ITASHO

이타쇼 Itasho

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Itasho is a Japanese dining bar on the fifth floor of 197 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, right across from Gwangalli Beach. A long counter faces Gwangan Bridge head-on, with private rooms behind. The core is a seasonal aged-sashimi platter (60,000 won for two, 90,000 for three), alongside ramen, karaage and mackerel bar sushi, with sake by the glass or bottle; three posts note there is no soju. We read 30 posts dated 9 January to 6 October 2026; 26 record an actual visit (two disclosed sponsorship, eight said they paid). Two were about other places and two were list or comparison posts we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a book-ahead place: 17 of the 26 visit posts reserved through Naver or CatchTable. Two posts arrived about ten minutes early, found it full and were seated only at their booked time. Two posts paid 30,000 won per person up front when booking, while two others copied CatchTable's 'no deposit' listing, so the deposit may depend on the channel.
  2. One drink per person is the rule — nine posts say so, and soft drinks do not count. Two posts had non-drinkers order the 12,000-won mocktail, which one says is the only alcohol-free option. One party of three was told a bottle of Ilpum Jinro covers only two people.
  3. When people are waiting, tables are capped at two hours — three posts mention it. One party seated at 9 pm waited 25 minutes for sashimi and about 50 for charcoal-grilled crab, then at around 10:40 was asked to wrap up for the next booking. Another post found service quick.
  4. Chawanmushi arrives as soon as you sit — 17 posts describe it along with cucumber and barley miso, seaweed stems or yuzu pickled radish. The filling varied (fish, chicken, mushroom); one diner found only mushroom in hers while her partner's had fish.
4 more
  1. From the counter you watch the chef slice fish right in front of you — 14 posts say so, and the chef explains each piece. One post notes only the sashimi is prepared there; other dishes come from a back kitchen.
  2. Besides the counter there are private rooms — 15 posts mention them, split into regular and group rooms (one says up to eight), and one thinks rooms carry a minimum spend. Several posts still recommend the counter, since that is where the bridge view is; ten posts describe the floor-to-ceiling window onto Gwangan Bridge.
  3. It is on the expensive side: seven posts call it pricey, one says the food is not as dear as expected. One trio paid over 200,000 won; one couple paid 148,000 won for sashimi, a roll, kinmedai and a mocktail. Recorded prices include 60,000 won for sashimi for two, 20,000 won per glass of sake and 35,000 won for two pieces of tilefish karaage.
  4. Dates and friends split evenly: eight posts went with a partner or spouse, eight with friends. Many visits were for birthdays or anniversaries.

Parking

2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 26 posts

There is no parking of its own: two posts parked in nearby public lots (one recommends a lot at 500 won per 10 minutes). The one-hour validation at Gwangan Tower private parking is a notice several posts copied, not something we could confirm.

Getting inside

Lift to the floor7 of 26 posts
Toilet inside2 of 26 posts

Seven posts took the lift to the fifth floor. The registered address says fourth floor, but every post says fifth; the building is called City Nine or 'the one with Photogray downstairs'.

We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; posts mention only the lift. No one wrote about it either way. 'No kids' appears only in two copied listings.

Only two posts say the toilet is inside the bar. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one copied listing, which we did not count; one post called the toilet clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post says it arrived by subway or bus. One suggests Geumnyeonsan station as an alternative to Gwangan station, but without saying they went that way.
  • Only one post queued without a booking: about ten minutes at 10 pm on a rainy weekend. Another advises booking to avoid a wait; everyone else had reservations.
  • Opening hours: 18 posts give 5 pm to 1 am, last order midnight, all copied from listings. Closing days disagree: eight say open daily or no day off, while one August 2026 post says closed Wednesdays. It doesn't split by date, so check before a Wednesday visit.
  • Nine posts list the phone number as 010-5319-1975; one gives 0507-1396-1975. Most reservations were made through Naver or CatchTable.
  • Two posts disclose sponsorship, but several more share the same keyword-stuffed 'Gwangalli bar Itasho' style ending in a recommend list. They disclose nothing, so we counted them, but read the uniformly glowing ones with that in mind.
