Dohwa
도화 A shoes-off izakaya of sliding-door rooms above the eating alley at Sasang Station, where almost everyone orders the ₩45,000 omakase.

Dohwa is a drinking house on the first floor above street level, in the eating alley across from Sasang Station in Busan. Five in the evening until three in the morning, last orders at two. You take your shoes off at the door and sit on the floor — sliding-door rooms run down a corridor, with open tables as well. It sells sashimi, grills, stir-fries, tempura, steamers and stews à la carte, but almost everyone whose visit we read ordered the ₩45,000-a-head omakase instead: six courses from the appetisers through an eel rice bowl to ice cream, everything but the steamer and the tempura plated one per person. Bottles and ceramics fill the walls, and nearly every post mentions how dim the lighting is. The posts we read run from November 2024 to October 2025.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Shoes come off at the door and you sit on the floor. Three posts say a member of staff takes them and hands them back on the way out. One writer, who did not know and padded around barefoot, advises bringing socks in summer. Eight explain that the floor seating is not quite floor seating: the tables sit over a well, so your legs go down — one of them spent nearly three hours there and says it never got uncomfortable. The window tatami seats and the sliding-door rooms are built the same way. One person, though, found the floor sticky underfoot.
- The rooms are the point of this place. All twenty-four visits we read talk about them: sliding-door rooms off a corridor, from two-seaters up to rooms for six, eight or ten. Five booked ahead and were shown to one; one arrived to find most of them already reserved. Two note that the rooms have their own air conditioning. There are open tables and window seats too — and because the building opposite is a car park rather than a building, one writer found the window side unexpectedly open.
- The course comes slowly, and people divide on whether that is a virtue. Two say it took about three hours and meant it kindly — one writes that nothing arrives fast enough to make you rush. One person says the opposite. She had booked for five, found no booking on the day and nothing prepped, and waited fifty-two minutes for the first bowl of porridge, with a plate of chips sent out by way of apology. Gaps of twenty-five and thirty minutes followed, and she left before the last two courses. She had come on a review invitation, and adds that anyone else would simply have walked out. Two others note that you can ask for the closing rice course whenever you want it, and it is cooked then.
- Prices are moving. Three items can be compared across two dates: someone paid ₩25,000 for the meat steamer in November 2024, and the April 2025 menu says ₩27,000; someone paid ₩20,000 and ₩25,000 for the tofu dish and the spicy stew in January 2025, and three months later the same two read ₩22,000 and ₩27,000. Only the omakase has held: fourteen posts give its price between January and October 2025, and all fourteen say ₩45,000.

What people order
The most ordered dish is modeum-hoe (모듬회 · 모듬사시미) — 22 of 24 posts.
The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place
Parking
5 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

There is no car park of its own. Five writers actually parked. Four used the private car park directly opposite — one gives its rate as ₩4,000 for the first hour, ₩7,000 for two. One drove to the public car park at Sasang Station, found it gone, used the paid one opposite instead and paid ₩10,000 for three hours. Another mentions a cheaper car park a little further off, by Sinsasang. Two point out that a place open until three in the morning is not one to drive to.

Getting there

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for the address instead.
Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Nobody checked whether a wheelchair can get in. Not one of the twenty-four posts mentions a threshold, a ramp or a wheelchair — this shop's listing does not even carry the boilerplate 'wheelchair accessible' line. All we know is that it is one floor up, that four posts mention a lift, that shoes come off at the door, and that every seat is on the floor. Stringing those four facts together suggests it would be hard, but that is our inference, not anybody's observation. A pushchair meets the same doorway, and no post mentions bringing a child. If it matters, it is worth a phone call.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2025-10-01 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Thirty posts came in; we count twenty-four. Four were about somewhere else — two were nationwide list articles in which 'Dohwa' turns out to be a place in Incheon, and two were a café and a coffee-and-scone shop in other parts of Sasang that happen to share the name. Two more went up on the same day in October 2025 on different blogs and are transcriptions of the shop's Naver listing: thirty-four menu prices and the visitor-tally lines match each other character for character, and neither says a word about eating anything. Both even tagged a different Dohwa, in Seoul. So the denominator here is twenty-four.
- Two posts declare a sponsorship or a review invitation, and two more mention comped dishes. One says outright that she won a place on a tasting panel; another tags her post 'provided + own spending'. Separately, one was given a new dish to try and one received extra prawn tempura and smoked salmon on the house. One post states it paid its own way, with a receipt verification attached to its Naver check-in. Twenty say nothing either way — and thirteen of those fall in the three months from June to August 2025, with fourteen ordering the identical ₩45,000 omakase. None of them declares anything, but thirteen visits to the same course inside three months are unlikely to be unconnected. The prices and the course order are corroborated by many separate people and can be trusted; the verdict that it is good value should be read with that discount.
- Not one person writes about queuing. What we have instead: one arrived at opening time to find seats already taken and most of the rooms booked, and one found the place full on a weekday evening. Neither says they waited. This is a rooms place that people book — five posts say they did. How long a wait is, or whether you can get in without booking, we have not been able to count.
- Only one person looked at the toilets. Seven posts say the restrooms are separate for men and women, but all seven copy it from the same Naver listing line that also carries the address, the phone number and 'groups welcome, reservations, takeaway'. One writer confirms from her own visit that the toilet is inside the premises — nobody records how many cubicles, how wide the door is, or whether there is a step on the way.
- Two phone numbers are in circulation. Fourteen posts give one, a single post gives another; the first may be the forwarding number Naver assigns, which can change. And the most recent visit we read is from 1 October 2025 — we have not yet found anyone writing about a visit since. What has happened to the prices, the hours or the course since then, we have not checked.
