SHABU IN SEOUL

샤브인서울 신용산본점 Syabeu-in-Seoul Sinyongsan Bonjeom Shabu in Seoul is plain wording — shabu-shabu in Seoul — and Sinyongsan Bonjeom marks this as the chain's original Sinyongsan branch.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

A shabu-shabu house at 61 Hangang-daero 62-gil, ground floor, on the Yongridan-gil strip between Samgakji and Sinyongsan stations (registered as the Sinyongsan branch, though posts mostly call it the original Sinyongsan branch). You pick one meat and one broth — one broth per table — and the per-person set brings vegetables, rice paper, a closing rice or noodle course and schisandra tea. Dinner runs from 23,000 won for black pork to 36,000 won for wagyu ribeye; lunch is 3,000 won less across the board. The Prime Angus chuck eye set was the favourite, ordered in sixteen posts. Each broth comes with a fixed finish: egg porridge, rosé risotto, doenjang rice, yakisoba or tomato risotto. Ten posts gave the same phone number, 0507-1498-0464, and ten booked ahead through CatchTable or Naver. We read 30 posts dated 20 August to 18 October 2026; setting aside 3 about other restaurants, all 27 describe actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order from a tablet or kiosk at the table — sixteen posts said so. The closing course is requested the same way and staff cook it in your pot; two posts advise ordering it early because it takes about ten minutes. One post noted broth top-ups and side refills are also called up on the tablet.
  2. Evenings draw a line. Four posts saw people waiting: one arrived before 6 p.m. and was quoted 60 minutes as second in line but got in within ten; one sat down around 6 and watched eight parties queue up right after; one booked 7:30 p.m. and still saw walk-ins waiting; one found a sizeable line outside on leaving. One post walked straight in that day. The waitlist runs on CatchTable.
  3. Vegetables are generous; the meat is where opinions split. The seven posts calling it plentiful were mostly talking about the vegetable basket — napa cabbage, bok choy, four kinds of mushroom, squash, glass noodles and more. Three others said the meat ran small, and two of them ordered extra noodles or pork. One more thought it looked light at first but was full after the porridge.
  4. It is an easy walk from the subway: ten posts said so, putting it 3–5 minutes from Samgakji Station exit 3 and 8–10 minutes from Sinyongsan Station exit 1.

  1. Partitions between tables make it feel quiet, said four posts; one disagreed — a dinner with old classmates found the packed hall noisy and suggested booking the private room. Three posts saw the room themselves; its 30,000-won fee, waived over 300,000 won, comes from copied listing text.

Parking

2 posts say you can park; 2 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you can park2 of 27 posts
Posts saying you cannot2 of 27 posts

Posts disagree on parking. Two said there is room out front — one specified two free spaces, another called it cramped — while two said there is no lot. Eight copied listings say no parking and point to the temporary public lot at Samgakji; the one post that drove parked there and walked five minutes. Check before you go.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

It is an easy walk from the subway: ten posts said so, putting it 3–5 minutes from Samgakji Station exit 3 and 8–10 minutes from Sinyongsan Station exit 1.

Getting inside

Toilet inside3 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 27 posts

No one mentioned a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — we simply don't know. One post placed it on the ground floor of a building down an alley.

The toilets are inside the restaurant: three posts said so first-hand, one placing them near the counter and one noting separate men's and women's rooms stocked with mouthwash. Two other posts repeated the same detail from the listing; we did not count those.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours are mostly copied from the listing. The common version: Sunday–Thursday 11:00–22:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00–23:00, a 15:00–17:00 break on weekdays only, last orders at 21:00 (22:00 Fri–Sat) and 14:30 for weekday lunch. Single posts gave weekend closing at 22:00, Sat–Sun at 23:00, Sunday at 23:00, and Friday at 22:00; five listed only 11:00–22:00.
  • Twenty-five of the 27 visit posts went up within ten days, 9–18 October 2026, and many reuse the same title keywords and hashtag set. Only one post, from August, discloses sponsorship, but this cluster may well be a recruited campaign. Claims like daily farm-direct vegetables and per-cut ageing are the restaurant's own marketing, repeated by bloggers; we did not rely on them.
  • Whether the lunch price is weekdays-only is unclear: most posts tie the 3,000-won discount to weekday lunch, but one weekend-lunch visit recorded the lunch price, 46,000 won for two. One post called it a bit pricier than a typical shabu place; another said it isn't cheap without drawing a conclusion.
