Bakmanbae Arirang Bossam Gongdeok-jeom

박만배아리랑보쌈 공덕점 Bossam is boiled pork eaten wrapped in cabbage and kimchi; Manbae Arirang is the name of the original 1988 shop in Hwagok-dong, and the franchise branches added 'Bak' in front of it.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

The Gongdeok branch of a bossam franchise that boils gabrisal, a fatty cut from the pork shoulder, at 310 Dongmak-ro, ground floor, a 3 to 10 minute walk from Gongdeok Station exit 1 depending on who wrote it. It opened in April 2025. Most people order the banban bossam, which comes with both cabbage and kimchi; the small has been 43,000 won since June 2026 (42,000 before). Every bossam comes with a free two-person crab-and-clam kalguksu or a plate of jaengban noodles, and you order from a tablet at the table. We read 30 posts dated April 25, 2025 to October 15, 2026; 28 of them describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seventeen posts said the portions were large. The same two points keep coming up: even a small comes with the pork stacked two layers high, and the free kalguksu is a two-person pot, not a token bowl. Two posts that said it looked small at first but turned out just right for two we counted as undecided.
  2. Twelve posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table. Two noted that entering the head count brings the right number of place settings.
  3. Nineteen posts described a big room with well-spaced tables: four-tops plus long tables pushed together for groups, in an L-shaped hall. Two mentioned the open kitchen. One post said that at the dinner peak a company party made it too loud to talk.
  4. Seven posts said the pork had no off smell and nine said it was not greasy; five noted it is sliced thin. One post warned that as it cools it picks up a slightly smoked smell, and another found the texture ham-like and still preferred classic pork-belly bossam.

  1. Two posts saw celebrity autographs, including the YouTuber Heebab's, on the wall by the counter. Many posts repeat that Heebab is a regular and that the brand has 35 years of history; that comes from the shop's own promotion, so we did not count it.

Parking

11 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot11 of 28 posts

There is no parking of its own; eleven posts said so. The four who drove used the Yeomni-dong public lot (3,000 won an hour by one account), building lots across the street such as Jaehwa Square, or a paid spot by the Gyeongui Line Forest Park found through a parking app for 1,200 won. One noted the shop does not validate parking.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 28 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 28 posts

Three posts placed it on the ground floor, across from a Starbucks. Nobody mentioned a basement or upstairs seating.

We do not know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. None of the 30 posts mentioned it, which is not the same as there being a problem. One post saw a high chair.

One post said the restroom is inside the restaurant. Whether it is split by gender, or how big it is, nobody wrote, so we do not know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Mostly no wait. Five posts walked straight in: Saturday at 6:20 p.m., a weekday at 6, a weekday at 7:35 with one table left, a weekend lunch, and a weekday after 12:30. Only one post waited, on a rainy weekday at 7 p.m. Two posts booked ahead and found their tables marked as reserved.
  • Prices rose by 1,000 won between May and June 2026: posts through May 2026 show the banban small at 42,000 and medium at 48,000 won with the lunch set at 12,000; from June it is 43,000, 49,000 and 13,000. Two groups of four paid 79,000 won for a medium banban plus six bottles, about 20,000 won a head. Five posts called it reasonable, one called it pricey and suggested dropping the free noodles for a lower price, and two did not decide.
  • Eighteen posts walked from exit 1 of Gongdeok Station (Lines 5 and 6, Gyeongui-Jungang and the Airport Railroad). Estimates run from 3 to about 10 minutes, with 5 the most common. Nobody wrote about taking a bus.
  • Eight posts went with friends or acquaintances, six with a partner, three with family, three as groups of four or more, and one alone. Many say it would suit an office dinner, but none of the writers actually went as one.
  • On opening hours, all 18 visit posts that gave them say 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; eight of the nine that list a last order say 9:10 p.m., and twelve note a weekday break from 3 to 4 p.m., none on weekends. Most of this is copied from listing info. One post from opening month, April 2025, gave a 9:30 last order and said it closed every Saturday, but the same post also said 'daily', so we did not count the closure.
  • Most posts give the phone number as 02-6953-0004; one post listed 02-715-9592 instead. Reservations are taken, and two posts booked before going.
  • Nine posts from August and September 2026 repeat the same lines in the same order (35 years of history from the original Gangseo shop, the YouTuber Heebab, 'Korea's only premium bossam house'), which looks like a shared brief. One of them disclosed a free meal, and one other post disclosed a meal voucher. Nine posts said they paid their own way.
