is described once as 4–16 people and once as about 12 seats.
- Four posts from 16–28 September 2026 repeat the same six promotional phrases in the same order; only one of them discloses a free meal voucher. Claims like '336 hours of ageing' are the shop's own copy, and we did not count them.
