아소정 Asojeong (我笑亭, roughly 'pavilion where I laugh at myself') was the name of Regent Heungseon Daewongun's late-life villa nearby; the restaurant takes the name, and its Daewongun naengmyeon nods to him.

Asojeong is a hanok restaurant on a hillside lane between Gongdeok and Daeheung stations in Mapo, next to Seoul Design High School, where people pair Hamhung-style naengmyeon with royal-style braised short ribs. Noodles run 12,000-14,000 won and galbijjim 45,000 (mini) to 109,000 (large); the most common order, in 11 posts, was the set of a small galbijjim with two bowls of noodles. Several posts note that warm broth and four kinds of kimchi and pickles arrive first. We read 30 posts dated 5 July to 14 October 2026; 24 describe an actual visit. Two were about other restaurants and four were lists or introductions, so we did not count them.

What sets it apart
- You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table — nine posts said so. One September visitor wrote that the tablets were new since their last visit, but July posts already mention them, so the switch came earlier. A printed menu book is also available, one post said.
- Portions lean large: seven posts said so. One pair felt the mini would have been enough after ordering the small; another counted six or seven ribs in a small. No post called it skimpy.
- On sweetness the posts split: seven said the galbijjim is not too sweet, two called it sweet, and one said both. On salt, one post found it slightly salty and four said it was not.
- Waiting depends on timing. Five posts were seated straight away, four of them arriving at the 11:30 opening or around 5 pm. One saw plenty of groups waiting, and three only said a wait was possible at peak times. One post says the queue runs through CatchTable, with a text message when your turn comes.

- Eight posts say the place is much bigger inside than the gate suggests. Three noticed separate rooms — one saw rooms with names like 'Elegance' and 'Noblesse', another saw six- and four-seat tables, floor seating and a back room.
- Eight posts noticed walls full of celebrity autographs, alongside TV-appearance photos and Blue Ribbon stickers.
- Many were repeat visitors: seven posts said they had been before or go often, one calling it their third or fourth return.
- Two posts mention free coffee after the meal — instant and brewed in one, coffee and candy in the other.

There are two parking spaces in front. Eight posts parked or found parking; five specified two spaces, and one said they were often taken. Several mention an hour free at the iParking lot inside Seoul Design High School, but that is hearsay from the restaurant, so we did not count it.

Only one post addressed floors, describing a single-storey hanok on the street; nobody mentioned a basement or upper floor.
No post said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller got in — that is unknown, not absent. Three posts mention the restaurant sits on a slope, and several describe entering through a wooden hanok gate.
No post described the restroom first-hand — whether it is inside or split by gender. One copied an info block saying it is indoors; another said it was dated but fine.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Fourteen posts list opening hours, all copied from info blocks: 13 say 11:30-21:30 with a 15:00-17:00 break, and the five that give a last order say 20:50. One August 2026 post alone says closing at 21:00 with last order at 20:30. Five say it closes on the day of major holidays.
- Set names and prices disagree: 81,000 won for the small Eoljukeodo set (one July post), 67,000 for a mini noodle set (one July post), 59,500 for the mini Mat set (two posts) and 58,000 for a mini 'Delicious Guys' set (one September post). We could not tell whether some are the same set. A meal for two on a set comes to roughly 60,000-80,000 won; one post called the prices on the high side.
- The phone number, 02-703-5959, is copied in many posts. Only one post said they booked ahead and were seated at once (weekend opening); several info blocks say Naver booking is available.
- Many July-September 2026 posts share the same lines — the Eulmildae-versus-Asojeong naengmyeon rivalry, the list of branches, '16 hours of care', the pitch for group dinners and foreign guests. None disclosed sponsorship, and six said they paid themselves. We counted each post that recorded an actual meal but did not treat the shared lines as evidence.
