Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Gangnam-jeom

역전포장마차 강남점 Yeokjeon means 'in front of the station' and a pojangmacha is a tented street-side drinking stall; this is the Gangnam branch of an indoor stall-style pub.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Gangnam is an indoor tent-bar on an upper floor in the alley behind the CGV, a few minutes' walk from Gangnam Station exit 11. You simmer pots of chicken-and-tripe stew (33,900 won boneless), braised chicken (25,900 won) or tripe hot pot on a burner at the table, and soju is 3,900 won with draught beer at 2,900 won. We read 23 posts from 16 November 2025 to 19 October 2026; 20 describe a visit, two were about other restaurants nearby and one only collected visitor reviews. Eleven of the visit posts repeat the same promotional lines in the same order (TV appearances, branches in Hongdae, Sinchon and Jonggak, tripe cleaned in-house). One post disclosed sponsorship and one said the writer paid.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eighteen posts called the drinks and food easy on the wallet and none called it expensive. Nearly every post quotes soju at 3,900 won and draught at 2,900 won; a sponsored post says two people had a large boneless chicken pot, fried rice, three bottles of soju and two beers for under 60,000 won. Keep in mind that eleven of these posts follow the same promotional template.
  2. Nine posts mention a free snack when you sit down, puffed rice crackers or corn puffs; one calls them caramel-coated and another says pickled radish came too.
  3. Six posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table; spice level and add-ins are chosen on screen, and one post found more dishes there than on the printed menu.
  4. Seven posts found the stew spicy. The menu labels level 1 as normal, level 2 as hotter than Shin Ramyun and level 3 as hotter than Buldak; two posts found even level 1 hotter than expected and one that chose level 2 said it was very hot.
3 more
  1. Eight posts said the tripe or chicken had no off smell, and none said it did. The claim that tripe is cleaned and boiled in-house is the restaurant's own line, repeated by bloggers, so we do not count it.
  2. Seven posts mention a wall TV, and two saw a baseball game on when they visited.
  3. Of posts that said who they came with, six came with friends, two with a partner and one with a larger group.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 20 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 20 posts

Eight posts say you climb stairs to get in, and none mention a basement. Most call it the second floor, but two say it is only half a flight up.

No post mentions a step at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift. That means we do not know, not that there is none; eight posts only mention climbing stairs.

Two posts say the restrooms are inside and separated by sex; nobody mentions size or an accessible toilet.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting is mixed: one post waited about 30 minutes, another went on a weekday and walked straight in. The rest do not say.
  • Two posts called the place clean; the one self-paid post saw a baby cockroach climb onto the table.
  • Noise splits one to one: one post found it fine for conversation, another called it boisterous.
  • Opening hours appear in 13 posts, all copied from listings. They agree on 17:00 to 01:00 Sunday to Thursday and 17:00 to 03:00 Friday and Saturday; last order is 00:00/02:00 in seven posts and 00:30 in two, and one November 2025 post gave 04:00 on Friday and Saturday.
  • One price changed: the beef-tripe hot pot was 28,900 won in a November 2025 post and 30,900 won from September 2026. Chicken hearts appear at both 6,900 and 7,900 won, and the chewy-noodle add-in at 1,500 and 4,000 won. Stew, soju and draught prices stayed the same throughout.
  • The phone number 0507-1342-4245 and Naver or group reservations are copied in many posts, but no one wrote about actually booking. A 50,000-won deposit for groups of ten or more appears only in one copied listing.
