Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

An eel house right on the Daebyeon harbor front in Gijang, Busan. Eels come out of the tank by the door, are cleaned to order, and diners grill them themselves over hardwood charcoal at the table. Nearly every post ordered a kilo of grilled eel for 46,000 won plus the 3,000-won eel soup, and several mention that the head, tail, bones and innards come along to grill. We read 30 posts dated April to October 2026; 27 were written after an actual visit, one was about a different restaurant, and two were introductions only.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The kitchen does not grill for you. Of 27 visit posts, 25 say staff brought charcoal to the table and they grilled the eel themselves. Several say staff came by to explain: skin side down first, flip when it starts to smoke. One found the flames hard to control.
  2. The window seats look out on Daebyeon harbor. 13 posts say they sat by the window or with a sea view. One counts roughly four or five such tables, one says you can book ahead to get a window seat, and one got a window table around 1 p.m. on a weekday and called it luck.
  3. Side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar; 14 posts mention it, some noting the dishes sat under lids or in a glass-door fridge. Kelp, acorn jelly, peanuts, candied sweet potato, pickled wood-ear mushroom and pickled ginger come up repeatedly.
  4. 13 posts describe the eel as thick or plump; four say it had no fishy smell, and several found one kilo plenty for two.

  1. Six posts mention a floor-seating area at the back in addition to tables, and several saw groups having office dinners.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms3 of 27 posts

No post says what floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs. That means nobody wrote it down, not that there are none.

Nobody mentions an entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; posts only say you pass the tanks and live-fish counter on the way in.

One post says the restrooms are inside the restaurant and separated by gender, and three in all mention separate restrooms; the rest only copy that from a listing.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Nearly every post gives 46,000 won per kilo of eel and 54,000 won for hagfish. One post dated 15 September 2026 lists 48,000 and 60,000 won, but later posts go back to 46,000, so we don't treat it as a price change. The 'good-price business' label is the shop's own signage, repeated by the posts.
  • Most posts give the same hours, 10:00 to 21:00 with last order at 20:00 and closed Tuesdays, though nearly all copy them from a listing. One post alone says open until 21:30 every day.
  • Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1362-0220; one gives 051-721-0074. Only one post mentions booking, as a tip for getting a window seat; none describe actually calling ahead.
  • No post describes waiting in line. Some say the room filled up on a weekday evening or at dinnertime, but nobody recorded how long anyone waited.
  • Three posts actually went by bus, two of them naming the 181 to the Daebyeon harbor entrance stop. The same bus tip appears word for word in posts by people who drove; we did not count those.
  • Nine posts cluster in 20–27 August 2026 and seven in 14–19 September, and several share the same keyword set and stock phrases such as '32 years' and 'cleaned and sold out the same day'. Only one discloses sponsorship, but commissioned posts are likely mixed in; we did not treat the shop's own claims as evidence.
