Yukpum Gangnam Bonjeom

육품 강남본점 Yukpum is shortened from the house slogan 'yukjeup-eul pumda' — 'holding in the meat juices'; Gangnam Bonjeom means the Gangnam flagship.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

Yukpum's Gangnam flagship is a charcoal pork grill in the alley off Teheran-ro 1-gil, a few minutes from Gangnam Station exit 11. Staff grill and cut the meat at your table, and extra banchan come from a self-serve bar at the back. Posts from September 2026 on put skin-on pork jowl at 22,000 won per 170 g portion, aged belly at 18,000 and Ibérico neck at 21,000; the 720 g mixed platter is given as either 72,000 or 75,000 won. The schedule copied into those posts is 4 p.m.–11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, until midnight on Friday, and 11:30 a.m. to midnight at weekends. Until June 2026 it opened at 11:30 every day and prices were 1,000–2,000 won lower. We read 30 posts dated August 2025 to October 2026; 20 of them record an actual meal.

Rows without a count: 3 of 7 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the grilling: 18 of the 20 meal posts say so, one stressing that they grill from the first piece to the last, and the skin-on jowl is cooked skin-side down first and then cut. Two posts had a rougher time — in one the server dropped the meat on the grill and vanished before coming back, and in another the server was covering neighbouring tables with the same tongs, so the couple asked for them back and grilled it themselves.
  2. It is loud. All five posts that mention the noise say conversation was hard and none call it quiet — one blames the exposed ceiling and concrete walls for soaking up nothing, another says music plus chatter drowned out the person opposite, and a third group simply saved the talking for the next bar. The only 'calm and quiet' descriptions come from machine-written posts we did not count.
  3. Eight posts say extra banchan are self-serve from a bar at the back; one went back for the squid jeotgal and found the tray nearly scraped bare. Several mention two salts on the table, Maldon and a herb salt.
  4. Seven posts note how thick the cuts are — one says the jowl arrived as a block it first mistook for neck, grilled whole and then sliced. Twelve mention juiciness and four say it did not feel greasy.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 20 posts read)
Toilet inside2 of 20 posts

Only one post mentions the floor from experience, saying it is easy to find because it is at street level; the '1st floor' in other posts is just the copied address.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — not because there isn't one, but because none of the 30 posts says.

Two posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing blocks, so we did not count it; nobody describes seeing them.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-09-032 posts in one day
2026-09-022 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waits vary: two posts queued and one walked straight in. One group arriving around 7 p.m. found three parties ahead and waited on chairs outside. You write your name, party size and number on a whiteboard at the door, but two posts say people waiting on the spot go in before those who left a number. Five posts booked ahead and skipped the line; Naver and CatchTable bookings and remote queuing are mentioned.
  • Opening hours changed. Posts up to June 2026 show 11:30 a.m. opening every day (closing 11 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and midnight Friday–Saturday, break 3–4 p.m.); from September 2026 posts show 4–11 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 4 p.m.–midnight Friday, and 11:30 a.m.–midnight at weekends. Three of the recent posts agree on this; one says 4 p.m.–midnight on weekdays and another gives 11:30 a.m. to midnight with no day split. All are copied schedules, so check before planning a weekday lunch.
  • Prices have gone up: August–September 2025 posts list jowl at 20,000, belly at 17,000 and Ibérico neck at 19,000 won; from September 2026 they are 22,000, 18,000 and 21,000. The 720 g platter is split two and two between 72,000 and 75,000 won even within October 2026. No post gives a total bill, though three portions and a noodle dish for two comes to roughly 70,000 won at current prices.
  • The banchan changed: posts from August to November 2025 list sliced-radish salad among the side dishes, and a regular writing in September 2026 found it had been dropped.
  • Many posts are promotional. Five from August–September 2025 share one hashtag set from a sponsored campaign — three disclose a free meal or sponsorship, two say nothing — and we counted them because they clearly record a meal. We did not count six machine-written posts that only narrate photos, two promo posts with identical wording and order, one written by the restaurant itself, and one that scraped the listing. Several posts give the same phone number, 0507-1351-4102.
