Compiled from 2 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Chinese restaurant in the basement food hall of The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, carrying the name of chef Yu Bang-nyeong. The menu runs from black-bean noodles and jjamppong to sweet-and-sour pork and shrimp dishes. Both posts ordered the signature myeongjang jjajangmyeon (12,000 won), topped with shrimp and chopped chili. One couple spent 76,000 won on noodles, a large jjamppong, a small kkanpung shrimp and a one-liter ade. We read two posts, from September 23 to October 13, 2026, and both describe actual visits.

What sets it apart

  1. Both posts waited. One was fifth in line. The other explained that you can join the queue on a tablet outside with your phone number, or through The Hyundai's Hi app, then browse the mall until you get a notification.
  2. Both posts said the myeongjang jjajangmyeon did not taste greasy, and both credited the chili on top. One mentioned its sharp bite and warned people who cannot handle any heat.
  3. One post said you order on a tablet at each table, with photos and apparently Chinese, Japanese and English as well as Korean. The same post described an open kitchen in a small room with closely packed tables.

Getting inside

In a basement2 of 2 posts

We don't know about steps at the entrance or wheelchair and stroller access; neither post mentioned it. That means no one wrote about it, not that access is lacking.

We don't know where the restrooms are; no one wrote about them.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Only one post judged the prices: clearly higher than a neighborhood Chinese place, but about what you would expect inside The Hyundai Seoul.
  • The chef's résumé (presidential banquets, head chef of a hotel Chinese restaurant) was copied from the promotional video and signage outside, so we do not treat it as evidence.
  • We don't know how to get there by subway or bus; both posts only described finding it inside the department store.
  • Only one post said who they went with (a boyfriend, on an anniversary). We know nothing about visits with friends, family or alone.
  • We don't know the opening hours; neither post gave them.
  • Neither post gave a phone number, and we don't know whether you can book. All they mention is joining the waitlist on site or through the app.
