PATINA

파티나 Patina Patina is the sheen that old metal takes on with age; the house says the name stands for time, as its parent restaurant Perigee stands for space.

Compiled from 41 blog posts read in fullSources →

Patina is a fresh-pasta restaurant on the 4th floor of the Arario Museum in Space building on Yulgok-ro, by exit 3 of Anguk Station; posts describe it as the second venue from the team behind Perigee in Samseong-dong. People start with a Caesar salad (18,000 won) and the Neapolitan fried pizza (two pieces, 18,000 won), then share three or four plates in the 30,000-won range: squid-ink spaghettoni vongole (32,000), spaghettini with bottarga (32,000), chicken risotto (34,000). Three walls are glass, looking down over the roofs and trees of Changdeokgung, and many visits were birthdays, anniversaries or blind dates. It now closes only on Mondays; posts up to November 2025 said Monday and Tuesday. We read 43 posts from August 2025 to October 2026, set aside one about Le Cochon on the floor below, and all remaining 42 describe an actual meal.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Thirty-two posts describe the view through the glass. Several say you cannot choose a seat when booking, but with glass on three sides others say every table gets a view, and one got a palace-facing table by asking in the booking notes. One post says the blinds on the side away from the palace stayed down until after 6 p.m.
  2. Nineteen posts booked ahead, through CatchTable. Mentioning a birthday can get a message written on the dessert plate, and one party an hour late was still seated and moved to a four-top when one freed up.
  3. Only one post saw a queue: arriving at the 11:30 weekday opening with a booking, they watched walk-ins start waiting around noon, and advise walk-ins to come at opening. Others note weekday lunch was full.
  4. Two posts say tables are timed: 90 minutes at lunch, two hours at dinner; one was told to call ahead if they wanted longer.
7 more
  1. Seven posts found the portions small and two found them generous. One couple needed four plates to feel comfortably full and another found three about right; one writer argued that for 30,000 won, pasta of this standard comes in a fair amount.
  2. Sixteen posts call the staff kind: dishes are explained as they arrive, wine is poured and kept chilled, and one server held the lift on the way out. In one post a server spilled water and later sent out two plates of fried seafood on the house.
  3. You can bring wine, but not for free: five posts give a 40,000-won fee, one bottle per table.
  4. Five posts mention mild heat: chili in the vongole, and chorizo cream in the chicken risotto.
  5. Five posts got a free vanilla ice cream with brown cheese for leaving a Naver receipt review.
  6. Ten posts went with a spouse or partner; others came for a friend's birthday or promotion, with parents, or as a work group at the large table.
  7. Two posts describe actually walking there, one by bus from Gwanghwamun and one from a nearby gallery; the oft-quoted three minutes from Anguk exit 3 is mostly copied from listings.

Parking

1 posts say you can park; 8 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you cannot8 of 41 posts

Eight posts say the building has no parking for diners. Drivers used the Hyundai Gye-dong building lot, the Wonseo Park public lot or the Jeongdok Library lot; one paid 9,000 won for 75 minutes. One post parked in front of the building, and one used valet on the ground floor, but another says that lot is for museum visitors only.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Two posts describe actually walking there, one by bus from Gwanghwamun and one from a nearby gallery; the oft-quoted three minutes from Anguk exit 3 is mostly copied from listings.

Getting inside

Lift to the floor22 of 41 posts

The restaurant takes the whole 4th floor; no post mentions any basement or other-floor seating.

Twenty-two posts took the lift to the 4th floor, which opens straight into the dining room. It is tiny, fitting about two people, and slow. It hides by a pillar opposite Fritz Coffee on the ground floor, and several visitors missed it and walked up the outside stairs, which one called steep.

No post describes arriving by wheelchair or stroller. The 'wheelchair-accessible entrance' line is copied from the map listing, and with a lift that fits about two people we cannot say whether a wheelchair fits. Nobody mentions a step at the door either; that means unknown, not absent.

We do not know whether the toilet is inside the restaurant: one copied info line says so, and one diner wrote they wandered looking for it. No post says whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Twenty-one posts list opening hours, nearly all copied from map listings. The most common version is Tuesday to Friday 11:30-22:00 (break 15:00-17:30, last order 20:40), Saturday 11:00-22:00, Sunday 11:00-21:00 (last order 19:40); nineteen agree it is closed on Mondays, and two put the weekday opening at 11:00. Posts up to November 2025 said it closed Monday and Tuesday; from March 2026 only Monday. We did not count the older hours as current.
  • Prices barely vary between posts: fried pizza 18,000 won, spaghettoni 32,000, Caesar 18,000. Fried seafood went from 26,000 in November 2025 to 28,000 from July 2026. One couple paid 95,000 won for three plates and beer; a mother and child spent 133,000 on three pastas, two glasses of wine and pickles. Nobody calls it plainly expensive: one says not cheap but fair, one says reasonable.
  • Twelve posts give the phone number as 0507-1302-2935; one November 2025 post wrote 010-4219-2935. Reservations go through CatchTable.
  • Several posts from March to September 2026 say part of the view was blocked by construction, including scaffolding on Donhwamun gate and a building site outside the far windows; we do not know if that is still the case.
  • Birthday lettering is mixed: three posts got a message written on the dessert plate after asking when booking, while one was told there was no such service.
