Gwangan China

광안차이나 Gwangan is the Gwangalli neighbourhood the restaurant sits in, and China simply marks it as a Chinese restaurant.

Compiled from 13 blog posts read in fullSources →

Gwangan China is a Chinese restaurant on the second floor of Hotel Aqua Palace, facing Gwangalli Beach in Busan. Through floor-to-ceiling windows onto the Gwangan Bridge you can have anything from jajangmyeon (9,000 won) and jjamppong (15,000 won) to butter sweet-and-sour pork (37,000 won), seafood scorched-rice soup (39,000 won) or a set course, and there are private rooms. We read 30 posts dated 12 February to 5 October 2026. Fifteen were about the hotel or its sauna and were set aside; of the 15 about this restaurant, 14 describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts describe the sea and the Gwangan Bridge through the windows. But one family that went on a Saturday evening said the building's own wall blocks the sky, so only the bottom of the drone show was visible, and advised against going just for it. One post notes the window tables run in a single line; another mentions a two-person bar counter facing the water.
  2. Four posts used or saw the private rooms. A party of four in May 2026 booked through Naver and paid a 20,000-won room fee for what they called a compact room. A family with a baby thought the room was free with a course or a large order and guessed the fee was 30,000 won, without being sure. One roundup repeats that there are seven rooms.
  3. Five posts call the fried dishes crisp: sweet-and-sour pork, kkanpunggi, fish-fragrant eggplant and the review-event dumplings. Two of those five are the same writer describing the same hotel-package tangsuyuk from one May trip.
  4. Four posts came with family. Two say staff brought baby cutlery and a high chair, and one was a family gathering for a nephew's 100th-day celebration. Two posts came with friends and two drove.

  1. Two posts found the seasoning heavy: one said the jajangmyeon in the course was very salty, and an August visitor said the chilli dressing on the cold noodles drowned out the peanut sauce, adding that something always disappoints them a little here.

Parking

Posts saying you can park3 of 13 posts

Three posts parked in the hotel's car park. One local writer said they come here often precisely because parking elsewhere in Gwangalli is expensive. No restaurant post said how much free time diners get; the parking hours in the hotel posts apply to guests and sauna users, so we did not count them.

Getting inside

Second floor4 of 13 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 4 (of 13 posts read)

No one said whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in or whether there is a step at the entrance. The restaurant is on the second floor, and one writer liked being able to walk straight up the stairs rather than take the lift. The hotel posts mention lifts, but none says how they connect to the restaurant, so this is unknown rather than absent.

No post said where the restaurant's toilets are or whether they are separated by sex.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 14 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post judged portion size, and found it small: a party of four on the Hwa course in May 2026 kept wondering whether that was the end and left hungry, suggesting à la carte for a fuller meal. That is the only post, so we cannot say how other dishes compare.
  • Two posts say you get three fried dumplings for posting a review; one called them juicy, the other strangely tasteless. The first is written in a promotional summary-and-FAQ template and its info box gives the wrong street number, so we treated that box as copied and did not rely on it.
  • Two posts arrived by bus, but both are the same person's May trip (bus 41 from Busan Station or Jagalchi, then a four-minute walk). No restaurant post describes coming by subway.
  • No post mentions queuing. One arrived before the 11:30 opening and waited on a sofa; another walked in without a booking and was seated straight away. Two posts booked ahead. We don't know how busy weekend evenings get.
  • Three posts give the same opening hours, 11:30 to 22:00, but all three copied them from info boxes. Two give a 15:00–17:30 break and two a 21:00 last order; one writer went in the evening 'right at the 5 o'clock opening', so the reopening time is in doubt. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Most prices come from one July 2026 post's photo captions (jajangmyeon 9,000 won, jjamppong 15,000, tomato and egg 25,000, eggplant 30,000, butter tangsuyuk 37,000, scorched-rice soup 39,000). Two posts give a meal total: 86,000 won for two people sharing several dishes, and 18,000 won per person for the August cold-noodle set. Nobody gave a course price. One writer felt the portions fell short of the name and the price, without calling it expensive outright.
  • A phone number (051-755-7200) appears in only one post, in an info box with the wrong address, so we have not published it. One post booked through Naver Reservations, and another got a call the day before asking them to choose dishes in advance.
  • One August 2026 post found the dining room split between à la carte diners and a Chinese buffet that had 'recently started', apparently a summer-only lunch offer. Later posts don't mention it, so we don't know whether it continues.
