Da Shi Jia
따시지아 연남 Ttasijia Yeonnam Da Shi Jia is the Mandarin reading of 大食家, 'big eater' (daesikga in Korean); the posts say it is the first Korean outlet of a Singapore prawn-noodle house of that name.

Da Shi Jia Yeonnam is a Singaporean prawn-noodle restaurant in an alley off Donggyo-ro 38-gil in Yeonnam-dong, about a seven-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station. For a meal people order prawn noodle soup (12,500 won with medium prawns), prawn-broth fried noodles (16,500 won) or prawn rice soup (16,500 won); in the evening they add dishes like cumin pork ribs (26,000 won), cereal prawns or black-vinegar guobaorou (18,000 won small) with beer or highballs. The posts repeat that it is the first Korean outlet of a Singapore shop called Da Shi Jia. We read 30 posts from 7 to 27 October 2026; 29 describe an actual visit. All were written within the first month after opening.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- There is outdoor seating: 18 posts mention a terrace or outdoor tables. Three writers ate outside, and one says a garden screens the tables from passers-by. Several describe a bamboo-lined, lantern-lit path to the door.
- The seasoning is on the mild side: five posts say the food is not salty, one calling it slightly bland, and none says it is salty. Several note sambal, chili oil and pepper on every table for adjusting to taste.
- Heat depends on the dish. Five posts call the cumin ribs or the water spinach spicy; two say the prawn noodles are not spicy. One found the prawn rice soup peppery but not hot.
- Sixteen posts describe the fried dishes as crisp: cereal prawns, black-vinegar guobaorou, prawn rolls and fried mantou.
2 more
- Four posts say you order on a tablet at the table. Three say the food came quickly; none says it was slow.
- Eleven posts say it is roughly a seven-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station (one says seven to ten), several via the Gyeongui Line Forest Park.

Parking
3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

There appears to be no parking of its own: three posts say so in their own words and point to the nearby Yeonnam public street parking, and copied info blocks repeat 'no parking'. One writer came by car but did not say where they parked.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
11 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
No post describes the floor level or whether there are steps on the way in; only the address says ground floor.
No post mentions a threshold at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means nobody wrote about it, not that it is step-free or not.
Only one post describes the toilets: out and into a room on the left, behind a small curtain, one on each side. It is unclear whether that is inside the restaurant. The writer found them clean. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied info blocks.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on portions differ: four posts found them generous, while one says the prawn rice soup suits light eaters and the cereal prawns came as five pieces.
- No post mentions waiting, but all were written in the first month, so we cannot say how it is now. Four posts say you can book through Naver or CatchTable.
- Company varies: four posts went as a couple, three with family (one with a six-year-old, who was given children's tableware), two with friends, one with a group of former colleagues, and one alone.
- Opening hours vary between posts. Of the 20 that list them, 14 say 11:30, five say 10:00 and one says 11:00, all closing at 22:00. Every 10:00 listing is from 15 October or earlier; from the 16th on, all but one say 11:30. Twelve give a weekday break of 15:00–17:00 and two 15:30–17:00; nine give last orders at 21:00. One post alone lists Tuesday and Wednesday as closing days while others say open daily. Most of this is copied information.
- Menu prices are consistent across posts. Five call the prices reasonable and none says expensive. Four list the prawn noodles at 12,500 won (medium prawns) but two, by the same blogger, say 14,000 won without explaining the difference. One post gives a bill: 59,000 won for four dishes. Three mention a discount coupon for Naver bookings.
- Eleven posts give the same phone number, 070-4922-2400; bookings are taken through Naver and CatchTable.
- No post discloses sponsorship, yet nearly all repeat the same phrases ('six years running in the Michelin Guide', 'first official store in Korea', the 'big eater' name story, 'hawker bites'), and two left a review-count widget half-deleted. These may be promotional posts, so read the praise with that in mind. The Michelin listing, the celebrity pick and the '15 ribs a day' limit are the restaurant's own claims and we did not count them. One blogger wrote up the same dinner twice; we counted it once.
