Gonakon
고낙온 Gonakon is short for 'gosaeng kkeute nakji onda' — a pun on the saying that joy (nak) comes after hardship, swapped to 'after hardship comes the octopus (nakji)'.

Gonakon is an octopus restaurant on the third floor of 197 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, facing Gwangalli Beach. You order red seafood octopus stir-fried kalguksu ('ppalnakkal'), octopus stir-fry or nakdaesae for at least two, and the two-person sets — a main plus a cheese-potato or seafood-chive pancake and a drink — were listed at 47,000–51,000 won. Seating splits into window bar seats facing Gwangan Bridge and tables further in. We read 30 posts from April 10 to October 3, 2026: 24 describe an actual meal, 5 only list it, and 1 was about another restaurant.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Fourteen posts describe sitting by the windows. Three found the summer sun a problem: one moved from the window to a four-seat table, one couldn't sit there because the tabletop was hot, and one said it was a bit warm but fine. One post ate with the windows thrown open to the sea breeze.
- Of seven posts that describe the seating, five note separate sea-facing bar seats and inner tables. One counted about five four-person tables and roughly eight window seats, and said on a Saturday only the window seats filled up.
- Two posts mention waiting. One, on a weekend evening in August 2026, waited about 30 minutes for a window table for two via CatchTable's remote queue, and walked the beach because there were only about four waiting chairs at the door. The other arrived early with no wait but saw a steady queue for window seats afterwards. A post visiting on a weekday around 2–3 pm found the room empty.
- Seven posts call the food spicy and four mention heat without settling. One said the ppalnakkal was as hot as Buldak noodles; two put the octopus stir-fry at about Shin Ramyun. Two posts copied a menu note that mild or spicy can be chosen, and two asked for it less spicy.
3 more
- Two posts note that every main is sold for a minimum of two. No one went alone, so we don't know how a solo diner is handled.
- Five posts found the pancakes crisp; one disagreed, calling the seafood-chive pancake largely soggy with undercooked patches. Another post found a string-like object in the pancake, and the owner took it off the bill.
- Three posts came with children, and all three ordered the non-spicy family bulgogi for them. Four posts saw high chairs.

One post speaks to parking from experience: there's no lot, so you use a nearby public car park. The 'no parking' line in other posts is copied listing text and wasn't counted.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 3 (of 23 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | 2 of 23 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 23 posts |
No post mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — not that there's a problem, just that nobody wrote about it. Two posts say they took the elevator to the third floor.
Only one post describes the restroom: near the entrance, with separate men's and women's rooms. Whether it is inside the restaurant or in the building corridor we can't tell. Other posts' 'separate restrooms' line is copied from the listing.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One post differed on cooling: arriving at opening, they found the room hot throughout, were told no spare fan was available, and said they won't return. Other posts didn't mention air conditioning.
- One post describes walking from the subway: about ten minutes from Geumnyeonsan Station. Similar lines in other posts (10 minutes from exit 1, 717 m) are copied listing text.
- Prices vary slightly between posts. Ppalnakkal per person appears as 14,000 won (Sept 2026 list post), 14,500 won (Sept 13) and 15,000 won (August receipt); the cheese-potato pancake as 17,000 and 19,000 won; set A as 47,000 won (Sept 7) and 50,000 won (Oct 1). They don't move in one direction over time, so we can't date a change. One post thought the 19,000-won mala-rosé ppalnakkal a bit pricey, then found the portion generous.
- Opening hours appear in 19 visit posts and all agree: daily 11:00–22:00, last order 21:20, a 15:30–16:30 break on weekdays only. All of it is copied listing text, and no post gives a closing day; one notes hours may change or the place may close on holidays.
- Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1399-4142; one May 2026 post lists 0507-1348-2355. Posts mention booking and remote queuing through CatchTable, but none describes booking by phone.
- The octopus soft-tofu cheese noodle soup is a newer item: a June 2026 post called it new, and a September post said its 49,000-won set was a limited seasonal offer. We don't know how long the set will run.
- Two of the visit posts sit inside other agendas — one on a Pilates studio's blog, one inside a post promoting the Busan International Food Expo. Neither discloses sponsorship, so we counted them as written.
