Dokkaebi Pocha
도깨비포차 Fusion pocha at the end of a Seomyeon alley, open until six in the morning
Data as of · Published ·
A two-floor fusion pocha at the dead end of a drinking alley in Seomyeon, behind a lantern-lit goblin sign. The walls and ceiling are papered with sticky notes left by customers, and one menu runs from hot pots and beef tartare to kimchi lasagne, arancini and shaved ice. Prawn crackers, barley tea and a cup of ice arrive free when you sit; you order from a tablet at the table. It opens in the evening and runs until six the next morning, which is why so many people arrive here as their second or third stop, and the upstairs is given over to groups. It opened in September 2025.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- What lands on the table before you order anything is the most consistently praised thing here. Twenty-one of twenty-nine wrote about it: crisp prawn crackers, barley tea instead of water, and a cup packed with ice that nobody asked for. Three separate writers single out the tea, the unrequested ice, and the crackers as a snack in their own right. One worked out that the crackers make a fine base for the beef tartare.
- You order from a tablet at the table, and the tablet is half the entertainment. Nine writers mention it. Besides the menu it takes song requests — three people put one in, and one had hers playing straight away. Every staff call is on it too, so you never flag anyone down, and two writers note that the home screen carries photographs of the owner and staff. There is no paper menu.
- Staff come up in sixteen posts and never unfavourably. The specifics: a blanket offered unprompted to someone seated under the air conditioning; prawns peeled one by one at the table (though one writer found they were too busy for that); a refill of green chillies for someone who picked them all out; melon served without the condensed milk on request. Order the omelette and it arrives with a line written across it in ketchup — a different line every time.
- Say you will leave a Naver receipt review and shaved ice or ice cream comes free. Five writers mention it and three took it up, one of them touched by how much ice cream was in something given away; another was too full to bother. It is open to anyone rather than a sponsorship — but it does mean part of this denominator is people who had agreed to write something.

Parking
5 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Do not drive here. Five writers state there is no parking, and not one of them writes about having parked. The advice is uniformly to use a public car park in Seomyeon. It is a bar at the end of an alley that stays open until six in the morning.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Second floor | 17 of 29 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 2 of 29 posts |
| Separate restrooms | yes 2 · no 1 (of 29 posts read) |
It uses two floors, and they are not the same room. Seventeen writers mention the upstairs: the ground floor runs to four-tops and noise, the first floor is given to groups and is quieter for it. Three put the maximum party at forty and the minimum at six, and several note how hard it is in Seomyeon to get a table for more than six at all — one arrived on a Sunday to find the ground floor entirely taken by one party and was sent up. One writer warns about the stairs, though: slippery on the way down, and watch your head on the ceiling.
Nobody looked at the step at the door, at ramps, or at how wide the doorway is. Whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair is not something we know. The only route upstairs described anywhere is a staircase, and no post mentions a lift — so the group seating assumes people who can climb. The one writer who describes the stairs says only that they are slippery and the ceiling above them is low.
Three writers looked at the toilets themselves, and they do not agree. Two 2026 posts put the women's on the ground floor and the men's upstairs, both inside the premises — one even notes the men's is straight ahead at the top of the stairs. But the oldest post, written the month the place opened, complains that there is only one and that it becomes a problem when the room fills. Whether a second was added, or whether that first visitor only ever saw the downstairs one, we cannot tell. The phrase "separate men's and women's" in other posts is lifted from the Naver listing and was not counted.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Read this set with one filter on. Twenty-nine posts landed in twelve months, and the same sentences recur across them — a four-post-identical set of walking directions, word for word, plus repeated stock phrases about handmade food at low prices and being the only place in Seomyeon that can seat a group. That is a press kit being copied out. We kept them in the denominator anyway, because all twenty-nine ordered different things, recorded prices, and disagree with each other: the lasagne disappointed one, the arancini was too salty for another, an early visitor found only one toilet. Two posts declare a commercial arrangement (one tagged as sponsored, one an invited tasting), one writer says she is a regular who gets things comped, and one states she paid her own way. The other twenty-five never raise the subject.
- Only three writers describe getting here without a car, and all three walked from Seomyeon station — four minutes from exit 6 by two accounts, four minutes from exit 4 by a third. Nobody came by bus. The walking directions are repeated across several posts in identical wording, which suggests they came from the shop rather than from the writers. It is at the end of an alley, and one writer warns that first-timers need to look carefully down it.
- Plenty of people photographed the menu; far fewer ate from it. Six writers transcribed it whole, and close to ten dishes in those transcriptions appear in nobody's mouth — the sweet-and-sour pork, the kkanpunggi, a cold scallop pasta, stir-fried squid, braised tofu with kimchi, a clear cod soup. We know what they cost and nothing about how they taste. Several writers also note that the menu keeps changing and that new dishes appear constantly, and at least one item ran only for the midsummer dog days — so do not assume the names and prices here are still current.
- The opening time shifts with the season. Several writers note separately that from July to October the Monday-to-Thursday opening moves to seven in the evening, and one simply says to ring and ask about winter. Posts split between six and seven for the opening hour — not a contradiction, but a difference by day and by season. On the closing time all twenty-nine agree: six in the morning, with one writer adding that there is no last order.
