Seongu Seoseo Sogalbi
성우서서소갈비 Seoseo means 'standing' — posts say diners once ate on their feet around the drum-shaped coal grills (chairs are provided now), and sogalbi is beef short rib.

A yellow-signed, decades-old grill house in an alley behind Mapo Station, at 26 Mapo-daero 1-gil. There is one dish — marinated Korean-beef short rib — and no stews or sides. The ribs arrive par-grilled and you finish them over a coal-briquette fire set in a round steel drum table; despite the 'standing' in the name, there are chairs now. A portion was 28,000 won in 2025 posts and 30,000 won in 2026 posts. We read 13 posts from March 2025 to August 2026; 12 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Eleven of the 12 visit posts say the meat comes out already par-grilled, so it needs only a short time on the fire. Five say the owner came over to grill it or cut the meat off the bone for them — when he isn't busy, as two of them put it.
- Five posts say the portions are small. Two people ending up at about four portions, six people at 18, four people at 12 — and one post put a portion at roughly 130 g. Budget for more portions than people.
- Six posts mention walls covered in celebrity autographs, and three say the TV was playing singer Sean's YouTube video about the place. That he is a long-time regular is repeated often, but it is hearsay and we don't count it.

Parking
2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

There seems to be no lot of its own. One post drove and parked at the Mapo Yusuji public lot about 100 m away; another says the Suhyup Bank lot next door can be used but has few spaces. The copied listings disagree ('no parking', 'parking', 'a few spaces in front').

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No one said which floor it is on or whether there are steps — we don't know.
No one mentioned a step at the door or wheelchair or stroller access. One family walked in with a six-year-old.
Only one post mentions the toilet: a single unisex one inside, next to the autograph wall.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 13 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices went up: four posts from March to August 2025 say 28,000 won a portion, two from June and August 2026 say 30,000. Five posts call it expensive; one said it looks pricey but felt worth it. Given the portion size, several pairs spent around 100,000 won.
- Opening hours seem to have changed. Three 2025 posts list weekdays 15:00-23:00 and weekends 15:00-22:00 (weekend last order 20:30); two 2026 posts list daily 15:00-22:00, closed on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays. All are copied listings, so check before going.
- Three posts say you can book by phone (02-718-8543), and one saw 'reserved' notes on the only empty tables on a weekday evening. But a June 2026 post says weekend bookings aren't taken and weekday bookings can't be same-day.
- Waiting is mixed: one post saw people queuing as they finished, another found no wait on a weekday. No one recorded how long a wait was.
- One post says it's a six-minute walk from Mapo Station exit 1; another says about ten minutes and calls the location a bit awkward.
- One post notes a rumour that children aren't allowed, but the writer went in with a six-year-old and was told nothing. That is the only post about going with a child.
- Company: two couples, one family, two groups of four or more, one by car. No one went alone.
