allavo

알라보 여의도점 Allabo Yeouido-jeom allavo is short for "all about avocado" — a small chain of avocado salad and poke shops; this is the Yeouido branch, on the basement shopping level of the Brighton Yeouido complex, and posts about the Mokdong, Gwanggyo and Seokchon-ho branches are not counted here.

Allavo Yeouido is an avocado salad and poke shop on the shopping level one floor below Brighton Yeouido. The name shortens "all about avocado", and half a one goes into every bowl, poke, sandwich and burger. It is a lunch place for the office district, and a lot of people eat here alone. Every dish is built on the same base — black rice, sweet potato, kabocha, broccoli, roast mushroom, grilled pineapple, chickpeas, lentils, quinoa, avocado — so choosing really means choosing the meat that goes on top. Ten in the morning until half past eight on weekdays, eight at the weekend. The brand has branches elsewhere; this page reads only the Yeouido one. The posts we read run from November 2024 to September 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. You leave full — seven of the eight posts say so. "Went to eat healthily, came out rather full" is one writer's headline; "filling to the last mouthful", "good enough to stand in for a meal", "properly satisfying" are three others. They agree on the reason too: this is not a bowl of cold leaves but black rice, sweet potato and kabocha, with the mushroom and pineapple roasted. One writer notes you can eat it in the depth of winter without getting cold — and adds, in the same breath, that anyone dieting hard might find the carbohydrate and fat more than they want. That single line describes the place better than anything.
  2. It is a floor below ground, and you will not find it from the street — go inside the building and down. Seven posts place it in the basement, and two of them describe getting lost: don't take the steps down outside, one says, take the escalator inside and it appears in front of you; the other advises looking at the basement floor plan before you set off. Another writer says the shopfront is covered in avocados and impossible to miss — which together reads as: easy to spot once you are down there, awkward to get down there. It sits inside Brighton's basement arcade.
  3. There is a queue at lunch, but you do not stand in it long. Three writers say the lunch hour is busy, and one of them queued to order, eyeing the trays ahead of her (then asked a member of staff what she was looking at, and ordered that). The same posts also say it moves fast: the turnover is quick, the food comes out quickly, and this is not a dish people linger over. One writer arrived in the evening near closing and found the room nearly empty; another came at opening time on a weekend and had it to herself. Avoid the lunch hour and there is no wait at all.
  4. Opinion on the price splits exactly down the middle. Two say it is dear: steep for a salad, "everything about this place except the price", and the avocado puts it up. Two say it is not: worth every won, and good value given how much avocado you get. The split is not a matter of date — a 2024 post and a September 2026 post both call it good value, while a July and a September 2026 post call it dear. One comparison is worth having: the bowls run ₩11,900 to ₩15,900, while the side pasta is ₩6,900 — the writer who noticed that was startled enough to ask why the salad costs so much more.
  5. How you order differs from post to post, and it looks like a change rather than a disagreement. A November 2024 post and a February 2026 one describe a tablet on the table; the second writer was unconvinced by it — you pay up front, so you end up carrying your card over anyway, which left her wondering what the tablet was for. A September 2026 post describes ordering at the entrance and taking a buzzer. We could not establish when or exactly what changed, and report only what the posts say. Three writers note that you clear your own tray to the return counter.
  6. They disagree about the size of the room, and disagree in an interesting way. Three call it roomy, and two of those are comparisons with other branches — much bigger than the Gangnam one, and unexpectedly generous with space and seats for a shop in this building. One says flatly that it is not large. One writer manages both: it did not look like many seats, but on reflection there were a fair few, and perhaps that is good arranging. Two note seats set aside for people on their own, and say plenty of people were eating alone.
  7. Two writers call it clean, and neither simply says so. One puts it down to the building — everything about the place is spotless, and she suspects Brighton has something to do with it. The other compares branches: bigger than the Gangnam shop and, more to the point, a floor that looks looked-after, where she remembers the Gangnam one being far from it. Another notes that the kitchen is open, so you watch your bowl being built.
  8. The sous-vide meat comes up again and again as having no off-smell. One writer, who avoids beef in salads elsewhere, orders it here on trust: sous-vide, she supposes, is why it is so soft and carries not a trace. Another describes beef cooked slowly at low temperature, moist and tender with nothing gamey about it. Not one post says otherwise. The chicken breast, by one account, was not dry either.
  9. One writer says she will not be back. A November 2024 post: the avocado was ripened beautifully and she enjoyed her meal, but she feels she has now been enough. This is not a complaint about the food — she liked her bowl in the same post, and what disappointed her was the burger. She had been to the Gangnam branch back in 2020 and came to this one. Three others record returning: one who went twice and had the sous-vide beef both times, one whose usual is the Asian chicken, and one who had bought takeaway here many times before finally eating in.
  10. A good part of the trade is takeaway. One writer found the staff run off their feet with lunchtime takeaway orders; another notes that an order placed online before eleven can be collected straight away. One reader ordered from the library upstairs, collected on her way out and ate at home. But one person found it much better eaten in: she had never quite seen the appeal from the takeaway boxes, and sitting down to it changed her mind. One post mentions delivery.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 8 posts

Only one of the eight writes about actually parking a car. Five posts carry a line saying parking is available in the building, or free for an hour, or on the second basement level — but those are lifted from the shop's own listing, and none of those writers says whether she drove. The one who did (September 2026) came precisely because the library upstairs validates nothing and she needed somewhere that would cover two hours; she got her two hours. Even the copied lines disagree: one hour free in 2024, second basement level in May 2026. How long they validate is a question for the shop.

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

In a basement7 of 8 posts

No post says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Seven place the shop one floor below ground and one describes taking the escalator down inside the building, but nobody looked for a lift, or for a step at the shop's own door. That is not a no; it means nobody wrote it down. The basement arcade of a newly built residential and retail block may well be fine, but that is our guess, and we do not print guesses as facts. If a step or a stair would stop you, ask the shop or the building desk before you go.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 9 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The counts on this page come from eight posts, not thirteen. Three of the thirteen gathered by name were about other branches of the same chain. One was about a hair salon three floors up in the same building — it shares the street address, and Allavo appears in it only as a landmark for finding your way up from the car park. Of the nine that remained, one was a brand write-up with no record of eating: no dish, no price, other people's reviews and star ratings quoted throughout, and the name misspelled. This is how a chain gets tangled, and not one price or opening time from another branch has been used here.
  • Nobody writes about arriving by underground. Three posts carry a line — 455m from exit 4 at Yeouinaru, six or seven minutes' walk; ten minutes from exit 5 at Yeouido — but that is copied from the shop's own listing, and none of those writers says she took a train. The one person who records how she got there came by car. The copied lines at least agree with each other (Yeouinaru exit 4 is the near one, Yeouido exit 5 further), so they are usable for finding the place, but no one walked it and timed it. Yeouinaru, on line 5, is the closer station.
  • Not one of the eight posts mentions the lavatory — whether the shop has its own or you use the arcade's. Nobody wrote it down. A unit inside a basement arcade most likely sends you to the building's, but we could not check.
  • Two different telephone numbers turn up. The November 2024 and February 2026 posts give one; four posts from May, July and September 2026 give another. By date this reads as a change rather than a contradiction, so we print the one the four recent posts give. It is copied from those posts, though, and we have not rung it — it may have changed again. Whether the shop takes reservations, no post says. Nor does anyone report being turned away for want of a table.
  • No post declares a sponsorship, and four state that they paid. One records a free vegan cola for writing a receipt review — not sponsorship, but something given, so we count and say it. That same post is the only one here to have been disappointed by anything (the burger). Five posts give prices, and the sous-vide beef is the only dish two writers both priced (May and September 2026, ₩15,900 each time), so for everything else we cannot tell you whether the price has moved.
  • Eight people, one post each — no blogger wrote twice. The afternoon break looks like something that used to exist and no longer does: a November 2024 post gives 14:30–16:30 on weekdays, a February 2026 one 15:00–17:00 at weekends, while the four posts from May 2026 onward say nothing of a break and one from September states outright that there isn't one. The weekend opening also seems to have moved earlier, from eleven to half past ten. We have not checked any of this with the shop, so if you are going at the weekend or early in the day, confirm it first. Two posts note that they close over the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays.
