Yangsando Yeoksam-jeom

양산도 역삼점 Yangsando is the name of an eel-rice chain that, by the shop's own account, began in Busan in 1956; no post explains what the word itself means, and Yeoksam-jeom simply means the Yeoksam branch.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Nagoya-style eel-rice shop on a side street off Nonhyeon-ro 85-gil, between Gangnam and Yeoksam stations. The signature hitsumabushi costs 27,000 won with one eel, or 37,000 won for the large with one and a half. It comes on a single tray with chawanmushi, salad, cold buckwheat noodles and miso soup. You eat it in four rounds: plain, with condiments, with broth poured over, then your favourite again. Plum tea arrives at the end. Salmon and pork bowls are 17,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 23 August to 15 October 2026. Five turned out to be about other restaurants and two were lists by people who hadn't been, which leaves 23 actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Plum tea comes free as the meal winds down; 12 of the 23 visits mention it, one noting it comes in a small wooden cup bearing the shop's logo.
  2. Whether you wait depends on when you go. Three visits waited: 10 minutes on a weekday evening, 20 minutes at lunch, and one person who registered at 12:13 on a weekday and was seated around 12:40. Four went straight in: at 6:30 on a weekday evening, after the lunch rush on a Chuseok holiday, a little before the lunch peak, and at 7 on a Saturday evening, which was described as quiet. There is a CatchTable kiosk at the door. One post advises solo diners to register as two and tell staff it's just one. Two posts mention waiting chairs.
  3. Seating mixes bar seats with tables for two, four and six; 15 visits describe it. Seven call the room small (one says plainly that it's a bit cramped) against one that calls it spacious. There is a six-seat group table at the back; one party of ten split across it and a four-top. Three posts mention power outlets at the bar or the wall bench.
  4. Three posts describe eating alone, at the bar or at a four-top. The others went with friends (2), a partner or spouse (3), family (1), or a group of coworkers (1).
2 more
  1. All 13 posts that describe the route walked from the subway: five to ten minutes from Yeoksam Station exit 3, with Gangnam exit 1 also walkable. One notes that the way from Yeoksam exit 3 is downhill.
  2. Four posts say the food came fast, two of them within about five minutes of ordering. One advised ordering as soon as you sit because cooking takes a little while; we left that one undecided.

Parking

2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 22 posts

Parking reports conflict. The two posts that speak in their own words say the shop has no parking. The copied info blocks variously say there's a 5,000-won parking tower in the building or that there is no parking, pointing to a paid lot nearby. Nobody wrote about actually arriving by car.

Where it is

Map showing where Yangsando Yeoksam-jeom is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

All 13 posts that describe the route walked from the subway: five to ten minutes from Yeoksam Station exit 3, with Gangnam exit 1 also walkable. One notes that the way from Yeoksam exit 3 is downhill.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, unit 101, but no visitor described the floor. That means nobody wrote about it, not that it's been confirmed.

No post says whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. We don't know.

No one described using the toilet. The only mention is a copied info block saying it's a building toilet, which we don't count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours appear, copied and mostly identical, in 18 info blocks: daily 11:00 to 21:00, closed 15:00 to 17:00, last orders at 14:30 and 20:30. One post gives 13:40 as the lunch last order. One says open every day of the year; two mention a closure over Chuseok, 25 to 26 September.
  • The price of the eggplant-eel bowl differs between posts: four say 23,000 won and two say 20,000 won. The dates don't line up neatly, so we haven't called it a price rise. A list post gives 25,000 and 34,000 won for the regular and large hitsumabushi, with no visit date. Three posts found it reasonably priced; one said it's a bit much to pay out of your own pocket.
  • The phone number is 0507-1461-1509, given in 11 posts. Two visits booked ahead, one by phone and one both times she went. With only one group table, larger parties are advised to reserve. Several posts note that Naver booking is also available.
  • Three posts share the same phrasing, pitching it as a spot for wedding-invitation dinners and team lunches, and repeat the shop's own marketing: founded in Busan in 1956, third generation, a HACCP-certified eel farm, 70-year-old soy sauce. None declares sponsorship. We treated the shop's claims as copied text and didn't count them.
