Mongsil Jongga Dwaeji Gukbap
몽실종가돼지국밥 Jongga means the head house of a family line and dwaeji gukbap is pork-and-rice soup; the posts give no meaning for Mongsil.

Mongsil Jongga Dwaeji Gukbap's Gamcheon Culture Village flagship is a pork-and-rice soup house tucked down an alley beside Pusan National University Hospital in Ami-dong, Seo-gu, Busan. Posts put pork soup, mixed soup and sundae soup at 11,000 won, antibiotic-free pork soup at 13,000 won and the boiled-pork set meal at 14,000 won, with 3,000 won extra for a large. The broth comes lightly seasoned with spicy paste already in; diners salt it themselves with fermented shrimp and refill side dishes at a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts from May to October 2026, 22 of them by people who ate here. Three were set aside (a same-name branch in Toseong-dong, or posts that never mention this place) and five were list posts we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- It is bigger inside than it looks from the street: 13 of the 22 visit posts called it spacious, one saying the entrance by the pharmacy made it look small but the room turned out to be huge. Several posts note you walk deep in from an entrance beside a pharmacy, and one writer missed the front door and came in through the back.
- The soup arrives under-salted: four posts said the first spoonful tasted bland, one writer was briefly thrown by it and another found it too mild for their taste. Several posts note the spicy paste is already in the bowl and can be left out if you ask when ordering; in some, staff asked first.
- Eleven posts said there was no porky smell and none said otherwise; one writer who is sensitive to it ate the boiled pork plain without trouble.
- Extra side dishes come from a self-serve bar, which 14 posts mentioned; one noted hot and mild peppers are kept apart. One writer missed the plain wheat noodles many Busan gukbap places add.
3 more
- Ten posts called the portions generous; one said the large bowl was full to the brim before any rice went in, another that even the small boiled-pork plate was a lot.
- Family meals lead with six posts (spouses, a sibling, children), two of them with kids; one went with a partner and one with a friend. Several writers came before or after a hospital appointment.
- Three posts said food came quickly, one calling the soup super fast. Dumplings are the exception: two posts were told they are steamed to order and take about 15 minutes.

Parking
2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Twelve posts touched on parking but few from experience: two said one or two cars fit in front, one said you squeeze into the alley during the 12-2 lunch window and use paid lots otherwise. The one hour of free weekend parking at the hospital's lots 2, 3 and 5 appears in copied info blocks or as hearsay, and one post says it does not apply on weekdays.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Step at the entrance | yes 0 · no 1 (of 22 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Step-free access | 1 of 22 posts |
No one described the floor or any stairs from experience; only the address says ground floor.
One post (July 2026) watched a wheelchair user roll straight in through the entrance and eat at the table without moving to a chair. That is the only post on it; no one else mentioned a step.
No post says where the restroom is; separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in one copied info block.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-09-11 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post reported waiting here. One went around 3 pm and found it quiet; another found it busy at a late lunch. A post describing a lunchtime line was about the Toseong-dong branch, so we left it out. This means no one wrote about a wait, not that there is none.
- Only one post, a sponsored one, gave a transit route: from Toseong station exit 6, walk uphill toward Gamcheon Culture Village to the alley beside a Pascucci café. Others only said generally that it is easy by public transport.
- Fourteen posts gave the same hours, daily 9 am to 8 pm with last orders at 7:40, all in copied info blocks; one writer ate here at opening before a hospital appointment, and one says it is open every day of the year. One August 2026 post listed Monday-Saturday 8 am to 11 pm, which matches the Toseong-dong branch, so we did not count it.
- A meal ran 11,000 to 14,000 won; posts from May and October 2026 both list pork soup at 11,000 won, so we saw no price rise. A set for two was 46,000 won. Four posts mentioned a free drink or two dumplings for a receipt review.
- Many posts list the phone number 051-256-0133. Reservations, groups and delivery appear only in copied info blocks; no one wrote about booking ahead.
- Claims of top-grade Korean pork, six straight years on Busan's city food list and no MSG are the shop's own signage, copied into posts, and we did not rely on them. Six posts carry the same link to the shop's online meal-kit store with an identical product title, and several share hashtags and phrasing in the same order, which looks like commissioned copy; only one post disclosed sponsorship.
