SOBOKI
소보키 강남점 Soboki Gangnam-jeom Soboki spells out, as it is pronounced, the native Korean word sobogi (소복이), 'heaped up generously' — the house says it heaps its food with flavour and care.

Soboki Gangnam is a modern Korean drinking restaurant on the uphill lane of Bongeunsa-ro 18-gil, between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon stations. People come for hot pots — minari chicken with scorched rice (32,000 won) or brisket mala (32,000 won) — with a cheese-and-bacon potato pancake (22,000 won) or brisket tteokbokki (24,000 won), plus traditional liquor or highballs (9,000–10,000 won), all ordered from a tablet at the table. Of 26 posts that actually went, 14 had the chicken hot pot and 12 the potato pancake. We read 30 posts from 9 August to 20 October 2026: 26 visits, 3 introductions or list entries, and 1 about a different restaurant, which we set aside.

Rows without a count: 11 of 15 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Fifteen posts saw or used one of the private rooms, the reason most often given for choosing it for a wedding-invitation dinner. But the one post that actually booked a room on a weekend evening (August 2026) said the room was very noisy too, and that when only four of seven guests came, it lost its 30,000-won deposit while making up the minimum spend.
- No post called it quiet, and three said it was loud: on a Friday night one group ended up shouting, a weekend room felt like a karaoke booth, and a third found it too noisy to enjoy. All three were evening visits.
- Ten posts mentioned the review offer: write a Naver review and get iced yakgwa — vanilla ice cream with olive oil, pepper and mini honey cookies — which two posts said costs 7,500 won otherwise. One post said its ice cream was already quite melted when it arrived.
- Eight posts said you order from a tablet or kiosk at each table. Four said the food came quickly — one said almost the moment it was ordered — and none said it was slow.

- Friends were the most common company, in 10 posts, five of them wedding-invitation dinners. Two went as a couple, two as a group of colleagues or acquaintances, and one with a mother.

No post described which floor it is on from experience. The registered address says basement level 1 while the blog check-ins say ground floor; both are copied addresses, so we don't rely on either. One post mentioned that the toilets are on the second floor.
No post said whether there is a step at the door or whether anyone got in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no barrier. Five posts said the approach is a steep uphill street.
Two posts said the toilets are inside the restaurant and separated by gender (one counted two stalls in the women's). Another said the toilets are on the second floor, so we can't say whether they are on the dining floor.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Fourteen posts repeat the same keyword set (Gangnam drinking-snack spot, Gangnam wedding-invitation dinner, group dinner, bookable bar) and the same stock phrases. None discloses sponsorship, though one says it will come back 'on my own money next time', and another post outside the set credits its photos to the business. The August 2026 negative review warns readers to look carefully at reviews gathered through sponsorship and review events.
- Two posts described walking from the station: about eight minutes from Gangnam Station with a tiring hill, and a recommendation to come by public transport. Distances like '381 m from Sinnonhyeon exit 6' in other posts are copied listing details.
- No post reported waiting. The one post that addressed it said the place was full on a weekday evening but they walked straight in. Three posts saw waiting seats by the entrance; the claim that there are queues on weekends is hearsay, so we didn't count it.
- Opening hours appear in 15 posts, all copied. Eight agree on 11:30–23:00 Sunday to Wednesday and 11:30–24:00 Thursday to Saturday, with a break from 14:00 to 15:00; one post gives 11:30–24:00 daily and another 11:30–23:00 daily. Only one post copied a line saying there is no regular closing day.
- For a meal, two posts gave totals for two people with one hot pot, one dish and two highballs: 81,000 won (October 2026) and 77,000 won (September 2026). The room minimum spend disagrees: the post that used a room in August 2026 was told 200,000 won for up to seven, while two copied notices from September and October say 100,000 won for one room of up to seven. We can't tell whether it changed or was copied wrong.
- Ten posts give the phone number as 0507-1353-0094; one gives 02-6949-0091 instead. Booking is said to work through Naver, CatchTable or by phone, and six posts said they booked ahead.
