Bar

FRAMER

프레이머 Peureimeo Framer is simply the English word for one who frames; the sign spells it FRMR, leaving out the A and E.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Framer is a wine bar on the third and fourth floors of the Boda Seoul building on Sinheung-ro 15-gil in Haebangchon, Yongsan. The fourth floor is a dining bar and the third a cocktail and whisky bar, and nearly every post mentions the terrace view straight onto Namsan Tower. Dishes such as Korean beef tartare, grilled chicken, braised kimchi and pasta run in the 20,000s, alongside a 58,000-won bottle of house wine. One couple paid 111,000 won for tartare, oil pasta and a house bottle; another paid over 170,000 won for three dishes and a bottle of red. We read 30 posts from October 2024 to October 2026; 25 describe an actual visit. Three posts that only linked here from reviews of other places were set aside, and two multi-venue roundups counted as mentions only.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Terrace seats require a bottle of wine. Twelve posts said so. Two spelled out the fourth-floor rule: one bottle per table, so four to six people take two tables and two bottles, seven or eight take three. Three posts said indoor guests must order at least one drink each. One heard that the third-floor terrace allows wine by the glass, but ended up ordering a bottle anyway because it worked out better value.
  2. Eighteen of the 25 visits were booked ahead, mostly through CatchTable. One post (October 2026) paid a 20,000-won deposit per person; another (April 2026) put down 40,000 won and got it back afterwards. One found every terrace slot taken by 5 p.m. on a Saturday. Two walk-ins were seated on the third floor. One post had booked the terrace weeks ahead, but rain had broken the awning; on arrival staff told them to sit wherever they liked, the window seats were all gone, and that writer says they will not return.
  3. Seventeen posts sat on the terrace. Two said the fourth-floor rooftop has five tables, three of them in the front row facing Namsan Tower; another described backless outdoor bar seats on the third floor. One post said an awning shades the sun until dusk and is then rolled back, and two said blankets and a heater come out on cold evenings. One noted that the terrace faces the tower, not the sunset; another visited in the rain and could not see the tower at all.
  4. Six posts called it expensive, two said it was not, and one was in between. On the expensive side, one found the portions small for the price and another's bill topped 170,000 won. On the other, one writer compared bottles at 50,000–60,000 won with the 100,000-plus typical of Itaewon wine bars. Several writers said they were paying for the view.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 25 posts

Several posts copied the line that there is no parking and that a public lot is two minutes' walk away; only one writer spoke from experience, having left the car at a nearby hotel. The remark that the public lot is often full is also copied.

The bar occupies the third and fourth floors, and one post says seating and payment are handled on the fourth. Nobody described the ground floor or whether there is a step at the entrance.

No post describes arriving by wheelchair or stroller; that means nobody wrote about it, not that it is impossible. Three posts did say there is no elevator and the fourth floor is reached by stairs, and several mention the steep Haebangchon lanes.

Three posts said the restroom is inside the premises, one placing it on the third floor and calling it clean. One post said it is a single shared unisex stall.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on portions split: three posts found them generous (the pastas especially), two found them small (the grilled chicken and a seafood cream dish), and one was unsure.
  • The menu is viewed on your phone via QR code. Two posts ordered through it as well, while one said ordering was done with staff.
  • Transit opinions split. Three posts got there easily: one by village bus from the Haebangchon Ogeori stop two minutes away, one by bus from Seoul Station, one on foot from Noksapyeong Station. Three called Haebangchon hard to reach, and one said Noksapyeong is too far to walk and recommended the bus.
  • No post mentions queuing; most people book, but that only means nobody wrote about a line, not that there never is one. One couple waited briefly indoors for a front-row terrace table to clear, and another noticed the crowd thinning after 9 p.m.
  • Opening hours vary from post to post, and most are copied. Six 2026 posts agree: Mon–Thu 17:00–23:00, Fri 17:00–01:00, Sat 15:00–01:00, Sun 15:00–23:00. But one says weekends also close at 23:00 with last orders at 21:30, one lists Wednesdays off, and two say there is no closing day. In 2024 two posts had it opening at 17:00 daily, one with Tuesdays off; an October 2025 post had weekends opening at 13:00. In September 2026 one writer ate there on a Tuesday.
  • Prices shifted over time. Beef tartare was 28,000 won in two 2024 posts and 29,000 from November 2025. Going the other way, braised kimchi fell from 32,000 won (November 2025 menu) to 29,000 by May 2026, white ragu pasta from 26,000 to 25,000, and oil pasta from 25,000 to 24,000. A bottle of house wine stayed at 58,000 won from October 2024 to October 2026.
  • Seven posts give the same phone number, 0507-1463-0217. Bookings go through CatchTable and Naver; one post (October 2025) found the two systems double-booked and was told CatchTable is the main one.
  • One blogger's Framer review was linked, in identical wording, at the end of two of that blogger's posts about other places. We counted the review as a visit but ignored its info box, which even had the wrong address. That review and one other mention getting a free tiramisu in return for writing a review.
