Jeongin Myeonok

정인면옥 Myeonok means a noodle house; Jeongin is a proper name whose meaning the posts do not explain.

Compiled from 17 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jeongin Myeonok is a Pyongyang naengmyeon house on the ground floor of a church-association building on Gukhoe-daero 76-gil in Yeouido. Cold buckwheat noodles in broth or with sauce cost 15,000 won, the 100% buckwheat version 17,000 won, and people add dumplings, mung bean pancake, sliced pork or beef shank. We read 30 posts from March 30 to October 24, 2026; 19 are first-hand visits. We set aside 4 that were about other restaurants (Pandong Myeonok, Pyeongan Myeonok, the Pangyo branch, same-name shops in Bucheon and Gwangmyeong), and 7 were compiled without a visit. All 19 visitors had naengmyeon; 11 also ordered dumplings and 5 the mung bean pancake.

Rows without a count: 6 of 11 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect a wait at lunch. Three posts waited: about 30 minutes behind ten people at noon on a weekday, five minutes at a weekend lunch, and one found a huge line on the way out though it was quiet going in. Six posts walked straight in, all at off-peak times: 1 p.m. on a weekday, 5 p.m., 6 p.m. on a Sunday, just as the weekend break ended, 11:30 on a weekend, and a weekday afternoon in autumn. Two posts describe taking a number at the door, with separate queues for parties of one or two and three or more.
  2. Eight posts said the room is large. One guessed it seats more than 80; another said it stayed comfortable even when full because there are so many tables.
  3. Two posts noted both floor seating and regular tables.
  4. Three posts found the mung bean pancake crisp, one noting it was crisp all the way through rather than just at the edges. One post said it was less crisp than at other naengmyeon houses.

  1. Four posts called the portions large: three about the noodles, one about the meat in the yukgaejang. One post said a large naengmyeon costs the same as a regular if ordered up front; no other post mentioned this.
  2. Five posts were written by repeat visitors: a couple who came often while dating, a fifth-year Yeouido office worker, someone writing up a second visit, and others returning after a while.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is pyeongyang naengmyeon (평양냉면) — 19 of 17 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park3 of 17 posts

Parking is in the building's basement garage. Three posts parked there themselves. One found plenty of spaces; one noted the first hour is free with a meal. Another complained that after the first hour it is 2,000 won per 10 minutes, so an extra hour costs 12,000 won.

Where it is

Map showing where Jeongin Myeonok is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No one described the floor or the way in from experience. The address says ground floor, but no post mentions stairs or going down — that means no one wrote about it, not that there are none.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in.

Two posts copied listing details saying the restroom is inside and separated by gender, but no one described it first-hand. We don't know about the restroom.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Several posts say it is a 5-, 7- or 10-minute walk from Exit 1 of National Assembly station, but these are copied directions; no one wrote that they came by subway. The stated distance varies between 400 and 500 meters.
  • No post describes eating here alone. Two went with family, two as a couple, one with a friend. One post is a solo-dining guide, but it was written without a visit.
  • Opening hours come almost entirely from copied listings. Six posts give 11:00–21:30 on weekdays (last order 21:00) and 11:00–21:00 on weekends (last order 20:30); three say 11:00–21:30 every day, and one says 11:00–21:00 every day. All agree on a 15:00–17:00 weekday break; four say the weekend break is 15:30–17:00. No post mentions a day off.
  • One price changed. Three posts up to August 2026 list a half plate of dumplings at 7,000 won; later posts say 8,000 won (one with a June receipt also says 8,000, so we can only place the change between June and August). Naengmyeon is 15,000 won and the 100% buckwheat version 17,000 won in nearly every post; one June post listed 14,000 and 16,000. Noodles plus a half plate of dumplings comes to about 23,000 won.
  • Many posts list the phone number, 02-2683-2615, but none says whether reservations are taken.
  • Seven posts were compiled without a visit. One says its food images are AI-generated; a TV-roundup post makes claims no other post supports, so we did not rely on it. The history of opening in Gwangmyeong in 1972 and moving to Yeouido in 2014 also comes from a list post that copied it.
