Suun-gwan

수운관 Suun-gwan is written 需雲館, roughly 'hall of the awaited cloud'; the house's own copy explains it as clouds having to linger before rain falls, just as good broth needs time to deepen.

A Korean-beef gomtang house that has a two-storey building to itself on Gangnam-daero 78-gil, about five minutes' walk from Gangnam Station exit 4. It opened in early September 2026. Hanu gomtang is 19,000 won, the mushroom and the spicy boyangtang versions 22,000, oxtail soup 29,000 (October 2026 menu); in the evening people order suyuk, jeon and bulgogi to go with drinks. Ground floor is an open hall, upstairs is private rooms. We read 30 posts dated 7 September to 19 October 2026. We set aside 20 as template-written copy and counted from the 10 that describe an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts say the meat is plentiful: in the gomtang, in the oxtail soup ('for 29,000 won, this much tail'), and in the eobokjaengban, which had more beef than broth. One writer thought 19,000 won was steep until seeing how much beef came in the bowl.
  2. Ordering is by QR code at the table, according to three posts; one adds that paper menus are also on the table and staff will take orders directly, since many guests are older.
  3. The free sides are three kimchis: cabbage, seokbakji radish and scallion. Two posts mention getting more, one by asking for a seokbakji refill, the other from a self-serve bar along the side of the room.
  4. The boyangtang is the only spicy dish: three posts call it hot, one 'the only red broth here'. No post calls the gomtang or mushroom gomtang spicy.

  1. Two walls are floor-to-ceiling glass: five posts mention the windows and the light, two mention the high ceiling, and one says a blind is drawn on one side because of the sun.

Parking

Posts saying you can park4 of 10 posts

Eight posts bring up parking; four describe the lot in front of the building first-hand. Two mention a valet booth and a 3,000 won valet fee, and one of those writers came by car. The 'free parking' and 'valet available' lines in the rest are copied listing info.

Getting inside

Second floor7 of 10 posts

Upstairs is private rooms. Seven of the ten posts mention the second floor and six call it rooms; one describes numbered rooms with wooden tables and coat hooks. One post says rooms take four or more, with a minimum spend of 200,000 won at lunch and 400,000 won at dinner. One group booked an upstairs room for a dinner gathering.

Seating is the ground-floor hall and upstairs rooms; no post mentions a basement dining area. One writer was told the kimchi is made in the basement, which we did not count.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift to the second floor; one post mentions walking up stairs. We don't know.

Nobody says where the toilets are. One post calls them clean and tidy; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing info.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 20 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-198 posts in one day
2026-10-183 posts in one day
2026-10-175 posts in one day
2026-10-152 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Twenty posts follow the same template: posted in a burst between late September and 19 October 2026, with no prices, sentences lifted from the restaurant's own copy, and invented side dishes such as doenjang stew and steamed egg that none of the ten genuine posts mention. One gives the wrong street address. We did not count them. Of the ten we counted, one says it was sponsored, and one is half the restaurant's own promotional text.
  • Prices come from a menu one post copied in October 2026 and match four other posts. One writer found it 'a bit much for an everyday lunch'; another thought so until seeing the portion. A soup and one side runs about 27,000 won a head.
  • Opening hours: seven posts say 11:00 to 22:00 every day and four give last order at 20:50, all copied from listing info. No post names a regular day off; one mentioned closing on 24 and 25 September 2026 for Chuseok.
  • The phone number 0507-1312-4475 appears in thirteen posts. Naver booking is available, and two of the writers booked ahead.
  • No post mentions waiting. One says it was very busy at lunch, but not that there was a queue. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait.
  • Company varies: two posts with friends (one a visiting Taiwanese friend), one with parents, one with a husband, one with a group. Many posts recommend it for business dinners, but mostly in wording borrowed from the restaurant's own copy.
