Seouloin

서울로인 여의도점 Seoulloin Yeouido-jeom Seouloin joins 路人 (ro-in, a passer-by on Seoul's streets) with the English word loin — the brand's line is Korean beef sirloin.

Compiled from 19 blog posts read in fullSources →

Seouloin Yeouido is a 1++ Korean-beef course restaurant on the first basement level of the Teachers' Pension building, right by Exit 5 of Yeouido Station. Courses open with the Seoul Charim tray — cherry-blossom tea and six small bites — then move through a broth poured at the table, beef you grill yourself on a tabletop pan, rice with doenjang stew, and fruit with gaeseong juak. Of the visits we read, 13 had the Sura course (159,000 won per person with 90 g of beef), four had Seonhwa and one had Jinyeon. The courses were rebuilt on 1 October 2026: Sura now carries grapefruit-dressed raw fish, mixed jeon, spicy beef mulhoe, cold noodles, soy-marinated abalone and braised hairtail, where through September it had aged raw fish, beef tartare with seaweed, beef jeon, shrimp croquettes and grilled fish. We read 30 posts from 24 August to 23 October 2026; 20 describe an actual meal. Six were about the Seoul Forest or Seoul Station branches or another shop in the building and were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You grill the beef yourself. Of the 12 posts that describe it, nine grilled their own. Staff lay rosemary on the hot iron pan to scent it, and after that, as one post put it, everyone cooks their own meat. Two posts say staff grilled only the first piece while showing how; the single post saying staff did all the grilling was sponsored.
  2. Private rooms are the house's defining feature: 11 posts saw them or ate in one. Several describe 4-, 8- and 12-seat rooms plus a VIP lounge for 15 to 30; two posts note that a pair was shown into a two-to-four-seat room. One mentions a wardrobe in the room for coats. The rule that rooms require ordering a course is the restaurant's own notice, repeated by several posts.
  3. Easy by subway: eight posts walked about a minute from Exit 5 of Yeouido Station (Lines 5 and 9), and one left the car at home to drink wine.
  4. Nine visits were family meals — mostly a mother's birthday, a father's seventieth, a first meeting of in-laws. One each came with a friend, with colleagues, and with a husband. The one visit with a four-year-old says a child's tableware was set out.

  1. One bottle of wine can be brought in: two posts brought wine and drank it with the meal, and one saw a posted notice of one bottle corkage-free. Ordered in-house, soju was 8,000 won and soft drinks 4,000, says one post.

Posts saying you can park3 of 19 posts

Parking is in the building's underground garage. Three posts drove and found it easy; one noted the bays are generously spaced. The figures — two hours free on weekdays, three on weekends and holidays, then 1,000 won per 10 minutes — are the restaurant's listing, copied by many posts.

Getting inside

In a basement8 of 19 posts

It sits at the far end of the building's first basement level. Eight posts describe going into the building and down one floor — one by the stairs from the ground floor, one through the revolving door and down. The basement holds several other restaurants, with Seouloin at the back.

No one described the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post copied a listing that says the entrance is wheelchair-accessible, but that is the restaurant's own claim. One post took the stairs down; none mentions a lift — which means nobody wrote about it, not that there isn't one.

No post says whether the toilets are inside the restaurant; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listings.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 23 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-192 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on portions split: three posts left full, while one (Seonhwa course, 120 g) found the amount small.
  • The courses changed on 1 October 2026. A visit on 30 September describes aged raw fish, beef tartare with seaweed, beef jeon, shrimp croquettes and grilled sea bream; October posts describe grapefruit-dressed raw fish, mixed jeon, beef mulhoe, cold noodles, abalone and hairtail. Two posts published 6–8 October still describe the old line-up (grilled sea bass, chuck flap), so they were likely visits from before the change.
  • Prices depend on how much beef you choose. Three posts list Sura at 159,000 won (90 g), 169,000 (120 g) and 179,000 (150 g), unchanged across October. Seonhwa was 99,000 for 90 g through September; two October posts disagree, at 99,000 and 119,000. Weekday lunch went from a 39,000-won bulgogi special and 59,000-won Banga course to a 59,000-won bulgogi hot pot and 79,000-won Banga course. Two posts thought the meal expensive for what it was; one thought it fair.
  • Fourteen posts give opening hours, all copied from the restaurant's listing. The common version: weekdays 11:00–22:00, weekends 11:30–22:00, break 15:00–17:30, last orders 14:00 and 21:00. One post has the break ending at 17:00, and five give a single 11:00–22:00 for every day. Only one says there is no closing day.
  • No one reported waiting. Most visits were booked ahead — six say so explicitly — and one booked a 1 p.m. weekday slot and found the room fairly quiet. How long a walk-in waits, nobody wrote.
  • Eleven posts give the phone number as 0507-1312-2260; one gives 0507-1343-0329. Bookings were made through Naver and CatchTable, and one post says groups of ten or more had to pay a deposit to confirm.
  • Of the 20 visits, two disclose sponsorship and four say they paid their own way. Posts titled around family gatherings and 70th or 80th birthdays cluster in September and October; two share word-for-word passages about the opening tray, and two others share identical lines about the raw fish and tartare. Undisclosed posts may still come from the same brief, so take their praise lightly.
