Gamnamujip Gisa Sikdang

감나무집 기사식당 Gamnamujip means 'the persimmon-tree house', and a gisa sikdang is a drivers' diner, a fast, filling canteen built around taxi drivers who need somewhere to park.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

A round-the-clock drivers' diner at Yeonnam-ro 25 in Yeonnam-dong. Order pork bulgogi, mackerel and kimchi braise or braised chicken and the table fills with rice, soup, lettuce for wraps, a fried egg, a small bowl of noodles and braised tofu; visitors put a set at 13,000 won. Three posts note you pay up front when ordering. We read 15 posts published between 1 and 9 October 2026; 11 record an actual meal (one describes August visits), and the other 4 are multi-restaurant lists. The diner moved next door into a new building long before any of these posts, so everything we read describes the current premises.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Six visit posts say the portions are large, pointing to everything that comes with a single main: noodles, a fried egg, braised tofu and lettuce. Two note you can top up the lettuce and side dishes yourself. One visitor who ordered the large size thought it looked small at first, then found the big pieces of meat filling and advises sticking with the regular.
  2. Opinion on price splits four to two: four posts call it good value, two say it is on the pricey side for a drivers' diner. The figure itself is consistent, with four visit posts giving 13,000 won for the pork bulgogi. Two longtime customers remember it costing 8,000 won, or under 10,000.
  3. Three posts describe seeing many foreign customers. One regular says foreigners now outnumber the taxi drivers and notes the menu is written in several languages; another was surprised by how many tourists were there on a weekend morning.
  4. Three posts mention dedicated waiting seats out front. Nobody reports actually queuing: one post says there is always a wait at peak mealtimes and recommends arriving before 11:30 for lunch, while another walked straight in on a weekday evening to a full room.

Parking

Posts saying you can park5 of 11 posts

Rare for Yeonnam-dong, there is a car park attached. Five visit posts say you can park, and two describe the lot in front as spacious; one visitor arriving around 10 p.m. found it nearly empty. Another warns that at mealtimes it fills with taxi drivers and suggests the nearby Yeonnam public car park instead.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The registered address says basement level 1, but no visitor wrote about which floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs, and posts give the street number as both 25 and 23. That means nobody mentioned it, not that there is nothing to mention.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in.

No post mentions where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-042 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts say the diner used to operate from the old building just to its right and moved into a new one next door; the old building is still standing. When this happened we don't know beyond 'a long time ago'.
  • The '510 m from Hongik University Station exit 3' and '8 minutes on foot' lines are copied info blocks; no one wrote about actually arriving by subway or bus.
  • All seven visit posts that give opening hours say 24 hours, and six add open every day. Most of this is copied into info blocks, though three visitors did go at odd hours: before 10 a.m. on a weekend, around 10 p.m., and late at night.
  • The phone number 02-325-8727 appears only in info blocks; no post says whether you can reserve or describes calling ahead.
